Wow, didn't realize how sensitive the fitment needed to be!!! Good video.
Yeah, there’s no room for error with these. And my understanding is over shimming is worse than not putting enough shims.
Man if this was anybody else they wouldn’t have been as successful, great video bro💪🏾
Thank you! 💪💪💪
U sir r an artist. Once again, it's in the hands of A REAL MAAAN...
Lol 😂😂😂
Yes I just brought one couple weeks ago a SC400 it could not start it was the fuel relay that causes it not to start but is running and running good
Glad to hear you got it running! 💪
Damn, was not expecting to see that! Great vid as always, Edward!
Thank you! Yeah it’s pretty bad 😂😂😂
Hang in there bro I almost cried when I saw the plate in 4, get a sequential trans 😢
Yeah man unbelievable 😞
I'll be doing a similar swap soon on my 92 SC400 Using a kit that dosen't require shims though. Hopefully it wont ruin the clutch like that!
I don’t think this was from over shimming. I still don’t know, he could have been doing a burn out when it exploded like this…
WTF bro! Seeing and hearing ur shock as u took it apart,I can only imagine what u thought! Ive never seen such a mess myself, thats one for the record books! yeah, keep it as a reminder becuz if u just told someone this, they;d almost not believe it !
Yeah exactly unbelievable. I should do an update video on what I think really happened. I don’t think my initial thought of hydraulic throw out bearing is correct. I guess we will never know
Well you got a nissan cd00 trans with a toyota bell housing adapter. It's not a very hard fix or a very hard sell. More than likely a Collins adapter. I'll stay tuned.
Yeah that’s an excellent option, I’m not sure which direction yet. Cd009 would be awesome
That clutch disk looks thinner than potato chips. Whoever did that swap half-assed it and rushed it. Bummer man. I hope you can get it up and running. Would really like to see a proper coolant flush video and ac compressor replacement (plus whatever the ac system needs to run right).
Thank you! I will get it up and running! 💪💪💪
That reaction: Oh.MY. GOD 😮😲🤣🤣🤣
I know right lol…
Whoa man that clutch was looking like some overcooked & crusted pizza. Lol
Lol, man I’m not going to lie, I had buyers remorse when I saw a chunk of pressure plate missing. 😂😂😂
@@Edward3jr hahah man I bet! But glad things worked out!
when i looked at that car and the previous owner told me he put a MR2 clutch in it and had some fun i said "no wonder it wont go in gear" even if it were shimmed properly that clutch was toast the moment he buttoned it back together. the seats were really nice though. he also told me that was a flowmaster exhaust lol 😆 how is your cd009 swap coming along?
Yes I agree! I should have known. I’m hoping to have time to turn back to it very soon!
Hello Ed. I am a recent subscriber to your channel and love the vids. I am not yet an owner of a SC300 but I am working on getting one from a family member. Manual swap would be high on the list. How would I know how many shims I would need with such a small margin of tolerance. Thanks!
This is only required if you’re going with a hydraulic throw out bearing. To answer your question, you have to remove the bell housing and with the clutch and fly wheel install measure the distance from the back of the bell housing to the pressure plate fingers, and then measure from the trans (where bell housing mounts) to the Front of the hydraulic throw out bearing. The difference is the gap. And that’s where you add or remove the shims.
Hey Ed why don't you put it back in automatic. Like I told you before I just bought
We came to far to put it back to auto 😂😂😂
Hey I am very interested in the Manual trans! What price were you thinking of still available?!
Which trans? I sold the w58 swap already😞
If you have any manual conversion trans or components involved with the swap master cylinder; clutch pedal, adapter; driveshafts ect!! Thank you much for your time
@@gregorymcwilliams2574 I will let you know when I come across another swap
Hey Ed, I been watching your videos, I had a question about my Sc400. My car start fine, I recently change out my sparks plugs, oil change, rotors and distributor, but it smell like gas from exhaust pipes. What do you think it might be? ECU? O2 sensor? It’s a 94 with only 79k mileages.
It could be a couple of things. It could also be your maf too, it sounds like it’s running rich, is does it die or have any weird idling issues?
Btw, I still have a problem with the idle. So if you’re patient, I’m going to circle back to that in the near future
@@Edward3jr yeah it did die a few time and the next day it start back up. Some days it does have some funny idles. Thanks for the reply and I love your videos.
@@biapia9879 okay, take the ecu apart and see if any of the Capacitors look burnt. If they look good, then we can rule that out. This is one of those things where’s it can be a simple thing, but we just need to find the issue. Thank you again!
Hey I’m the guy who got the swap from you what clutch do i need?
Man! I’ve been trying to get In Contact with you about that drift spot. I lost your info, Please message me on Facebook or Instagram. @Edward3jr
Okay, so the clutch you will need with that flywheel is an mr2 clutch. Check out XAT

Why the rats nest of cables behind you at the end. You should clean that up.
Will do thank you
do a brand new trans/clutch set up. see if you can use a bmw clutch setup or a 350z clutch setup. im not a mechanic but it seems that those two are the go to for most jdm folks from the videos you may have to hit the forums. also, if you are able to maybe get some better pipes for your car, or have some made for them with high flow cats. best of luck i hope you get it fixed up and looking nice when your done. hit up the junk yards/parts yards you may find what you need on the cheap there two. i found the video-they are adding cd009 but here is the link ruclips.net/video/JJaCNE0ZILg/видео.html
This is a good video, I’m kind of stick in between the two. I’ll make my mind up soon.
throw that flywheel in the trash the bolt holes are trashed and the color of the center of the flywheel is purple blue that flywheel got way to hot even if you resurface it the hole thing is not circular or flat anymore. weld a nut on the stud that's stuck in the crank and unscrew it out then thread chase every bolt hole on the crank should be good as new then
Excellent advice! I’m thinking about taking the fly wheel to the machine shop and seeing what they say 😂😂😂.
Man just sit relax car looks beautiful I'm sure you'll come up with a good idea 99% fixed try and automatic can you find something better
Guess who is keeping their sc400 stock? This dude lol
I’m afraid that ship has sailed… we are at the point of no return
@@Edward3jr I meant me lol
@@dronetrucker lol 😂😂😂 I’d be lying if I said that thought hasn’t crossed my mind. Go back to stock and start all over
Got an ig or somewhere I can message you interested possibly

thinking of going R154/AR5 or CD009?
I’m not sure yet, I’m in the planning phase weighing all my options. All 3 of those are excellent choices by the way.
