Granted he was talking about the time. The guy pulled out on a secluded street by a rich neighborhood, I think he was just voicing his concerns with potentially having issues, given he doesn't know the area.
As a huge Ferrari fan growing up honestly I've fallen out of the brand since about the 458 Specialè, but I think that's due to my personal taste changing with age, I would do anything for a Spyker for example, I personally think it's gorgeous inside and out, sounds great, has the doors like a Murcièlago, and is something to talk about and open conversations that aren't generic Italian supercar questions. Don't get me wronge, I'd take a 355 GTS, 575 SuperAmercia, 599 SuperAmerica, really almost anything pre 2010. The 458 just rides that line for me, I'll admire one but never specifically dream of one. The modern McLaren line has been cool and respectable but if it came to putting money down I'd pass on pretty much everything except a nicely MSO spec'd 675 LT Spider. I really like topless cars if you haven't picked up on that.
Ferrari would catch on fire and the insurance check gets you a new one... Or the Mclaren breaks all the time but has a warranty... Boy, decisions decisions

Agreed the look of a McLaren is way way better, but I'm based as I love the style of the intake that's just behind the doors, and in front of the rear wheels. The Ferrari is missing it so loses that supercar look, and I feel it's just the name that makes them sell. I notice most Ferrari models don't have that intake (or they're very tiny) which is probably why I'm not a fan of Ferrari. As well as Ferrari (and Porsche) are too much of a cliche that old rich guys buy. Whereas a Lamborghini is more unique than a Ferrari, as well as the Aventador and Gallardo have that intake styling.
@Gus Kipper With the s2000, you get the best of both worlds. You need to put the key in the ignition, turn it, and then press the start button. And you need to keep it pressed down until the engine runs. Not like on modern cars where you just need to push the button and the computer does everything for you 🤩
First time I drove a 458 I was just given the keys and left to it. I fired it up and the radio was on full, took a few minutes just to find the volume knob as its like the black space ship in Hitch Hikers guide (black buttons on a black panel labeled in black) and then had to figure out the park/hand brake...

No the best to me is a 6 speed manual Gallardo. Your right on with the 458 vs 12c but the hurrican is to me a bit to dulled down and common. The Gallardo is cheaper and has the optional manual. So a great looking car that will gain value even with usage and is quite reliable by supercars standards. That's my vote
So when I had my dealer license a few years ago we had both a 458 coupe and roaster in inventory I drove the coupe for a month and completely agree with you about it being more technical and just not as comfortable as you would think it should be.
