I purchased a 2023 HR-V Sport for $29k. The media says it"s slow. Sure, when compared to a TurboCharged Direct injected high horse powered Autobahn sports car. Getting from 0 to 60 mph in under 8 seconds is not the average persons #1 priority. Reliability and usability is. There is NO troublesome turbo forcing air into a small 2 liter engine. No direct fuel injection to carbon up the intake manifold. Power is plentiful for an everyday driver. HR-V is nimble with amazing handling from a fully independent suspension. It 's easy to exit & enter, with a lot of functioning safety features. EPA Gas mileage is achieved without really trying. Room is plentiful & visibility excellent. The K205 engine will be long lasting. My only criticism is the cvt, but I will say as compared to other manufacturers cvt's, Hondas is the most normal feeling. no rubber band affect. This reminds me of a Porsche Macan!
I bought one and I'm very happy with it. I enjoy driving it and it seems very practical for cargo space and gas mileage. My only complaint is that, being an older driver, I really have to pay attention to lift my right foot over the side of the open door frame when exiting the car. Also, my husband cut his ear open on the top of the door frame when shutting the door after stepping out. At least for older drivers and occupants, be careful getting out of the vehicle and shutting the door.
I have the 2023 HRV LX AWD. Starting cost was $25,300. With the AWD and Platinum Pearl White paint, and pre-delivery service, 😅total cost was $26,940. I think it is a great little crossover at a very affordable price. It still has a very luxurious feel, even at the base trim which I have. And for the price, it does not skimp on any of the really necessary features. The CRV and other SUV’s were always out of my price range. And the previous 2022 HRV was too small of an SUV for my needs and liking. This vehicle was the perfect option for me. I absolutely love my HRV ❤❤❤❤
I just purchased a 2024 Honda HR-V EX-L AWD, (Modern Steel Dark Gray Metallic/Black Leather) and love it! I just wish Honda had more color choices for the HR-V's
I’m a honda woman. I’ve had 3 civics and just bought the 2024 HR-V EX-L (Canadian model). I bought it in part because my insurance broker said it would cost me more to insure a civic and also because I would have waited longer to get a civic. While it’s higher than a sedan, it’s not too high. I love my new ride. It drives smoothly.
I traded my 20 Fit EX for a 24 HRV EXL FWD W/BSI on Aug 8, 23. I had 8200 equity in my fit and I paid 29000 for the HRV. I got the last one available at the dealer. It was in the show room Milano Red HRV. I put 3K down as well and paid 1800 for my 6 year 100,000 mile warranty. My Fit payment was 330. My HRV is 342. I financed 24,000 for my Fit. The HRV 20,000. I think I got a good deal especially now for a much better car. So far, for me who only drives 7,000 miles a year, so good.
I’m a Honda guy but was very disappointed with the updated gen that looks like a sibling to the Ford Escape. I’ve seen a few of these on the street and they look better in person. If I bought this I’d buy the Sport trim and save a few grand compared to this trim. Great review as always.
Car looks very sharp in that color on the outside, and black interiors are fine. Nice it is offered in AWD. I really like that vehicle very much. If I was in the market for an AWD vehicle in that size, I would head to our local Honda dealer.
Have 33000 miles(54000km) on our 2023, bought it solely for commuting and it does that well. It is not peppy by any stretch. Issues I’ve had with it, factory tires wore out at 15000 miles, back window shattered while sitting in my driveway( end of a no thru street and no evidence of vandalism) , it has a lot of road noise on the hwy, my 2015 Silverado is quieter. The headlights are poorly adjusted from factory, I get flashed by every other vehicle on the road. I probably wouldn’t buy again. If you’re in the city it’s a great car to zip around in, good on fuel, handles well, traveling on the open road or long trips not the greatest.
Purchased a 2024 HR V EXL for $29,450.00 in April already had wheel locks, cargo tray, clear door edge guards, and mud guards. In Bakersfield Ca. Very happy with the purchase coming from a 2016 Civic EX T don’t miss the turbo one bit.
