I’m definitely going to try it. I love puff pastry. It does take time to make but at least we know what’s in it. Puff pastry is so versatile and can be made ahead, stored in freezer and used as needed. I’m excited to try it. Thank you

@ljana Too close to Norway. However, if I had a choice, I would revisit St. Petersburg, then go to Moscow. I still plan to take the Trans Siberian Railway at least to Lake Baikal, possibly beyond.

I guess I am going to have to get me a cold marble countertop.... Or at least a big block of it to put on my countertop. See I also dabble in making my own ice cream in a set it and forget it way that I learned from eagle brand sweetened condensed milk. Furthermore I learned a few tricks from Cold Stone Creamery about adding ingredients to ice ream. Cold slabs of Marble are very helpful... But I can't afford the refrigeration unit that would have to go under it for very extensive ice cream mixing like Cold Stone.

Some people don't want ultra processed food, and want to make it themselves. That's like asking someone why don't they just eat mcdonalds, instead of making a burger at home. Weird queston.
The repeated folding, rolling, and chilling are what create the flaky, crispy layers in puff pastry! Each fold adds more layers of butter and dough, which expand in the oven to give that light, airy texture. Chilling in between prevents the butter from melting and keeps the layers distinct. It takes time, but the result is totally worth it! 😊✨
