Exactly what i was thinking. Who wants a dime a dozen McLaren that breaks down, when you can buy an ultra cool park avenue ultra. Which is way more reliable and practical than the McLaren.
@vehiclefreak409 Well Yes & No. I owned a 2000 (Reg) Park Avenue and the engine (3.8L) was the best thing about it. I ended up having to repair things I never thought I would have to repair...EVER..on a car. Silly Repairs!! Like the Side Mirrors. They leaked ALL the green tint fluid that is between two pieces of glass. Heated Seats...3 Times. Outside Door Handles on both front doors. The list could go on and on... The car I replaced with the 2000 Park Ave was a 1994 LeSabre Limited. Now that was a wonderful car. It had the 3.8L Series 1 engine compared with the series 2 on the Park Ave. So it had more HP and was faster off the line. It was longer then the Park Ave (all models) and 500lbs heavier. Full Analog Gauges with Catcher Mitt Seats. It was one of the best riding cars I have ever owned. It was still going strong at 206K EXCEPT the rear wheel wells rusted out. So we 'Fixed It' with Liquid Nail and heavy rubber over the holes. I sold it to a guy that I made aware of the rusted out area for 1500.00. He drove it for years after that. If it was not for the rust I would have drove that car for 300K or more. It was that nice of a riding car. Now a days I would never buy any Buick or any GM for that matter. The silly repairs have gotten worst over the last 2 decades.
@@OldDood You couldn't pay me money to drive another mid-90's LeSabre, those things rust like crazy, and it's not just "holes in the panels" rust, it's "you're not removing this bolt ever again" rust. We convinced my friends dad to buy a Park Avenue Ultra when we were in high school. Took off the throttle limiter, removed the honeycomb from the maf sensor and removed the baffler from the intake elbow, later on we put on a rebuilt supercharger with a smaller pulley from a Regal GS. I’m sure they’re hardly worth anything anyway because no one has ever heard of Maclaren. You’d think they’d get sued since their name is so similar to McLaren.
Sold a McLaren MP-4-12C to buy a new NSX. It was the best decision I ever made because the McLaren though attractive in many ways was an absolute nightmare to keep on the road. I don't care that McLaren honored the $89,000+ in repairs for the 11 months we kept it! Transmission failure/problems, oil leaks, LED taillights failing, instrument panel lights not working, ECU replacement (2X), leaking struts, creaks rattles, electrical gremlins, parts availability etc. etc. etc. Christ what a beautifully designed but horribly executed and unreliable vehicle. The POS like our Ferrari 348 spent more time in the shop than on the road! Getting into an exotic car and having it start and actually be capable of going on a road trip without having to worry about a problem is truly enjoyable. The NSX is far more reliable, great at everything and better than the McLaren (even when the McLaren was working). The McLaren was never a great car but, it was better (even great at) frustrating and completely ruining your driving experience with its constant issues and breakdowns. Never again.
@@run00n0 There's two older cars in the ending: Ferrari 380GTS and Lamborghini Countach. The one where Tyler says "this is amazing" is in the Countach.
The Countach is an amazing art design to park in your collection. If you are rich enough, you can even mount it on the wall in your house - like how you hung the poster on your wall as a kid and just stared at those lines for hours. It's not a car for driving though. If I had one, I'd park it in my living room, with sofas around it so I could sit and stare at it, or sit in it. Would be nice to start it up and blip the throttle too - but then you'd have to keep it in the garage.
Three $30,000 transmissions😱 my 1965 $1,500 Powerglide has survived hundreds of quarter mile passes in my big block 68 Camaro, A 10 second car still have not broke it !?😌
Ary727 Why would you think that? It wouldn’t be loud or even a worthy replacement for the Mclaren, and he already has one so it would make no sense for the channel to buy another. In fact, there’s 2 cars we can be sure it’s no, one is a MP4-12c and the other is a delorean.

