    • @VrtuhubTech
      @VrtuhubTech  6 месяцев назад +1

      The 2k 144Hz is definitely the one you should be going for if you want something for general use, a second display for work or gaming activities. The 4k version is good but few will need it and at this screen size I couldn't visibly see a difference in image sharpness. The higher frame rate makes a noticeable difference in smoothness and cost less too. Everything else, including build quality seems to be the same. Does this monitor support pass-thru mode? I.e. - can I attach a USB C power supply to the monitor, then the monitor to a MacBook? My current portable monitor works this way and it takes one USB C connector on my MacBook which is used to power the Mac and connect the monitor. Also - what is the actual weight of the monitor?

    • @VrtuhubTech
      @VrtuhubTech  7 месяцев назад +1

      I've tested this the other way around, with one USB-C cable to the monitor that's plugged into a laptop. The laptop powers the monitor, provides display out as well as audio, touch screen functionality and the side usb port for mouse/keyboard. All this using a single USB-C cable. I haven't tested this to see what would happen if a power brick was plugged directly into the monitor instead to power the monitor and charge a laptop device through pass through. As for the weight I'd say it's should be around the 0.93KG vchance are claiming for the touchscreen model.

    • @JT_6233
      @JT_6233 4 месяца назад +1

      Yes, it does support that. But I can't tell you what the power limit is. I assume not more than 30 Watts.
      Edit: I tested it with Anker 737 Powerbank. Readout is around 70 Watts

      @@VrtuhubTech what do think about hdr capability of Yours 4k ips model?

    • @VrtuhubTech
      @VrtuhubTech  7 месяцев назад +1

      Its good but I don't use it in HDR as it makes the desktop colours look a bit washed out in windows. You can adjust the HDR using the windows HDR calibration tool that makes everything look better. The OSD menu is also locked out (when HDR is on) so you have to calibrate from within your PC or app. When the HDR is on, you can experience HDR and you'll see a difference in light and dark spots in the scene. The oled version should perform much better in HDR, assuming it gets bright. If you do end up purchasing please consider using my affiliate link (even if you end up purchasing something else as it helps support my channel) I also have a written review in the description and this monitor does have DDC/CI support of that is useful for you.

    • @JT_6233
      @JT_6233 4 месяца назад

      The OLED Screens are absolutely remarkable. Especially how bright they can get.
      HDR is possible... but again, it's just 550 nits (windows shows actually below 490 Nits)
      So I am not that impressed with HDR, maybe you need to configure it properly in Windows.

      I asked the VChance store on AliExpress and I got an affirmative answer, but with Chinese stuff you never really know.
      My Asus PA148CTV supports DDC/CI, as do all my other non-portable displays. If a display supports it, you can usually toggle it in the OSD. But in your video I can only see the Freesync toggle and not the DDC/CI one.
      I got a cheapo Bimawen 16" 2560x1600 high refresh rate monitor on AliExpress and surprisingly it does not support DDC/CI, and DDC/CI is missing from the OSD as well.
      I use a piece of free software called "softMCCS" to determine if a monitor supports DDC/CI. You should give it a try!

      Depends on your country and where you are but for me in the UK if the total is £135 or less aliexpress will tax you at checkout so you won't run into any unexpected custom fees. If it is over £135 aliexpress won't collect tax and you'll have to make your own arrangements. For me, in the UK that means customs will bill you before delivery but a lot of these items from aliexpress can slip through without tax/customs being added. Just bare in mind if it does get picked up by customs you'll need to pay tax and handling fees.

    Looking at purchasing this monitor. What other resolutions/refresh rates does the 4K version offer? Or is it stuck to 3840 x 2400? Can it do 1080p 120hz for instance?

    • @VrtuhubTech
      @VrtuhubTech  6 месяцев назад

      Hi, I did try running the 4k Version at 1080p (1200p) as it runs at 120Hz but this is not natively supported. I had to use an application called CRU and this should also work with Nvidia control panel. You will need to set a custom resolution as it does not come with an official 1080p 120Hz profile, which means you can't run at 120Hz on PS5. If you do plan on making a purchase please consider clicking on my affiliate link as it helps to support this channel. Affiliate link - s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_DB8EFaH Also just to add VChanace sell a QHD version too which runs at 144Hz and supports 120FPs for use on PS5 and you'll save a bit of money. I have both and honestly I would get the QHD version unless you really need the 4k resolution.

