    Here at calamba laguna egg pie is one of the best delicacies in laguna and los banos... yumminessssssssss 😀😋

      Easy! I think it is because I used vegetable shortening. I once used butter when I made the crust Buko Pie and they do crumble. This one is more stable and easy to handle. If you click the recipe link attached, I explained more about the crust there.

    Hi! i have a question. It seems that you used a non stick metal pan for your pie right? If so, will the temperature and baking time have any difference if i make it in a glass pie plate? I am asking this cause from all the videos i watched. You were the only one who baked at 180c for 20min and lowered it to 160C for only 35 min. Wouldn't that leave the custard raw still? Others 2nd baking is at 160C for either 45min or even 60min longer. If i do make this in a glass pie plate, how long do you think i should bake it on the 2nd lowering temp phase?
    Kindly enlighten me cause i really wanna try this recipe. It looks promising!

      Some uses other pie plates like stoneware and not just glass. I used these kind of pan so that my followers from the Philippines can use the pan they have as not many of them have pie pans. It didn't leave the custard raw as you can see on the video. Also, please know that glass pans absorbs too much heat compared to regular pans and for this recipe, I have the metal pan perfect for it. I haven't tried using the glass pan for the recipe so I can't really advise you on the timing and temp.

      @@PinoyCookingRecipesbyJanette Hi! thanks for replying! Well then i just need to try it. Wish me luck! I have tried making egg pie a very long time ago but i was discouraged because it failed. When i cut the pie its like the Magic cake where you can see 2 layers of the custard, one ok and the other layer is like translucent which i didnt like. The second time was that i ended up with very raw crust at the bottom of the pan.
      thanks again. Will try this soon! By the way, how come some recipes dont use cornstarch but you do, what does it do?

    Loved this! May question lang po. What is the cornstarch for is it for thickening? And can I add lemon zest and omit the 2 teaspoons vanilla? Will make pinoy egg pie this weekend.

      Cornstarch for thickening, yes. Kasi pag wala it will be too soft. So we need that para mas stable ang filling. Yes you can add lemon zest instead of vanilla. Mas masarap lang talaga ang vanilla. Keep me posted :)

      ano po kaya reason bakit bumubukol ung crust ko? ang result po, nawawala ung filling sa part ng bumukol na crust.

      @@JM-ko9js Hi Gas range kasi ang gamit ko and I am not familiar sa oven mo. Pero may nabasa ako both heat should be on pero dahil mataas ang temp ng oven so madali magdark dahil malapit sa heating element. I suggest to check before the set time or lower ng 25 degrees

    Hi, question for this recipe po, sa sugar? Is that 1 3/4 cups? Or onlny 3/4 cups? And for baking, I'm not using digital oven, pano po un to bring down from 350'F to 325'F using regular oven lng? Hope you can reply again. Thank You 😊

      ang ingredients nasa description. adjust mo ang temp from 350F to 325F. digital? Analog? You have to bring down the temp. It doesn't matter ano gamit mo oven.

      yes pero mas crumbly sya pag butter alam mo ung naghihiwalay sya paghiwa mo but yes pwede.       I think so. Texture won't affect but taste might kasi lard is pure fat wherein shortening is vegetable oil.

      Pwede naman ang butter kaya lang maraming extra step that you need to do. 1. Make sure cold ang butter. Ilabas mo lang pag ihahalo mo na. 2. Use ICE COLD water not just cold water. 3. Refrigerate the pie crust bago mo ilagay ang filling. 4. Ang pie pagka-bake, may chance na mag-break or mag-crumble pag hiniwa. Just follow all the steps and you're good to make this PIE. I hope this helps.

    Good afternoon po tanung ko lng kung kya nyo po gumawa ng lemon square katulad po sa purple oven n bakeshoop n try ko po yun kya lng medyo mhal yung po kc ang gustong ipabake sakin ng anak ko sana sa sunop po na episode nyo ko ay maibake nyo po yung recipe ng lemon square thank you po
