Old American station wagons are getting pretty hot now. That "Trike" is part of Americana and the VW engine sounds good. All Chevy "Nomad" wagons are special and worth saving.
Man that Sugar bear front end is worth more then he payed for the bike! Minus the nostalgia 🤘 those are the only cool trikes I would ride if it was the end of time and a trike was my only option 😂
I remember seeing those trikes in the 70's. They were so radical back then, so cutting edge. Today they don't seem like much, but what a great memory from the past.
same ol trope march everyone out when something shows up so much posing and those rear window deflectors were to keep dust off the rear window as we all lived on dirt roads..better keep them
saw the green gasser on Staten Island a number of years ago, must've been going to its new home. looked fantastic in person and got a thumbs up from the guy delivering it.
Great car! My parents bought a new 61 Bel Air Parkwood wagon. We were always taking trips up and down the eastern seaboard in it with 3 kids and two adults.
Any leads on 61 Chevy Nomad Impala wagon my father just passed left me his 61 my brothers seen it on the road I'm the youngest of 5 boys I'm 40 years old never seen it Rollin promised the old man on his death bed inTwo years I'd have it on the road .. plan is to have moms who I'm fortunate enough to still have around take her on a road trip in it ...
Growing up in the 50s and 60s I fondly remember my Dad's ( then new) 1961 Chevy Brookwood wagon. Base model with a straight six and a 2 speed automatic. White with blue interior.
The wagon is awesome! and the right colors too! I have a 63 Biscayne wagon that's almost the same color. There are few of those trikes running around NE Florida they're pretty cool especially if unable to ride a bike anymore.
3:53 My grandfather and I make these. Weve made a good 15 or so now. Take an old 70's Super beetle cut the front half off, use the center frame rail to attach the motorcycle fork to, and Bam, inastant Trike. RUPP was the company that did these fiberglass bodies, but with motorcycle engines not VW.
7:20 I would expect his guys to know a bit more about these.... as I mentioned above. We have customers in line to get these built custom to their specs... One form GASMONKEY would fetch i would guess, at least DOUBLE what we charge. He paid 3100, We charge about 5000... He could probably get an easy 10-15k when hes done depending how much he puts into it. thats like 7-12 grand profit, before you pay anyone.
70 SS Chevelle. Under a cover in a garage 35 years. Sisters husband passed and she is selling. Cold beer and a time capsule Chevelle! What more could you want! Someone is gonna get a real nice car with a history.
Hey that American Cowboy MAN is a treasure!! His hat and his beard he looks like a real patriot!! GOD BLESS THE USA AND CANADA (GOD HELP US TOO!!). Chevy Nomad ROCKS!!
I Love the 61 wagon. Myself the car screams nostalgia Super Stocker. In my mind, I would replicate the Chevrolet Z11 from 63. And i know business is business but im against selling to overseas clients.
$6500 holy shit that guy stole that wagon. I see goodies in it also!!’ I see maybe a tach the rear end visors AND I bet you the luggage rack was laying around somewhere!!
This is Adolph Thornton Sr cousin from Chicago I know Dolph 🐬 jr.since he was a little baby. I will get to the point I follow your show and I like it keep doing what you do.
Richard take that trike put u a 15 gallon keg in the trunk .Get about 25 ft fuel line, run you a I Vee line to front seat . You won’t have to worry with all the beer cans
Lol when I saw the big boy burger statue made me think of the one in fort Wayne Indiana out in waynedale.. gets stolen all the time . I just found it.. lol
U guys have made all types of cars but a fkn Low Rider!!! Its time Mr Rawlings build a nice simple low rider with hydrulics wire wheels sound system nice paint job and interior please and do a giveaway
If I had that Chevy I'd paint the roof back white and clear the rest but try to match the blue under the front bumper and other places. Leave the hubcaps and tires, drop a decent engine and trans and all new brakes and drive it daily cause it looks so good showing it's age but I'd have to touch the blue up and paint the roof back white and roll around in the car and leave the suspension the way it came from the factory cause where I live, riding low doesn't make sense the way the roads are...
I think even with the rusty tailgate, that wagon was worth $9k at the time of sale. So $6,500 left some pretty good meat on the bone. If that guy drops $5k on a slighty used small block, transmission, new brake & fuel lines, and some new interior. I think it's worth $15k all day long. Or better yet, quick flip it for $9k, and let someone else worry about how far they want to go with the resto!
My mother had one just like it except for it was red and very rusty. Someone pulled out in front of her and it folded it in half. Michigan has it's way of claiming car's from the decay from salt.
09:36 I could never ride this, I'd get too comfortable too relaxed sittin back like that, next thing i know my feet slip off the pegs and my day just got real bad!!!
The tailgate window would roll down and those deflectors would redirect air to the back and create a draw through the whole vehicle, if you had the front windows down too.
I would go LOWRIDER on the 61. Gold trim & rims with etching. Along with the traditional paint tricks like water drops & lace. Imagine all that on three wheels cruising.
It would be nice if we saw some more builds like back in the day instead of the straight flips, it is nice to see the straight flips-- but the builds were always more fun.
The track has a hitch on it so now you could literally watch it isn't Volkswagen with I love it I love it I love it I love it I love it I love it it might be one of the best things you've ever bought in Richard
I'll take any year Impala wagon especially a '61! Not that they made an SS model but that is the 1st year of the Impala SS my Dad's friend has a true '61 SS with a 409 Big block and 4 speed manual the 1st SS Chevy made.
I'm just a nobody who would very much like to be able to afford to track down and aquire classic cars. Richard is basically done with that adventure. Now it's just the Richard Rawlings show which is absolutely fine with me.
I love that “61” Nomad.
Old American station wagons are getting pretty hot now.
That "Trike" is part of Americana and the VW engine sounds good.