There is something to be said for reliability. For jumping into an ordinary car when it is raining or extremely hot and it just works. And when something does go wrong, which it will if you keep it long enough, an ordinary mechanic can fix it, dealership workshops are common and parts are available and competitively priced.
Well said....I'm still driving a 23 year old Peugeot. Always cheap to maintain, excellent MPG, and cheap to insure. And getting rarer than a lot of high end cars now it's getting older.....lol

Tyler you need to look in the Cadillac STS-V it was a super rare car for GM. They only made 2440 of them and new they were $85,000. You can buy them now for less than $20,000. They had a hand built 4.4L DOHC supercharged V8. Made 460hp and the ride itself was extremely smooth. The interior is oozing with suede, leather, real chrome trim, and Ash Burl wood trim. Look them up man, I've had 2 and loved them
Ever since you sold the Mint offroad overlander modified LAND CRUISER to get a Hummer H2 which I have seen no content off. I got convinced the rumors are true and you are crazy. Very entertaining, smart and creative type of crazy.
Or... a 1968 Jensen Interceptor ! Let's be realistic, Tyler is the type of guy to buy a Jensen Interceptor. You know it. I know it. The Wizard fears it.
For some reason when I heard "tape deck" and "not nearly as comfortable" I thought of the car at the end. I thought nah, too expensive, but there it was and I thought yes, that's a better car than the McLaren. Good job Hoovie!
I guess I'm crazy, but I actually enjoy driving across Kansas. I love how far you can see. Living in Indiana, most everything east of the Mississippi looks about the same and there are so many trees. I hope you were teasing about the Lambo and actually get the 308. Love those.
I parted with my 570S after a year for the same reason. The car is just ridiculously fast, too fast for public roads full of regular cars. It needs to be tracked. And the point about warranty is valid, mine was just about to run out and it would have been $7000 for two years. To add insult to injury Mclaren do not allow any independents to work on their cars (they don't make the manuals or tools available).
Hyped to see that 328 gts hope you got that! My dad had an 87 in Red with beige interior with 16k original miles. Sadly he sold it a few years ago when the market went up. Super fun car though!
Drew: One bad thing happens at the track, he swears off track days. Hoovie: Three bad things happen at the track, he hates that McLaren won't let him track his MP4-12C.
Great to see Drew doing better - wanted to see him drive the McLaren. I think part of exotic car ownership is sharing that driving experience with others. Smart move to sell the car - the dealer for all your repairs was too far away, the warranty period end is a ticking time bomb once it can no longer be renewed, and like you said - you can't really have fun in the car for more than 3 seconds without breaking the law.
That ending was a Countach teaser. He better follow through on that one. Also, cassette decks are sweet. Still use the one in my ride everyday. System's still boomin' on that analog sound yo. Peace Hoovie.
Yeah RON im 12, and my car's got a tape deck. Got my license like 4 years early buddy. It was a reference to LL Cool J's 'Boomin System'. Which I still bump in my ride yo! Smoke that over chief.

I'm commenting on an old story, but can you buy a warranty on these things still? If you bought a 2012 for example can you keep paying for a warranty that actually covers the engine and trans?
Well, is it a 308GTS or a Countach? It does not matter, both cars are really cool......... but if he is trading the MC, and adding some cash, it looks like a carburated v12 is cooming soon to the chanel. I hope it does, i really do. So have succes Tyler!
for a start, thats a 328 GTS, not a 308. and secondly, thats also a countach 25th anniverssary edition, the US spec to be exact, which had fuel injection rather than carburettors. a very, very expensive car. so its very unlikely he's bought the countach
First thing I thought of for the new car is a ferarri 308 , which is the very rare high end car I actually have driven a lot.. odd interior dimensions, and very notchy transmission... insane expensive parts.... am I correct ???
When you said cassette player I knew you were getting a Countach... amazing trade... that McLaren has no soul... the Countach was a poster on every kid’s room in the 80’s... i would do that trade in a heartbeat
2:30 "A long drive, about 7 hours. Zero turn, just a straight line"... 7 hours of straight line, is that where Ford is testing his Mustang ? Just a question of European Boeotian...
Does one really want an engine or transmition from the U.K. ? Beautiful design and amazing ride and specification . Is the U.K. a big enough place to really engineer and sort out an automobile for world class quality and durability ? Seems to be a pattern .
eworldtraveler Really? There may not be many true English manufacturers around any more, but you do know companies like Rolls Royce and Bentley came from the UK before being sold to overseas owners? I’m sure they’re hardly worth anything anyway because no one has ever heard of Maclaren. You’d think they’d get sued since their name is so similar to McLaren.
Goodbye mclaren
Hope you find someone that can afford a track for you
Sold a McLaren MP-4-12C to buy a new NSX.
Based on the ending.
Next video: I bought the Cheapest Lamborghini Countach in the country.
that's not a Countach
And now I gotta drive it 5 hours home. It will probably go as well as that bearded guy driving his '76 Eldo back to PA.
Based on his hint and being at a Ferrari dealer my guess is that he's getting another Ferrari. The same one he had before that blew up.
Drew's expression @6:18 when Hoovie is talking about Hannah... priceless. I can hear his thoughts *perfectly,* "Tyler, shut up SHUT UP _SHUT UP!!!"_
McLaren MP4-12C: I have adjustable hydraulic suspension
Citroen DS21 Pallas: Here, hold my wine
McClaren mp4-12c:
look at my adjustable hydraulic suspension!!!

