I don't own anything. All right goes to the Paramount+ Star Trek
This was the best part of the show... She is amazing
Loved this one, La’an had to let this out and she did it. The whole episode was perfect
I was pleased that the singing added to character development.
Typically anytime a show does a musical they use it to further character arcs
OMG this was freaking fantastic. I usually find stuff like this dorky, but they did it masterfully. I couldn’t get the smile off my face! 👍🏻
I thought this musical episode was gonna be cringe, but OMG, it’s become one of my favorite episodes! 😂
Every control freak's worst nightmare: having emotions they can't control.
La'an is the main character in this episode and probably the best character on the show.
Change my mind
Change your own mind. It's not our property. Its yours.
It's weird to watch because this is Star Trek. But when you look away and just listen, this is a good song and she is a good singer!
If you've been watching Strange New Worlds, then the weirdness still fits. It was excellently done, and I was skeptical.
@@paulpearson99 I feel like it was better to watch this episode out of context. Still feels weird to have a musical like this in Trek
@@AutoRevLifenah Trek has episodes where they're in Robin Hood or Alice in Wonderland
The actress who plays La'an is professionally trained as a singer and it really shows here. I think her song is definitely the best solo of the story, and likely the best song.
This was the best song of the show
Absolutely agree. This gave us some much needed exposé on how La'an is feeling about seeing Jim again, and when she falls back on the bed, us getting a glimpse at what could have been, truly drives home just how depressing this is for her.
Okay, I'm sorry, but... after seeing La'an and Kirk's chemistry and watching OG Kirk scream "Khaaaan!!!" in Star Trek II: Wrath of Khan, can anyone else picture Kirk screaming "Laaaa'an!" under very different circumstances?
😂😂😂
00:10 "Who am I kidding? I've never met that side of me."
La'an's song was the only one with imaginary aspects. It's because she was pouring her heart out to *herself*. The one she was revealing this side to was her. Admitting it is the first step.
Huh. I didn't think about it that way. That's a really, really good way of looking at it. I'm gonna go with that.
This was a beautiful song, and I honestly was surprised at how well it evoqued a sense of tragedy for me when she fell back on the bed, and got flashes of her and Jim and she was pregnant.
This is one of my favorite episodes of Trek.
Anyone who takes themselves too seriously needs to listen to this. Anyone who is burnt out from duty needs to listen to this. Awesome performance
Thanks for putting the music online! This was my all time favorite episode of and Star Trek ever!!
This episode will be re-watch many many times
Christina saved the show. I'm gonna say that her story arc here and "Tomorrow and.." was genuine emotion there. I haven't seen it that good since Doris Day from "The Man Who Knew Too Much" when she wept after being drugged by her husband when her child was abducted and wept. Really impressive.
This one episode gave us more overall character development than any other episode of ST.
This part of the Musical of Star Trek Strange New Worlds: S2 E9 really captured the emotion of La'an and Jim. It is also ironic that it shows the opposite relationship of La'an Khan (A Relative of Khan) and James T. Kirk prior to James T. Kirk meeting Khan (Botany Bay) in the future.
Love her voice.
You can feel in emotion she puts into this song
Studio: We need more from this source material
Writers: I'm givin it all shes got
Damn it Jim i’m a doctor not a song writer
She killed it, Jim.
I do loved how the use of "technobabble" in there lyrics❤
Damn, even an alternative timeline James T Kirk can always whoo a girl and leave her so hook on!
She's a good singer. Excellent
Nichelle Nichols, whose first love was the musical theater, was smiling in Heaven.
Well done on the lyrics and singing. I was surprised that they not only pulled it off with a musical Star trek episode but, as it turns out this fits right up there with one of the best.
More like La'an Noonien _Sings_
She's got a great singing voice. She could do an awesome burlesque number like Aguilera did. Very strong voice. Well done.
Star trek the musical I would definitely watch that❤❤
Loved it; made me cry.
That’s Great👍🏼 So emotionally WOW❤
Very romantic and very well done.
Absolutely the best singer in the show
Her character development is awesome 😢
Loved this one!
i freakin hate musicals. But this was the best episode yet!
Right there with ya, this was surprisingly good.
