  • SideCar from WORNG Electronics is a six channel mixing VCA (4x mono, 2x stereo) with 45mm faders and proprietary CV shaping circuitry to deliver high resolution level control, punchy envelope response, and improved headroom.
    SideCar is designed to give you a proper mixing experience, letting you craft proper detailed mixes from within your Eurorack system like never before. We designed SideCar with a 'less-is-more' approach to enable you to just get premium level control with a clean and usable interface without trying to cram the interface full of features, giving you a high quality, truely modular building block for your modular system.
    The inputs and outputs cascade for use as a mixer or for ease of more complicated patching, SideCar is also the perfect accompaniment for a SoundStage or Jumble Henge to add level control to your favourite spectral mixer.
    SideCar is shipping now, contact your favourite quality modular dealer to order one today!

    This is so smart! You had me at cascading inputs to two outputs for a main mix and a send. Then I assume you can just patch that send to effects back into one of the stereo ins and you’re set! Brilliant!

    This is exactly what I've been looking for to pair with a Jumble Henge.

      They go together perfectly!

      Oh my! I hadn’t thought about that but yes! I’ve been thinking about future plans for a flexible mixer but wasn’t as into the idea of an all out performance mixer. Right now in a 4u104hp case it’s often Veils 2 but when I have another row, Jumble Henge and this Sidecar will be amazing!

    heh man you misspelled your company name on all of your modules!

    This is great! - Two questions, I still have: Since you did not mention this, there is no normalized voltage to the output so this could not be used as a controller, right? And the second one is about the cv-conditioning/ the response of the VCA - is it lin, exp or whatever in between? :)

    • @worng_electronics
      @worng_electronics  Месяц назад +3

      If you patch a static voltage to input one you can use all the outputs for controls, due to the inputs cascading down. The CV response is exponential but with conditioning at either end, so the -100dB to -50dB passes faster, and so the top end rounds off at 0dB to keep control over levels to make sure things don't clip.

      @@worng_electronicsthank you for the fast response! I really should have figured that out by myself, a clever design! - The response indeed seems to be carefully chosen.
      I really hope to get my hands on one of these in the near future!

      @@worng_electronicsthat’s such a smart way to take advantage of that! 1 cable in and you have lots of offset voltage! If you were to cv the channels you could also then reduce that offset voltage to different ranges correct? I love the way this rides between modular and a performance mixer that might take out some of these incredibly thoughtful features! Well refined and I appreciate that a lot!

      @@worng_electronics so pleace show more of the Faderbank idea, what is the range then,? Faderbanks have -5/+5 or 0/5 or 0/10 Volt, which one is the closest? all? :D thanks

    Oh cool,
    just wonder faders are logarithmic or linear?
    And stereo channels inputs are normaled for mono input?
    Also, does channels have amplifications? If yes what amount of gain? OR where is the unity place?
    Thank you in advance ))

    • @worng_electronics
      @worng_electronics  Месяц назад +2

      The faders themselves are linear but the VCA response is exponential as it’s optimised for audio. Channel 5 is normalled for mono L to R but Channel 6’s normals go to the L and R of channel 5. Maximum gain is unity to prevent clipping, as Eurorack only has 6dB of headroom.