Being young and not much of a drinker I was bound to make that mistake lol
@@12pagani no, I like it, the joke & the Heinie flavor too.
Bill H lol
Don’t be fooled by the Ferrari, he’s getting a SMART ForTwo... 🤣
Well he sat down in a Countach eventually
That youngster is a miracle kid he is truly blessed!...good to see him.
Scrolled down for this. I'd like to look like this after such a short period after being practically decapitated.
Its hard to watch him move his neck though :( So glad he’s doing fine!
Here are my 2 cents. Like literally, here are my 2 cents. Glad we're keeping you above water Hoovies!
I think you live in the wrong place. If you lived somewhere that the roads made turns on occasion, you might be keeping the car.
Lmao
What he needed to do was drive the McLaren on some of our beautiful twisty Colorado roads while he was here.
Indeed. They are relatively popular cars where I live as there are nice, twisty roads - many without speed limits.
Yeah Kansas is awfully boring in general.
Three $30,000 transmissions😱 my 1965 $1,500 Powerglide has survived hundreds of quarter mile passes in my big block 68 Camaro, A 10 second car still have not broke it !?😌
Nice to see Drew back fit and ready to deal with more of Hoovie's bad decisions! You go young lad!
You can track the car and save your warranty as long as you get a pre and post track inspection at the dealer.
NSX to f355 to Testarossa to MP4-12c to.. you need a bull dude
Oh my god a countachhhhhhh
ah yes Hoovie, your last two old Ferrari's were real winners weren't they? Haha
You bought a Lamborghini Countach?
That car is gonna make a man of you
No if he bought a TT Z32 THAT would make a man of him lol🤣
I'm sure it's a Delorean not the countach
@@goldcrownkingmod he already has a delorean.
Ary727 He already has a DMC Delorean in his collection.
30 years into the future someone will say: " I turned off my autopilot and drove manually for 30 minutes! Omg I'm so tired #HardcoreRetroLife".
goood stufff hoovie! i live in central Indiana and for some reason there is an ‘89 countash at a local luxury car dealership for sale. it was white paint with brown leather interior. i hadnt noticed id never seen one in black until the end of this vid. it looks great. take care sir and best of luck
"The car is totally unreliable but I like it because the AC blows cold, just like a normal car" - Hoovie

Jose M i would much rather see a hummer over a glorified land cruiser
Tyler is a good guy, lot of hate in the comments is not cool.
He has to keep rotating cars to keep the channel interesting.
Okay... Let's go out in the new Bull and I'll explain all the reasons you made the right decision. 💯
Drew speaks the truth. We all need a Drew in our life,
"it has a casette player"
Ok I know it, he bought a 2004-2005 Lamborghini Gallardo
It could be a Murcielago too. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think a Murcielago also has one.
Or... a 1968 Jensen Interceptor ! Let's be realistic, Tyler is the type of guy to buy a Jensen Interceptor. You know it. I know it. The Wizard fears it.