I have a 2016 HR-V, & it still drives like new. It has 141 HP which is adequate, & it’s very good on gas. It is a little loud though. I drove the 2023 HR-V Sport, & it had all the features of this EX-L minus AWD, leather& the sunroof. It was $24,000. It now has 158 HP, but it could easily use 10-15 more. That was my only complaint & the reason I didn’t buy.
I just bought a 2024 Hr-v sport. Glad I saved a few thousand dollars. The look of the sport is vastly different then the ex-l. From the 18 in black rims to the subtle touches of red stitching on the interior. Mine looks very different then the one in the video. Just broke 200 miles so we'll see in a few hundred more my true feelings. No complaints yet though. 👍
I’m shopping for cars right now and the honda dealer straight up told me it’s a chip issue. the new CRVs don’t have it at all because Honda doesn’t have enough chips for the BSI. but i absolutely will not be buying a car without it, it’s a non-negotiable for me.
I know its kind of an impractical thought, but nevertheless i say bring back the 2.4 that was so reliable in the CRVS and Accords and put it in the HR-V! What would be wrong with that? More power too! Win win!!!
@@Zangetsu_X2 The engine isn't impractical but the thought is. Once an engine is gone, automakers replace it with something else usually never to be seen again.

I had the old HRV. I think this generation defeats the purpose of that old one. Small smart packaging with good fuel economy. Great looking suv though.
PLEASE ADD THE MAGIC SEATS BACK!! I have a 2007 Honda Fit with Magic seats and I need to upgrade. I'd like a CRV or HRV but I won't buy one unless they have Magic Seats. I can fit a washing machine in my Fit, but I can park it anywhere. I'd also buy a new Honda Fit if they bring that back.
I have one it’s a beautiful car , and the awd is nice. The honeycomb in the front getting bugs out is a pain in the rear. It’s a 2024 it is roomy no vents in the back seat that I have found. Good gas mileage not as good as the ford focus I gave away.
I drive a 2019Mazda GS sport hatchback and my fuel cap door locks 30 seconds after I lock the vehicle or my 2018 kia Rio sedan only opens from inside on the drivers seat floor otherwise it won't open
Awesome suv/cuv/huv. I love the design and size and was considering instead of my 2023 Acura integra Elite a spec manual, but I enjoy integra. I am still considering and might get for my daughter.
I want a CRV with just a 2.5L NA engine. No hybrid versions. I dont want the Turbocharged 1.5(i think its 1.5) engines. I just want a normal engine that is just an engine. Reliable.
Honestly no, with a lot of cars on the road becoming electric this thing's acceleration is just not safe. Now a hybrid version with 200 hp would make complete sense.
Overpriced with a Ford Escape look but biggest advantages are non-turbo decent engine, wireless Android/Apple connectivity, traditional shifter, NO AUTO START/STOP feature which I absolutely loathe, the little passage storage under the shifter, and traditional looking gauges with digital features. The shiny black cladding on the wheels will take a beating but overall a practical tiny crossover. You get a better value with the Chevy Trax but that has a questionable long term reliability due to tiny turbocharged engine.
Mediocre MPG. Is the transmission an E-CVT or a belt CVT? Is the engine direct injection or port injection? These are long-term durability concerns and need-to-know info. (All cars look great brand new, but many become reliability nightmares.)
Wish had power gate and seat controls have memory when I drive at 5 foot I set my seat and hubby gets in he is 6' 1 I have to adjust back. the Crv has both. but want the smaller hrv
i love this vehicle but why are the arm wrests on the doors clear down at lap level, center console too. there's literally no arm support on either side. aside from that i don't really have any complaints
Not sure if I missed it or not but are you able to dim the 9 inch panel as well as the dash at night? I'm on my third Civic right now and I'm thinking about getting an HR-V but I have to be able to dim the dash at night.
