I've always found dolls creepy. As a child, I loved my stuffed animals, but I hated dolls. I thought that they were scary because their eyes were too life-like. Whenever I got one as a present, it went in my toybox or closet, because I didn't want them sitting out where I could see them, especially at night.

So, what im gathering is that the dude was most likely drunk, so he was obvi seeing things. He thought the baby was a fake possesed baby doll, but when he put it on the table and started stabbing it, he thought he was tearing the stuffing out of a baby doll. But he was actually stabbing and killing the baby and literally cut its head off..
