Got ‘em already. Coming to see you in Minneapolis - channeling some Prince funk . . .
Oh man, I would love to see you live, but no tour dates in Spain?! You guys are killing me! 😭
Come to dublin ireland pls
The hardest thing about covering Fleedwood Mac is "Not Being Stevie Nicks" - too many people who aren't Stevie Nicks try to be her and it just doesn't work. Sophia absolutely slayed this by being herself and singing her voice - and she absolutely NAILED it.
....totally agree....not to mention the fabulous musicians👏👏
Not so fun fact, Stevie wrote the lyrics (the melody rhythm came about from a jam session) about how her relationship with Lindsey was falling apart, and Stevie and Lindsey both sing the song. Talk about immersion.
@@mikeg3439 Fleetwood Mac is what happens when you lock a bunch of people who hate each other and sleep with each other in a room, then feed them nothing but guitars and cocaine.
I also heard an opportunity for Bonnie Raitt to sing this.
@@BlindIo42 That's not a bad summary.
That Sophia's voice matches all the intensity of the drumming and other instrumentation is a special thing.
"Aw hell no!"
"Aw HELL YES!"
Wow, so amazing - and I cannot get enough of Sophia's voice!!!
agggghhhhhh that drum solo was nasty. My guy's spacing is just *chef's kiss*
You guys have slaughtered one of my favorite songs and I kinda dig it. 😅 Something only Pockets can do, and Sophia sounds great as always. Oh, and daddy is on drums.
I was just waiting for that bassline to kick in
@@cobuslinde2134 that one for example, but they took virtually everything away that I liked about the song. But I really dig what they did with it.
Daddy on drums indeed. Legend. Sophia is freakin' incredible, of course!
Great R&B basslines & riffs too. Off the charts!
This is almost Criminal. What a complete pile of crap.
Absolutely elite across the board. Just wow.
Pimento is a killer bass player! Damn!
Killer drum track this time. Chad Wackerman is the man, and the mix is huge
Lol, I was just thinking "mmh the drummer is pretty good, who is he?" Five seconds later Googling and... OMFG!
Great drumming !!!
To “huge” imaho !!! specially that snare … that snare reminds me of an old VHS drum lesson with master Ginger Baker … 😂
As someone says, this version is extra, hard funk, hard soul!!
Goosebumps every time!
I can’t believe it: Chad freakin Wacherman!!!! I mean, he played with FRANK ZAPPA!!!!
That is an amazing group, and WHAT A DRUMMER OMG!!!
The Chain is one my favorites of all-time. Very cool to see a funk take on it.
I love the face that consistently comes up in Scary Pockets videos that says “oh shit that’s FUNKY!”
This is one of your top 10.
@ScaryPockets... you are not @ScaryPockets. This is fake.
Wow, that one started off funky and proceeded to lift off the earth! Next level!
Amazing cover. The big finish to the song was slayed vocals, super funky, but somehow still in the pocket organic.
I wonder what Beatles/McCartney song they were talking about. Would kill for a Scary Pockets version of I've Got a Feeling. "Settling" for Maybe I'm Amazed, Hey Jude, Let it Be, or Rocky Raccoon would be great too.
Killing version! Great to hear Chad and his daughter knocking it out of the park! Band is super tight
Damn!!!!! 😊
Thank for MAKING my Monday morning! This feeds the soul.
Yeah!!!
Jeez this sounds glorious with headphones on!! Well done!!
Ay ay ay this is one of my favorites songs in the world what a versionnn 🔥
So good. It's like a totally different song.
This sounds so punchy, the mixing and mastering are unbelivable
Glad you enjoyed!
@@camfonics Is Village Studios the same as the old Village Recorders?
This was awesome music! Amazing they were able to continue to play during the earthquake.
What a Swatty solo
GOOD JOB, WELL DONE
The awkwardness of the Paul interview at the end is A-1 😂
It’s like the combined awkwardness of a celebrity/fan interaction, mixed with some old person/young person issues, and to top it off, add the delay and interruptions of a Zoom meeting
Really strange, but now we are all waiting...
McCartney has a great sense of humor for an all-time megastar -- and love that he is willing to do the whole schtick here w/the boys for a laugh -- and I feel a genuine appreciation that his music is still being covered, with passion and creativity.
This should be it's own clip or at the very least the vid should have opened with this! Brilliant!
WOW, very interesting take on a classic here !!
felt denatured at first, but indeed Sophia bring's it perfectly with the team.
AGAIN SOLID WORK EVBDY !!!
Super sick 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
2:45 After the climax with these incredible fills of an always staying cool drummer there goes this funk vamp and it so great seeing these musicians having pure fun playing their stuff. I like it, I like it!
Sophia always on 🔥🔥🔥This arrangement just so so
Thanks so much
That was extra funky!
Outstanding!
5 cameras in the middle, and the video ends up being entirely the handheld.
Yeah I don't get it. Maybe there was some major technical #fail and they went entirely with the B roll.
You're doing THREE tour stop in Colorado and none in Salt Lake? I'm gonna riot this is devastating
this grooves!!!!
Please do Monkberry Moon Delight by Paul !!
that would be great
Yes, please do!
Yes!
Awsom
wow!!! totally caught me off guard. that was a fantastic rendition.....,
Outrageous! Fantasticals!
