Serpentor outshadowed Cobra Commander in terms of military command and leadership. You know villains are all alpha male the dominants. Personally i love villains character their story origins and dialogue.

I always forget how great the original GIJoe Marvel comic was. Growing up I had a friend who’s parents didn’t let him watch much tv and so he collected the GIJoe comics which was how he learned about the GIJoe mythology. I just have fond memories of looking at his GIJOE comics and reading that issue where Serpentor made his first appearance. We all wanted the Serpentor flying Chariot with the action figure. I still own my childhood figure. Anyways, this was a very entertaining and informative video and I look forward to seeing more your content! Cheers!

Cobra is to GI Joe universe what Hydra is to Captain America/Agents of Sheild
both are terrorist organizations with ties to an ancient reptilian race (Cobra La in the Himalayas for Cobra, an unamed hooded reptilian humanoids from space for Marvel. both have great advanced technology. both seek world domination.)
considering both had comics published by Marvel in the 80s, makes me wonder why GI Joe and Captain America never had a crossover
heck u could argue that Destro the GI Joe equivilant of Dr. Doom. An aristocrat with a metal mask and wants world dimination
also DC comics had their own Cobra organization. Kobra Cult aka Strike Force Kobra created by Jack Kirby in the 1970s (who also made Hydra) Emporor Sepentor and Lord Naga/ King Kobra have a similar uniform. King Kobra aka Jeffery Burr also advanced the cult/syndicates technology. Ultimatly tho, Where is Cobra Organization wants world Domination,
Kobra Cult wants world destruction (even Ras Al Ghul hates these guys)

I have always preferred the origin story of Cobra Commander being a car salesman who fought back and founded Cobra after the US government had wronged him and seized his business.
So much more relatable than an underground species of snake people who want to take over the world.
Serpentor and Cobra-La would have fit in much better with the Snake Men from Masters if the Universe.
Larry Hama himself never made it a secret that he hated the concept of Cobra-La.
It is way over the top for a franchise such as G.I. Joe.

Samuel Fawley i don't know now golobulus was more diabolical to me he wanted to transform all humans into primitive form haha.but other than that serpentor was my favorite he went all out cobra commander he was really a scientists not a true warrior leader him.however now that I know about gi joe and transformers after the movie's came out i know what these stories r talking about n they r not the only one's too.even the old sit com's and the comic books characters n the movie's i know they been studying reading of extraterrestrial delima n the ancient tablets about the great war.hahaha they slick and made a lot of money too.the game is sold not told.

Didn't the idea of Serpentor come from Cobra-La influencing Dr. Mindbender in the UK comics? (Seems the UK stuff was left out of this one- no biggie- great video.) Also, there was a funny story called "My Dinner with Serpentor" where he talks about creating pizza. Larry Hama has said this was one of his least favorite characters (even to draw).

They ruined GI Joe with that Cobra La story line. Should had left it as American military vs terrorist group. I never cared or collected Serpentor and the Cobra La toyline. It got too weird and don’t fit the military cartoon shows. We have Thundercats and He-Man shows for that fantasy. At least the ninjas and BATS works.

Serpentor was an impressive genetic abomination. His death in the DIC series was humiliating. After Cobra Commander was restored to humanoid form (he was turned in a snake in GI Joe the movie by mutagenic spores), Serpentor got turned into a lizard.

I feel like it would be interesting if we had a dynamic of Serpentor and Cobra Commander in the same way we have The Emperor and Darth Vader. Like one is the one pulling the strings behind the whole operation, while the other is carrying out his orders and fulfilling his master’s agenda, while at the same time having his own agenda and engaging in combat more, and thus becoming the more recognizable main antagonist.

    • @joeesperanto678
      @joeesperanto678 5 лет назад

The Reptilians came from another planet, their goal was to hide while they slowly replaced humankind as their conquering technique. The main reason is because they cannot reproduce as we can and must use DNA science and cloning techniques to reproduce on this planet. Also, their original planet is far far away which makes a total invasion on their behalf a very complicated event, despite their superior tech and strategic abilities. Humans are still greater in numbers and have the upper hand.
