Layering Lavender Ombre Soap Colored with an Alkanet Root Powder Infusion

- This time, I decided that my alkanet root powder had infused long enough and that it was time to make soap with it!
The technique I am demonstrating today is an ombre layered soap scented with lavender essential oil. I made a slow tracing soap formula and chose lavender essential oil to keep trace from speeding up!
Enjoy!

I love all your videos Ariane. They are so informative, Glad that you've back in your soap studio.
Beautiful! I agree it does looks like mountains going off into the distance.
Hello. My wife and I are taking a cold process soap making class this weekend. I wanted to have some idea of what we would be doing and found your videos. I've watched almost all of your videos so far and I am very impressed by your work. I love the music you use and think you do a great job on the edits. Count me as new subscriber.
Your tall and skinny mold....I have serious soapy lust! ;) And that Alkanet root powder is so divine!
Adrianne, I love watching your channel and the main thing I like the most is how clean you are in your shop. You take such pride in everything you make and I can see how each piece comes from your heart. I would like to see you make lip products. Keep up the great work and have a blessed day.
Awesome how-to video! Soap turned out really beautiful!
Very inspiring! The soap looks like fogy mountain from afar. Beautiful work! Thank you:)
These look like the Blue Ridge Mountains in North Carolina, USA. Very pretty!!!
Those are beautiful soaps! Reminds me of just before sunrise in the desert.
Love your work Ariane. You are a true soap artist. Keep inspiring us!

Ariana, I love your ombré soap. I look at your workshop and I want to have many of your soap making tools. Seems the best are state side. Your drying racks are awesome!
absolutely gorgeous result
This is awesome. Soooooooooooooooo beautiful and I wish I could have oneS.
Very nice! I'm going to try some ombre soaps. Thank you for sharing!
Hello Ariane, I really love your videos. Its so funny I also live on an island but in California. I also have a little workshop under my house too. So I was thinking that you might get a little less greying if you use no white in the layers except maybe in just the two lightest layers. Just add less alkanet root mixture in gradients to the darker layers. At least that's how it worked out in painting in art school. It might take a bit more planning to do in setting it up. Just a suggestion.
Lovely!
Oh my goodness! I love this ombre soap!!! Can you make another video of this? In a light spring/summery color???
Great video!
I love it!
I love the video, very detail...I would love to try some of your products.

Ariane,
Love watching everything you create. Beautiful work!! Would love to know where you purchased your soap cutter!!

Lovely! Soap Ariane... They look like some Mountain pikes here in Jamaica. I was wondering about Alkanet root powder if it gives a true purple, So thanks for the Video.
beatiful....
Where did you get your drying racks?
So nice mam where did you get that soap cutter
Amazing video. Thank you. I have a question and cannot seem to find the answer maybe you can help me. I have infused Alkanet Root Powder. I want to ask can I add the Infused Alkanet the way you added at trace or do I have to make two seperate batches and deduct oils? I am so lost. Please can you clear this for me. Thank you
Awesome soap and beautiful woman!!
After cutting your soap, what do you do with the thin scraps at the end of the loaf?? I want them!! LOL!
After infusing with powder, do you need to strain off the oil to ensure there is no sediment? For powder (from leaves), is the cold process the only suitable form or can I apply heat for a limited time.
Thanks in advance for your reply.
Bonjour Ariane, comme tu es francophone comme moi , utilisons le français ! Merci, tes vidéos sont magnifiques et me donnent plein d'idées. Par contre impossible de traduire le terme "alkanet" en français...
Pls share the infusion rate of the powder to oil. Thk u
Ariane...truly what is your favorite mold?
Maybe do it with black so it was a little darker
Can I not melt and pour most soaps that you are col processing?
Can you make a video for the massage oils. thank you
Hi Ariane, how do compensate for the extra amount of oil you are using with the Alkanet solution? Thanks x
Deborah Hemsworth this is also called superfatting soap 😊
Where do you get your beautiful drying racks?
Are these molds available for purchase anywhere?
Ariane PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE tell me where to get drying racks like you have. I am new to soap making, ( only been doing it for a couple months) and I have went crazy making all kinds of soaps. I have been storing them in boxes with holes punched through them but I am running out of room. I have looked everywhere for drying racks like you have ( I have watched all your videos) and I can't find drying racks anywhere, please tell me where you get your racks from, I would greatly appreciate it.
You can get them at nurture soap and essential depot
Or you can go to a restaurant supply (webrestaurant has really good prices) and buy flatware racks. They're square, plastic, ventilated, stackable, and far cheaper than the soap racks. Work like a charm.
Crystal B Essential Depot has drying rack similar to hers.
I am so sorry for your misspelled name Ariane.
Thank You so much for sharing, when grow up I, want to be just like you, Just Kidding I'm Forty something ; ). How do i send a private message ? I have a question, i want to ask privately.
You can write me an email if you have a specific question. Lafilledelamer@hotmail.com
Mais t'as dont ben des bonnes idées!