Massive re-invention - terrific. THANKS!
Yo! This is lit 🔥
What an amazing cover
chad wackerman!? wow!
oh, that's his daughter singing. didn't recognise her. cool and unusual version of this tune!
All I have to say is… Hell yeah! Get it!
Smoking solo from Swatty!
Chad Wackerman! What a great name for a drummer lol. Tied everything together very well.
Whoa! That ended superbly!!!
Anyone else feel like the keys getting the big solo was a nod to Christine? Absolutely stunning.
WOW!
Can't wait to see you guys in the Netherlands in May :D
Goddammit this is hot! What sweet, sacred, silky funkinesss. That rhythm section is tight, the vocalist is spectacular, and the leads, just wow!
Well said, good sir!
Looking right away at the drummer and thinking "Is that... ?"
It is.
Beauty Full Pockets ❤
ps. Lovin’ the awkward beetle at the end! Legend 😂
"A song inspired by the lyrics of Fleetwood Mac's 'The Chain' "
Sorry I can't call this a cover.
Still love it though.
Yeah even if the chords are swapped it feels like the changes still need to fall in the same place to put it in the category of a cover.
DRUMS.
GOOD.
Props to Joe for rocking the classic Lindsay Buckingham hair for this video.
Paul is happy.
Awesome as always
Well, you certainly funked that up. Great musicianship - tight groove.
the paul mcartney bit was funny. very cool he follows scary pocket group. i'm looking at the concert schedule and i missed the band. i'm in the pacific northwest and am a month short and a day late. poop.
You had me at “Listen”
1:24 is SO DELICIOUS. THAT SNARE.
Top
Scary Pockets just redefined the Karman Line. I am officially floating in space. Then there is this close encounter of the weirdest kind with that Paul McCartney interview. Was that for real?!?!?!
That intro groove!!!!
The Chain funk version?! Yeah right as if that would ever wor-
Damn! That sounded amazing
😂
NICE
Sophia's voice is so powerful here!
This sound soooo funky, holy shit
funky as shit!!!!
Have you all ever done a Ride Like the Wind cover?
Some songs just work well with multiple genre's, but I'm not sure this is one of them. I heard Judith Hills funk versions of cheap trick & Aerosmiths walk this way & it took a couple a listens to catch on. Noe I love them. Maybe that'll be the case with this one.
Fantastic arrangement, and that vocal by Sophia! And, CHAD, Whaaa?? Ok, request: Do you think you could get Jay Bellerose in? I think his approach to your music would be such a beautiful fit.
SO. GOOD.
Stank face activated. That was some nasty, dirty groove.
That's a very cool version. 👍
Dig the intro!
Man how do you get so much talent in one room. It's an all star convention. But that singer.... Whoa! Not just range but in control all up and down the range. Yikes.
I'm curious...where's the video from all those cameras in the middle? ;)
Nice!
That can't be Swatkins! He's not playing the Talk Box!
My mind actually filled in the tawk box effect during his solo!
Great cover, but the chat with McCartney was hilarious! 😂
Suggestion: It is obvious that you guys are recording these vids with more than the one hand-held moving camera (there's a bunch of them on stands). I'm sure a lot of us (musicians) would like to be able to select different camera's at different times so we can check out what's up on the keys, what's up on the drums, guitar, bass, etc. etc. Why not just set up a file on your site that contains the output of each camera so we can select the different shots ourselves while you're playing the tune.
Almost commented something similar and found this. I for one wished - with the copious amounts of cameras used - they switched angles, or better yet, split the screen into 4 or something so that it'd show more than one musician at the same time.
I noticed that some "fixed" cameras were shooting in "portrait" mode (for social media perhaps?), so it would be perfect for the kind of use I just suggested.
Oops I didn't read far enough into the comments to see this same reaction to the setup that I had.
Damn that was good. Always.
Can someone help me? I've only just been introduced to this band, via a video they shot years ago. As I scrolled through the postings I see few people in that video in the others. Is this a band that switches members up frequently or is it more of an idea than a set of consistent musicians?
I think your latter characterisation is spot-on.
Harrison Ford on drums, Bob Ross on bass... That's what I'd like to see.
I thought it was Lynsey Buckingham circa 1975……..
Wau Cool❤🔥
Is Jack Conte filming this? If so, then it is confirmed he was blinded by the recording/filming process of their Ain't No Mountain High Enough cover.
Sophia brings it! And Ryan - step out for a lead, man! Your rhythm playing is fantastic, but you rarely ever step up to the spot light.
Question for the camera operator/cinematographer : Which handheld rig do you use and what is your A-cam? I love the natural look you guys have here!
I was just thinking the exact opposite :)
A little too much movement this time. It made it more difficult to focus on the incredible musicianship.
I guess (from previous vids and some reflections in the mirror) the video team is using a BMPCC6K Pro with a Easyrig - would be interested in the exact answer as well!
@@heidimark hiya
Really enjoyed this one, but I have to ask...where is Jack C?
i'm worried about it too kkk
Yea so much better than the original, the “Mac” just got totally worn in for me with constant radio play! Tasty and very refreshing re-hash of that overplayed tune, nothing against Fleetwod Mac of course!
I was wondering when we were going to see Chad!
Sheesh, who was that drummer? Killer . . .
