This. Parker was beating the shit out of that car when this happened. This was no coincidence. He is a little trust fund baby. Break the toys and just ask for a new one.
When a vehicle catches fire, the Fire Department opens every compartment in the vehicle to investigate for possible fire extension. Firefighters are rarely concerned about causing further damage to a vehicle, as the majority of the time vehicles they are called to are severely damaged anyway. An axe, usually coupled with a tool called a Halligan (which is essentially a large modified crowbar), are the "bread and butter" tools of the fire service when it comes to forcing entry. In this case, the Fire Department, in order to check for fire extension, saw it fit to try and open the hood of your car by first trying to determine where the latch was. (Often times, the hood release cable is accessible are in grille areas they tried to get to) The fire department certainly will never whack cars to deploy airbags, or degas the A/C system. They were simply trying to open your hood in the standard practice of the fire department.
Hey, if you can't fix it, fuck it up so bad that nobody can fix it. Just kidding Wizard. Although, I've been a technician for 33 years and that's an expression that's used quite often when you have a real POS that always seems to keep coming back for new and different issues.
That Hmmm is one of the most common and dumbarse comments on the internet. It means you don't know shite and you are casting aspersions on somebody without backing it up. In the real world It's a lot easier to figure out what went wrong than what is going to go wrong. What chaps my butt is how these car manufacturers can build these cars for megabucks and screw up what should be routine engineering. I've seen hundred year old aviation engines with better engineering than these modern supercars.
Tell autraotrader nobody reads your guys articles solely because of the way they make you link to them. I could easily see starting at this article and browsing other stuff after, but the fact that I have to look for the article after clicking the link is so annoying that I just automatically close it every single time.
An OSHA inspector once told me that one of the most dangerous environments you can be in is near a burned automobile. The carcinogens from all the burnt alloys and plastics are deadly.
My theory : Parker drove it hard since it wasn't his car. Hot California summer + F355 thats been driven like its been stolen. Catches fire. BTW who ever blames the power steering fluid to be the culprit? Its like going to autozone and saying you need blinker fluid...
If it was leaking PS fluid its not an unreasonable theory. He's not an insurance investigator. Power steering fluid absolutely can and has started many vehicle fires.
Newton??? My father is from Newton. He grew up there and worked at the Dillon's near downtown Newton while in high school as a stocker/bagger. I have fond memories of spending many holidays in Newton visiting my grandparents. The city pool in the summer, and the downtown area with brick streets, and shops, so many memories of life in a better time. Nearly every Christmas growing up we'd have snow, and even some during Thanksgiving. We'd stuff our faces and watch football til we fell victim to the ol' mighty Tryptophan. My grandparents lived off Alice Avenue in a late 60's built Split Level home, near the old K-Mart in town. We'd go to Hutchinson, KS to the Pizza Hut for family pizza night's when we'd visit. The drive from our home in the DFW area of Texas was about 7 hours. My grandma worked for Beechcraft in Wichita, KS; making parts for the planes, my grandpa was in WW 2, and then a fire fighter after returning home from the war. My father was born in Newton KS, 1946. His brother 1952. They're all passed on now, but man Newton will always hold a dear place in my heart. I hate the water in Newton; has a funny chemical taste that you'd never forget if you tried it or drank it ever. My mother was from Goodland KS, I recall some fond memories up there as well, but we visited my father's parents far more than my mom's. Newton is a great little sleepy town, and eventhough it's been since 2013 since I visited (grandma's funeral); I miss it from time to time.
Wasn't that a stock ls? Could've been an easy fix since the swap is already done. Just use a different oil pan or a dry sump system. Fixing it would have made more sense even if you're over it and would have sold it. Whoever bought it got a spanking great deal if he can work on his own cars, even if not, still an amazing deal. I guess after only buying "the cheapest" everything, you provide some to others as well.
@Big Timer what? Are you that dumb you think people buy Ferraris so they can drive them like a fucking funeral car?? Hoovie drove it hard too or did you not watch those videos? It's nobody's fault. The car was faulty and nobody knew..
Honestly coming back after a year is so funny. So many people in the comments before the fire even happened warned you as to the problems with this car, but you never read the comments. Amazing
Quick question my Dad's friend has a 2003 Porsche with a boxer 6 How hot is it to put an LS motor what do you think it cost to do that if you already have the motor
Hoovie, if you end up keeping Apollo, consider switching over to a Trailblazer SS oil pan. They are front sump which is awful for RWD applications which is why the Trailblazer SS is notorious for blowing up LS2s at hard launch. However, in your application this might just be perfect.
"Hey Hoovman, I smell gas should I keep driving this Ferrari that is notorious for catching fire or have it towed to the shop?" ....drive it, what could happen.