I want to learn this piece! I shared it with my voice teacher today, and he it could be fun. Now to find a soundtrack…
She's 100% Disney Princess!!
i JUST FELL IN LOVE WITH THAT GIRL DAMM
reminds me of that one Vanessa Hudgens song sang in the first High School Musical.
The best track in that episode...I'm thinking of the Greek movie...all the tracks are on spotify
Jim totally played La'an in this episode. La'an violated the Temporal Prime Directive by telling Kirk about Toronto so that she could tell him that she is in love with him. Kirk's like, ah, gosh-darnit, too bad you didn't catch me a couple months ago because - yeah - I just knocked another chick up... so, yeah. Bummer, huh?
But he NEVER had a relationship with his son (the boy wasn't named David Kirk), as was made clear in The Wrath of Khan, and his relationship with his baby-mama, Dr. Marcus was also very short-lived. As she said, "You had your world and I had mine, and I wanted him in mine...." So, Kirk just used David Marcus' conception as an excuse not to get involved with Khan Noonien Singh's great-great-great-granddaughter. I love this show because it gives hardcore Trekkers like me treats like this. Kirk being Kirk.
Not necessarily so.
I mean we don't know if that conversation has actually happened yet between Carol & Kirk. I had a feeling the scene you mention in this Ep is building us to it next season as a way of bridging that gap between TOS & TWoK.
totally crushing on her dam 🤫🥰
Her voice is killer
This wasn't sung *to* Kirk; she was alone singing *about* Kirk (and generally being able to take chances)
I loved this ep
I like the "Rocky horror picture show" feel of this episode
I was getting more Buffy The Vampire Slayer musical vibes than Rocky Horror
@@dazlovescarter I was only using RHPS as an example but yes Buffy as well.
The klingon sequence did it for me..
@@shanenway3684 that was hilarious and good to see Hemmer back even if he was now a Klingon
Sounds like a Disney song
best episode of star trek since in the pale moonlight
Disney Princess status confirmed!
Fabulous singing and acting 😂
Much better music than the Buffy episode.
how big is this ship? the rooms are bigger than on Enterprise - D
I’m sure the ensigns have to sleep in the hall to make up for the room lol
Obviously the ship is smaller but the crew is small, about 230. Compared to thousands on Enterprise D. But still lots of room on Enterprise D. If you watch on youtube titled Enterprise D is huge, it's very interesting.
Only 200 crew at this point.
Officer quarters are large, but that is only ~ 10 of the crew. The rest of the ship have to share living quarters and bunk etc.
She's Chief of Security. She rates a big room.
It's just shame Kirk is taken already.
That was her singing, all the kudos to the actress. But still... A Star Trek musical episode? Really???
What's so wrong about that? It's campy Star Trek, the way it's meant to be.
Remember the Next Gen cast being stuck in Robin Hood?
Besides writers have been trying to figure out a Star Trek musical for years and years, they originally wanted it for Next Gen, and then DS9 both didn't pan out, then they tried again for Enterprise and it didn't pan out again. Strange New Worlds finally got it througj
@@Icybubba Good point. I actually remember enjoying the Robin Hood story, to be honest, as silly as it was. I just didn't think we'd ever see this on Trek. But they did well.
No one remembers cop rock and thé klingon
s look est Luke a cheap 80s uncoordinated boy bandes with cheesy matching coustumes
Look this song is nothing any Vampire Diaries fangirl hasn’t thought of before. Just saying XD
OST please....
Star trek is a bout space aventure excitement exploration there is to much tochy feely going on blow somethig up for crying out loud
Okey musical number. It was a bit too long.
For theatricals, this is actually quite normal length
If you ever wanted to know what was meant when a show "jumped the shark", this is it.
I don't think so you miserable person
Nope, this was too much like TOS Christine. Can we have female characters that are not stalking male crew members?
She wasn't stalking anyone, she had a crush, she confessed to him later in the episode, they handled it like adults and there we go
lol the lip sync is almost as bad as Madonna. Yikes!
Tf! she's literally a singer in real life. Go learn how to appreciate good stuffs.
What? Christina sings it. She crushes it. She is a major star in the making.
It's like a bad joke
