The Northwestern Oklahoma Railroad (reporting mark NOKL) is a shortline railroad operating in Woodward, Oklahoma that operates approximately 5 miles (8.0 km) of track
NOKL leases out their reporting marks to investment companies such as GE Capital, who buys & leases the cars, but is not a common carrier with their own reporting marks.....
A funny thing. A lot people get caught up in their own "self-importance." They forget that certain governments and the US have more of their personal information than any of us could get from simple holding a camera outside of a house. It's definitely a level of paranoia that I have gotten very uncomfortable with. Good on you for not giving anyone the satisfaction. I guess he probably felt pretty stupid when the cop told him you (who he probably knows through your activities) had a right to film trains from a public roadway. lol Hang on in there brotha!
Adding the name of the Railroad and what State this is in at the beginning of the video would be more helpful than having to wait 25-mins into it in order to learn it. @13:00 Cool looking wooden Station, although a modest standard construction design, they are becoming rarer every tear. @32:50 The old Semaphore outside of the brick station is just pure gold.

Jason, You were wondering what was going on with those boxcars. Considering they are all from the same owner, they were probably all in storage, and the fact that it’s the time of the year; it seems evident that these cars were moved at the request of the owner. "Why" could be a variety of different things. Maybe a better contract with another railroad, maybe wants to trade them out with others in service, maybe wants to make sure everything still works after an extensive downtime, etc. You also asked the other day what your viewers would like to see. I, for one, would like to see more switching action. Drone footage would be even better when multiple sidings are involved. I’ve often wondered how conductors keep things straight, grabbing the correct cars and shoving them wherever.
Jason, the ELS has to earn it´s money !!! the exchange of ties by contractors costs a lot of money !! watch out for railgangs the next weeks, when track contruction work starts.. I think, they got information about a train of CN or on other company, which receives the box cars.. Greetings from Germany !
In 32:38, the driver was not driving down a one-way Street. You're wrong. The trade is actually running with the right of way along the grass between the grass and the sidewalk, so that driver was perfectly legal to do what he did
As a railfan I also film trains and the engineer normally gives me a friendly wave when the lead locomotive goes by. You did nothing wrong by filming the train on public property.

It's been that color at least 30 years or more. Saw some old ELS railfan videos from the early 90's and it was the same. They had several SD-9's that color.
Paint doesn't fix track. The cost to paint a single loco is ~$60-100k. That would be better used in track maintenance. Even the big 5 don't have all locos in same scheme.
@TylerDonitzen-k7n it's original paint from 1955. The nose was repainted in the past few years. FWIW, "dash 9" is for GE locos. These are EMD SD9 & SD40 upgraded to SD40-2 specs by BNSF.

No expectation of privacy out in public. You weren't trespassing on his property to make that video. I never heard you say anything accusatory. People like to hear what they want to hear. It's a shame they don't have the money to paint 1221. Blue & White or the BNSF scheme would look neat.

Judging from the light package on the SD 9 it may be a former Denver & Rio Grande. A total guess on my part.

Probably water from the steam (heat) pipes. These are separated from the load and drainage is normal.
Was wondering if the crossing lights by the fire station got fixed
Where are the Mega-log-haulers?
Why do some roads have flashing lights at rail crossings and some do not?
Depends on car volume through the crossing.

That 1221 Is That A SD 9 Or Is It A SD 24? Thats A Rare Old Locomotive.
According to the roster it's an SD9, built in the '50s and secondhand like most of the ELS's motive power.
Is ELS so broke that they cannot afford to paint all engines in a uniform manner?
Maybe this summer? Give the old girl a new uniform.🛤
That dash 9 isn't rusted that actually is the color on that locomotive it's a burnt orange paint scheme