The hole in the grill is explainable. As a firefighter.... You are trained that you can pop the hood on a normal car by going through the grill and pulling on the hood latch cable. Unfortunately, the fireman didn’t realize the Ferrari pops from the cowl.
nyoxbrother interesting. Why would a firefighter want to start with opening the hood? Clearly the fire was at the back of the car...Habits are sometimes really destructive.

danny13947 it’s good think he has this client as 2 cars sitting in his shop he worked on before they blew up in a big way. Not saying much for his skills right there.
The Dark Phantom The Ferrari wasn't his fault because old Ferrari's can be very suicidal and the 911 was completely Hoovie's fault. He noticed he lost oil pressure and instead of shutting it down immediately and getting towed off the track, he drove off the track, parked it and left it idling, and was constantly revving it to show people the sound it was making, just like the original 911 engine. Hoovie killed both of those engines himself by handling a loss of oil pressure very poorly. his engine blew up, the motors were defective
Charlieswag9000 no, running a wet sump at a track is a brain defect
Junkerbunker so you have successfully diagnosed that was the reason his engine threw a rod bearing?
Junkerbunker it was a used LS2 engine, a bearing can spin at anytime, its even possible it was worn slightly from lack there of previous maintenance. Im sure the wet sump didnt help the engine spin a rod bearing
I was waiting for Doug DeMuro to throw a rose onto the engine and give you his condolences along with a handshake. THAT would have been awesome.

When I clicked this video, my first thought was "Tavarish is getting it"
No wonder the Wizard is referred to as the Wizard: his singing is magical
*I’ll leave*
That Prius probably has 900hp
It has the graphics from the fast and furious Orange Toyota Supra!
@@mylesgray3470 Wow I just noticed that, it's been a long day lol
The whole video I was more interested in that Prius!!!!!😂😂 what's the deal with it??
That orange Prius tho👍👍👍, is that ever goes up for sale you gota buyer right here 💯
the realities of a hoopD fleet thanks for the channel Hoovie....your channel has made my 9 year old a car fan!..he only watches your car reviews...(he doesn't like Doug)..lol
Wizard... America's Got Talent wants you !
Good job on the singing wiz, cant beat the classics.
You're a very funny man Hoovie !
I'd love to hang out with you some time. Hahaha !!
Nice Prelude in the background ;)
👀👀👍
Could it be that Parker drove it like a maniac?
Dr O.H, german cars, swedish cars, french cars, italian cars, they are all better than japanese.
@@dodecahedron1, so? Reliability isn't everything. Besides, there are a lot of very reliable European cars.
MrPaukann: French and italian cars? All better? I dont believe so.
Zuronium Azuritum, yeah, not all. The can be better for sure, and may be on average, but not all of them are better.
MrPaukann which ones?
Sorry for your loss. How much for the rims?
Whats that silver car parked next to the 911? is it a prelude?
This will be the first Ferrari that will be rebuilt with FIERO parts! Instead of making a Fiero into a Ferrari!!
3800 sc swap would be so funny but slow
This would be an awesome idea! Put a Iron Duke in the back of it!
A Fieri?
The Ferrari really did turn itself into a Fiero if you think about it. 😆
The Firemen where looking to cut your battery cables, it’s standard procedure here in NY for a vehicle accident that is on fire or potentially going to go on fire. Sorry for your losses
Hey Wizard, I’m having trouble finding your latest cd on eBay. Any hints?
You got a new (used) 911. Can't wait for you to show everyone!
If everybody had a "wizard"..the world would be a better place.....#nomorecrookedmechanics
Walley World I’m jealous that I don’t know a “wizard”. My fleet would be a lot bigger than it is now that’s for sure.
If you could do you’re own shit maybe your world would be a better place. I don’t consider car guys as car guys until they’ve had experience in wrenching. Hoover is a beginner. You’re not a car guy if you know what generation a gtr is, you’re a fantasy mechanic.
I think that if people are getting into cars, they better do their own work.
Well 2 cars sitting there went to crap shorty after he worked on them and spending big money on. I wouldn’t trust this “wizard” with a geo metro at this point. He’s 2 for 2 on this video.
Nicholas Hillyer the millennial generation are pretty worthless with a wrench.
The Dark Phantom well, most. If you tune your tastes just right, people are supermechanics because of the endless info that you didn’t have back then called the internet.
Wtf is tavarish going to do with that? His HOA is gonna start fining him for having too many broken cars on his front lawn.
Its florida. Hes fine. Lol
Ya'll just jelous I own a Ferrari he will cry
HOA?
I hate HOA's they can suck a fat dong
@@FactsOfDeath homeowners association
I’m kinda star struck to see that lotus esprit in the background, and you collaborating with Travarish!
That Prius with the F&F Supra livery is hilarious