    • @HamishClaxton
      @HamishClaxton 6 месяцев назад

      @@VrtuhubTech Thanks for getting back to me :) I'm also looking at the monitor for potential movie/TV watching whilst travelling and I think the detail of 4K would be beneficial here. Are you able to share what PPI both monitors are? Does the 4K version have a 2560 x 1440p mode (1600p)? If it does do you think you could use CRU to set it to 120Hz/144Hz?

    • @VrtuhubTech
      @VrtuhubTech  6 месяцев назад

      To get the PPI you need to look at the resolution and screen size, which is 16 inchs.
      For 2560x1600 it's 170 PPI.
      For 3840x2400 it's 255 PPI.
      It's a nice display but it doesn't have a built in battery & it has to be connected to the source (laptop/computer) to play videos from. You can also plug it into some phone but it's limited to 1080P and you lose a lot of quality.
      I think you'll be better off getting a low end tablet for movie watching unless you really need a second monitor (with HDMI/USB-C DP) for work purposes.
      For movie watching under SDR the display is bright and vivid but if you want to watch HDR content the colours start to appear faded. This can be addressed on windows HDR colour management settings but you can't adjust colours natively in the display.
      120Hz or 144Hz using CRU on the 4k model when set to 2560x1600 might be possible but in my past experience it usually isn't. I didn't test that though but I don't think its going to work and using CRU could cause damage with prolonged use at those overclocked frequencies. 2560x1600 at 60Hz works there's a native profile for that.

    • @HamishClaxton
      @HamishClaxton 6 месяцев назад

      @@VrtuhubTech Definitely interested in the portable monitor instead of a tablet. I have a laptop for work, a Switch for games as well as a Firestick 4K which I plan to use with the monitor. Thanks for the other information. Does the 2560x1600 mode on the 4K model look as sharp as the 2K model? In all honesty, I don't do too much gaming but the ability to have a 120 Hz option is a welcome addition for when I do. My main monitor is a AOC AGON AG493UCX2 which can do 5120x1440p @ 165 Hz - great monitor for work and games.
      Another thought, do you think a stylus would work on this monitor? Thinking about note taking with apps like OneNote.

    • @VrtuhubTech
      @VrtuhubTech  6 месяцев назад

      Wow you've got a very well arranged setup. I see what you mean now, firestick doesn't support QHD. Also it doesn't support 16:10 so you'll have 16:9 with black bars. Audio ain't great but you have a 3.5mm headphone port. QHD on the 4k version looks about the same quality wise compared to the native QHD on QHD display. At these screen sizes it's different to tell apart.
      No stylus support, there are portable displays that have this but this one does not. A good example of one with stylus support is s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_Dej0pMj they also sell oled and other various monitors just be sure the stylus version is selected. Don't know much else about these besides the 4096 pressure stylus support.

      @@gabrielcorso The frame, at least for my unit is metal (likely aluminum) & I believe many of their monitors are using this frame with different panels. I found the display to be very bright with vibrant colours but the monitor isn't calibrated. That's means you won't get natural colours right out of the box. The display can be manually calibrated though but I haven't been able to test their 100% DCI coverage. That was really expensive (+ upcoming import fees), but still waayy cheaper and better build quality than what is available on Amazon for example. For probably (I just checked) at least 3x the price.
      Yeah, I was looking at the 13.3 inch Bimawen OLED panel for a very long time a few months back, when I stumbled across VCHANCE. In the end, I thought that 4x the resolution for around 2x the price is worth it :D

    Ok not being an expert, but such a shallow review (e.g., sRGB makes the colours brighter... Do you have some understanding of what sRGB, Adobe RGB, etc are??) is a clickbait. Sorry, do your homework a little bit more!!

      It makes the colours brighter on this portable monitor 😅 if you listen the review you can see me saying it ain't actually calibrated and the presets don't actually correspond to the values.. So SRGB ain't actually SRGB, Adobe RGB don't look like Adobe RGB etc.. You'll have to manually calibrate it as these presets are all over the place.