20:50 "tires aren't really that good"
The understatement of the year so far.

Is that a sugar bear front end
same ol trope march everyone out when something shows up so much posing and those rear window deflectors were to keep dust off the rear window as we all lived on dirt roads..better keep them
I thought the deflectors we're to keep the wind out ,guess I was wrong .
Good evening everyone i hope all is well with you all and your families and thank you for sharing your stories
Right now richard has a good awesome team best hes had in a long time ❤
Hub caps perfect dang wow!
Good ol’wire wool certainly cleaned up that nomad bumper that had sat since 86 an absolute treat!
The trim and chrome looks great
That rollback is so sick. The forces are fire
Here in So Cal the way it sits probably around 12 - 15 Grand all day.
The Demon 170 is insane especially with the GMG wrap on it
saw the green gasser on Staten Island a number of years ago, must've been going to its new home. looked fantastic in person and got a thumbs up from the guy delivering it.
One of the funniest episodes I’ve seen in a long time
Richard and the Boyz, up to some good stuff as usual!
Great car! My parents bought a new 61 Bel Air Parkwood wagon. We were always taking trips up and down the eastern seaboard in it with 3 kids and two adults.
My parents had the 61 Nomad 9-passenger, 283 ci, with electric rear window. Always fun riding backwards looking at other drivers.

Those Chrome air dams on the rear of the car. Are designed to keep dust and dirt from accumulating on the rear window glass.
61s are gems. Dads got a 61 belair 283. Love that year
We had 59. 63. Impala wagons. Unc always went upscale with powerslides and rear electric. Windows

If you bring us the junk beetle chassis, 4500- 5,000 USD we will make you one custom. Just like that.

Man I love that wagon!! Love to see a build on one of these.
Never saw a 4-door Nomad before. The Tri-Five versions were all 2-doors. Always liked the `61 body style, this thing needs a 409 to make it legit !
I worked at a panelbeating paint shop for awhile....cleaned out a wreck to prep for repair and found someones ear under the front seat 😬
If you pause at 5:49, it literally looks like Richard is making a deal with himself 😂
Check the date codes on the Nomad's tires. They may not be safe to drive on.
I'd LOVE to see a build with that Wagon.... Nomad wagon is my dream car. 57ish would be preferable but the 61 has nice lines too.
Hi Richard I'm from Pakistan and I'm your big fan ❤❤

Bel air Biscayne Impala. Nomad.

My first car was a 1962/2-door/Impala,....bought it in 1980 for ($100),......Ran great, huge steering wheel,........*miss it*....😢...!!
I think that's the coolest chit Richard has bought all year, build this thing to the max level VW hp,wheelie machine at the ready...XD

"They see my face, the price doubles." Goes undercover wearing a a tee-shirt that says GAS MONKEY GARAGE in big letters and a guy videoing him. 🙂
They prey on the old guys who think Richard wants to be their friend just to get a good deal.
Green trike is rad ,,,dig it
Good job Kenny 😊
Think I speak for everyone here would love to see sue on the show even just a one off have watched this show since day one of fast and loud love it ❤
What a find! I was hoping Richard would do something to that wagon. Put an LT 6.2 with a Whipple blower. Well, money talks!
What degreaser do you use on the engine bay? Great video to all that helped
I’m coming to pick up my Skid-mark soon.
