One thing I love playing with Japanese air in low tier is that people try to out turn you like lol... Also that you'll get punished hard for your mistakes... Shoot too much, you'll run out of ammo; maneuver too hard, you'll loose speed; get hit, you're dead

Their main fighters have the same characteristics as well as their enemies. German and American navy planes are quicker, more heavily armed, usually more sluggish, while spit and zero can turn well but can't shoot shit, especially mk1 and 2a spit.

idk about Smigol but I remember someone else, I think either Whip Energy or DEFYN, showing their bindings, and they've worked great for me: Left Shift and Left Ctrl is throttle, W and S is elevator, F is flaps down (and not toggle flaps), G is flaps up (move gear to ; or something). Those are the main things to change

The japanese techtree is such a nice tree. The planes are so comfortable to fly, and the tanks might be a bit painful to run, but never without a bite of their own.
remember: every plane in the A6M line: use tracers for 20mm. Every plane in the Ki-61 line (apart from Ki-61 Hei) Use stealth for 20mm. Basically tracers for Type 99 20mm and stealth for Ho-5 20mm. When it comes to 30mm, both Type-5 and Ho-155 use tracers. It makes these planes so much more enjoyable when you carry nuke dispensers.
Nice defensive flying and reversals, Just recently bought everything in the Japanese air tree I must say that this tree is the hardest by far everyone just outruns you and everyone has better armament than you but disciplining yourself to use your great climb rate and maneuverability to your advantage is very rewarding in-itself when you manage to pull it off, enjoyed this tree so much very unique way to play. my new favorite air tree simply because it filters clown pilots.

Did they recently buff the damage of Japanese 20s or something? Last time I played them (admittedly, a few months ago) I hit a stalling Yak in the J2M3 and only after 50 rounds impacting his plane did I get a fire set. I know ShVAKs got buffed, so maybe these too?

Looks like you were using tracer belts for the Type 99s They have like half of a gram of TNT equivalent in explosives compared to their tracerless variant

which one? the Ki-84 Ko with 2x 20 and 2x 12.7? to be fair, I didnt like flying it, weak armament for that BR. Only the Hei is very good with its guns to be honest.

all guns got buffed. Japanese Type-99 Mod 2 and Type 5 30mm guns are insane with tracer rounds