Sweet lord who is that kid? Absolute charisma vacuum, hoovie is so fun and easy to watch
Before i watch the video... you lost an argument with you wife didn't you...
For some reason when I heard "tape deck" and "not nearly as comfortable" I thought of the car at the end. I thought nah, too expensive, but there it was and I thought yes, that's a better car than the McLaren. Good job Hoovie!
Tavarish will not be buying it, it’s not on fire.
better get to it then lmao
yet
That guy’s channel died a long time ago.
I guess I'm crazy, but I actually enjoy driving across Kansas. I love how far you can see. Living in Indiana, most everything east of the Mississippi looks about the same and there are so many trees.
I hope you were teasing about the Lambo and actually get the 308. Love those.
I love that you're being tailgated by a Saturn on the highway, nice little snapshot of driving in the summer.
I get tailgated by a saturn in all four seasons
He was driving too damn slow in the fast lane!
Always good to see Drew on the channel! Kids destined for greatness..
After all this time
Doug:Hoovie is a crazy man
Always
I parted with my 570S after a year for the same reason. The car is just ridiculously fast, too fast for public roads full of regular cars. It needs to be tracked. And the point about warranty is valid, mine was just about to run out and it would have been $7000 for two years. To add insult to injury Mclaren do not allow any independents to work on their cars (they don't make the manuals or tools available).
Please please be that Countach in Denver that is at the end of the video 🤞🏼
Stradman would be jelly :)
$440k for the lambo.
$80k for the 328 gts.
But both are still listed for sale on Ferrari Denver’s website.
Look at the recently sold cars.... there is a 92’ 512 TR and and an ‘88 Testarossa
@@sullyFL Glad to know I wasn't the only one looking at their website.

Hyped to see that 328 gts hope you got that! My dad had an 87 in Red with beige interior with 16k original miles. Sadly he sold it a few years ago when the market went up. Super fun car though!
Hoov, do what every other supercar owning RUclipsr does. To explore it at it's limits, just take it to "Mexico". :)
"Unlike Corvette ZR1s these aren't crashing apparently"

wait WHAT
how has nobody noticed this
Can’t wait to see the video of the new car!
Drew: One bad thing happens at the track, he swears off track days.
Hoovie: Three bad things happen at the track, he hates that McLaren won't let him track his MP4-12C.
Almost dying and having an engine break are very different bad things though...
Watching all the adds to support the Hoovie car collection
I’m so grateful for Drew’s steady recovery. 🙏🏼
IT'S DREW!!! So great to see him up and doing well after his accident! Can't wait to have Drew on Driven Radio later this month!
You shouldn't have bought this car at the first place! However, this can be said about all your other cars too! :))) don't worry... beee happy! :))
The Mc was junk of junk.
you better have a fire extinguisher in the back...
Did no-one get his clue?! It’s not a Countach.
It’s a vehicle that goes very well at 88mph 😉
Yeah RON im 12, and my car's got a tape deck. Got my license like 4 years early buddy. It was a reference to LL Cool J's 'Boomin System'. Which I still bump in my ride yo! Smoke that over chief.
It’s really cool you and Drew hot it off so well.
2:40 lol had to move out of the way for a Saturn...
This video makes me now want too be a subscriber. Glad your doing well bud and it’s Ben a nice time

I’m surprised people still do things as primitive as seeking out a mate. It’s 2020, this is absolutely insane.

Hoovie don’t make me hit, the unsubscribe button.
The Countach is 440k. He didn't buy it.
@@afhyoutube for his financial security, i hope he did not, for our entertainment, i hope he did.
for a start, thats a 328 GTS, not a 308. and secondly, thats also a countach 25th anniverssary edition, the US spec to be exact, which had fuel injection rather than carburettors. a very, very expensive car. so its very unlikely he's bought the countach

I'm so glad Drew had a full recovery. I don't know him, but I can tell the world is a better place with him in it.
I’d say they were benchmarks for high quality cars for many years.
The UK was producing world class vehicles long before you were even a twinkle in your Dad’s eye.
We're sad hoovie the 12c sounded and looked so good...missing a Ferrari in your life I take it....well hopefully our channel can say the same one day soon...also good luck drew!! We will be coming to sub!
