just listen to the red barons rules; only attack when your enemy is clear in your vision; only one person should go after one target and always have the altitude advantage.
So in a Russian yak I need to get altitude advantage over the bf109 and fw190 flying at 5000m? You realize not every plane acts the same at altitude...like you wouldn't take a p39 at 5000m and dogfight a bf109 at 4500m he has SUPERIOR altitude performance over the p39s and p63s and yaks....like if there a zero at 4000m you're not gonna wanna climb to 5000m in your p39 you're going to get ran all over at that altitude! Sometimes you gotta fly defensively and bait the target down to fight ON YOUR TERMS not theirs....its ok to merge and start a fight w an enemy at the same altitude as you, AS LONG AS YOU HAVE MORE SPEED THAN THEM you can attack at the same altitude....shit even in my me410 I'll meet bf109s at 4500m up but I'm going 550kmh in a straight line while he had to climb to me he's high yeah but he's high and slow and that's a dead 109 being at 4000m at 200kmh my me410 runs circles around em....
I have another tip: When you get set on fire, immiedately turn your power to 0% and turn off the engine, this way in most cases the fire will go out without causing much damage.
As far as I know this is not an actual mechanic and just a myth. This really wouldnt work if there was a fuel fire as shutting off the engine does not stop it from leaking out of the tank
@Morahman7vnNo2 burning fuel is no longer cycling around the aircraft setting everything on fire and fuel is not heated up even more with the heat of the engine so it gives you more time to let the fre die out
You could say but in reality he only used 5 of his planes and also made it very clear that the head on tactic only suits his play style of, yeah, "im gonna waste all my planes"
I don’t know. My thing is to go in there, survive with one plane as much as I can and get as many planes I can. Feels more realistic and feels like a rock star when you get 13 kills without single death. But that goes with knowing limitations of your plane as well as limitations of a plane you are fighting against. For example, if you get typhoon mk1 just keep the speed and altitude advantage and you are faster than anything on the map. Boom and zoom and 10-0 is not that hard at all. That’s one plane tho. There are multiple planes that exceed every other plane in something. That’s just how I like it I guess.
I only ever played Air Arcade for the first like month that I played War Thunder. I'd usually end a match with more deaths than kills. Then, I just dove into Air RB and learned through trial and error. After about 2 weeks, I jumped back into Air Arcade and got 12 kills in my P51 before getting shot down. 12 kills in 1 plane! If you really want to hone your dogfighting skills, stop playing Arcade and start playing RB. It teaches you to conserve your ammo, when to shoot and have a high chance of a kill, target prioritization, and how to control your plane a lot better.
I watched a documentary about the P-51 Mustang and one of the pilots said you have to go into a dogfight with attitude that you are going to win. Basically what you call the Berserker attitude. Aside from your aiming skills you must also be pretty lucky. Watching that video you hardly ever got attacked. When I play if I try to go for an plane that's on the edge of the battle, someone always gets there just before me. If I head for the melee I end up with several planes attacking me at once or a continuous succession of attacks with the inevitable result in very short order. You seemed to cruise around in a carefree manner picking off the enemy one by one.

Any tips for the British planes that tend to have their guns on the wings instead of on the nose? Cause im doing everything right, firing in 2 seconds burst, booming and zooming on lonely fighters/bombers, even doing the air manoeuvres in time and correctly yet I get killed first.
Playing with a 400 m gun convergence, and playing with altitude as much as possible to come fast in close range, maybe one turn to use the manœuvrability advantage and get out and climbs as far/high as possible, you have to know what you are facing to not leave when you are engaging a faster plane
Instead of blindly setting your convergence at the "approved" 400m, try setting it at a range you are comfortable with. After some trial and error, I have set mine at 600m for 50s and 800m for cannons. That works for me.

If I kill all my oponents, then no one can kill me. Best advice.
Me: gets to critical hits no kill
Random p26 behind me: one hit kill
Thank you for this video and great intro. I hope you've been keeping on the videos over the years I will sub if you have any recent videos☺️
His tip: Buy every crew slot and go kamikaze xD
I’m only good at killing ground targets and losing aaa yes depression
I normally get like 5 air kills, I tried it out and I got 13, can confirm it works
"THIS is a barrel role" (Proceeds to literally not do a barrel role)
It was a barrel roll lol
First scene; NEVER GO FOR THE FIRST PLANE, GO FOR THE LAST ONE....... RESIST THE TEMPTATION. Second scene; SEE WHICH ONE IS CLOSEST AND WATCH ME KILL IT FIRST...... OK?
This helps me with tactics but I gotta learn controls, I don't even know how to look behind me without moving the olane xD i do well in my low br (1.7), i usually get 1st or 2nd place, but my team hasnt won in like 12 games >.>
How i play: aims plane towards ground target or enemy plane and then... Current objective: WATCH YOUR PLANE GO KAMIKAZE STYLE INTO ENEMY
This looks so easy. Are you playing on PC?
J21a is just op and undefeatable
Until it faces a japanese hehehhe
Italk about realistic of course, in arcade every plane can turn well
The biggest problem for me is actually predicting where i have to shoot to hit the enemy before the circle shows me where i have to shoot
Aim just in front of the circle if ur an arcade player and for realistic try to aim with elevation on the target and compensate for the lead by aiming further ahead of the aircraft depending on speed and angle of attack
Use a stick of some kind and find out that there's a lot more control involved to do that aileron roll and stay in a straight line...
Once I got 13 kills with one plane it was a Bf 109 F-4 😂
I play RB ... good game is if I kill one. Anything more is superb :D
120 matches (I just started), 84 kills ... I suck hard. But still have fun :)
I play arcade. I suck ass
It's hard to get into that. I tried but I got fed up with spending five minutes getting to the battle and then getting shot down, usually in under a minute. Then waiting for the next game... and repeat. I guess at least players play as a team though. Arcade is all selfish kill-stealing, six a/c attacking one enemy leaving everyone else unprotected etc. Suggest that we play as a team and you're met with abuse and piss-taking. Oh well.
Anyone else just get their pilot knocked out in two shots before you can even fire?
Sometimes yeah
Not a whole lot of head on attack techniques got passed on to rookies. Can't imagine why, lol.
What is your sensitivity settings at? And special keys as well???
jus the perfect example plane! and it's the same one i'll be using :)
i played as a German fighter and got destroyed but when I played as the soviets I got a lot of kills
I go head on in about every fight, but, why are you playing AB? Rb is where it's at, and i can get a shit ton of kills in AB, no death, easy but rb is harder.
I played more AB at the time of release of the video. To be honest with you, this video isn't all too great of a representation of my tactics as I've gotten more consistently better in AB, play RB and do very well, and now have a squadron. But yeah, RB is definitely a good mode.
@@Tankenstein Nice mate, that was a quick reply too.
doing well in rb requires more calculated hit and run tactics. or what they call boom and zoom in this community. well boom and extend also works fine. if u really r a headon person, u r leaving ur chances to 50/50 with a player around your level, and your game is gonna to be harder to improve
@@royhsieh4307 just yesterday I continuously try air RB for the past seven days, as a player who before on his Xbox and now on his laptop played arcade boom and zoom did not make sense
@@TheStig_TG arcade boom and zoom works when u really dig on k/d ratio, but usually wont put u at the top of the gamestats, bnz in arcade gives people a pretty low score, but for rb sometimes it can help u survive against that whole other team. in rb u have to choose engagements or maybe a good plane that is decent with that bnz tactics, but in arcade u just choose plane
i play very similar, i do understand UR "berserker" way
bro whys this sound like GDILIVES