Greetings from southern Ontario Canada I really enjoyed the video unfortunately this crossover is a disappointment I would prefer the honda CRV hybrid 😮

I am tired of all black interiors. If you live somewhere hot it really makes a difference. There also needs to be air vents in the backseat (where the big useless hole is between the seats) and connectivity for backseat users. Throw a turbo in there and it would be fun to drive. For now I will stick with my Civic w/ turbo.
Just replaced my 2022 Civic EX for a 2024 HR-V EX-L. I was tired of sitting so low to the ground in the Civic. I felt like I was falling into and climbing out of it all the time. For about the same amount of money the HR-V EX-L had more features. I don’t mind the reduced power of the 2.0 because in normal daily driving in town adequate but an additional 20-30 more pound feet of torque would make a huge difference with acceleration. Owned it 2 days , just came back from a 200 mile trip and got right at the 32 mpg.
@@diaryofshae the Civic EX 1.5 turbo is quicker than the HR-V 2.0 i4 and you will get better gas mileage with the turbo. The HR-V is not as quick passing another vehicle or merging into traffic. I chose convenience over performance and gas mileage.

Cargo: identical with seats up, HR-V wins slightly with seats down
Fuel economy: civic

It needs cooling seats. Not heated seats
Agreed!
Acura nor Lexus has that in fact most bmw and Mercedes don’t have that and u want Honda to have it🤷🏻♂️
We need heated seats in Canada , gets cold up here.
You have to remember. Were not going back to the way things were 5-10 years ago. This is the new price tags for "affordable cars."
Everyone I speak with says just add the Hybrid 2.0 engine in the CRV and it will be a great all around vehicle
For $30,445, just too many people complained of lack of power.
Try 40 000.00$ up here in Canada for EX-L.
😮
I will buy one when they return with the magic seat draped in fine Corinthian leather😊
I am tired of all black interiors. If you live somewhere hot it really makes a difference. There also needs to be air vents in the backseat (where the big useless hole is between the seats) and connectivity for backseat users. Throw a turbo in there and it would be fun to drive. For now I will stick with my Civic w/ turbo.
base model in toronto canada 36k
Interior space wise, how would this compare to a 2017 Jeep patriot? Wifes car is about done for lol
I caught between the two Models Civic Or HR-V simply because of power . Is the HR-V sufficient enough for you so far ?
@@diaryofshae the Civic EX 1.5 turbo is quicker than the HR-V 2.0 i4 and you will get better gas mileage with the turbo. The HR-V is not as quick passing another vehicle or merging into traffic. I chose convenience over performance and gas mileage.
As long as it comes in awd I'm interested
AWD is avialble
It's a nice car, but it's overpriced. The new Kona N cost the same and you get more for the money.
Can I purchase the 2024 honda ex-l or the sport even if i am teenager?
As long as you have a drivers license.
@@VehicleVisionary I do have a drivers licence thank you
Honda please bring back the Magic Seats!
My dealer quote me this for tbe HRV EXL I was looking at.
OTD is over 36k. Whew !!Too much !!($31,000 selling $2200 accessories $33,000 plus $799 doc $199 filling & $2100 tax $200 tag)
Where is the magic rear seats!!!
I am not sure why Honda did away with them. Many people have expressed their disappointment over the lack of magic rear seats.
I’ll buy a new HRV when they put the magic seats back in. But for now, sticking with my 2019!
Honda hrv 2024 ni akan jual di malaysia atau tidak ya?
Yes< I’m sick of dark, very disappointing, always black 😡 I bought this model, going from a passport elite 4 yrs only put 33K miles on it,decided to downsize. Tested a few compacts
What is a magic seat?
The rear seat cushions folded up and out of the way to give a additional option for cargo space.
Does this hrv have auto start stop?
no
Is heated steering wheel an option?
Only if you're in Canada
@@adamanny1234 do you know on what trim levels?
What happen to my magical back seats???
That has been the most common complaint on any of my HR-V videos. I don't know why Honda did away with the magic seats.
