    I'm going to respectfully disagree with you, sir. It's not because of us that this happened, it's because of you. You didn't have to invest the proceeds of these videos back into the house, you didn't have to go there and help in the first place. This is because of you. I'm just happy to play a small part in it.

      I have very textured ceilings. Some are that popcorn, and I don’t know what the other raised texture is called. It’s even worse than the popcorn ceiling for holding dust and tiny cobwebs. Does anyone have any suggestions for cleaning those before painting? I was even thinking about using a shop vac on a ladder with the brush attachment. I hate to think of the little white bits of popcorn all over everything in the room.

      I think I'd like to see a bit more storytelling around the couple, so we can learn a bit more about them and why this transformation is helping them overcome their difficulties, which could help others going through similar problems. But only if they want. That would include reaction shots, but it would be tasteful because it would be part of the story and not done as exploitative viewer bait.

    I don't know how else to word this, but I'm glad of all the home renovators I've seen, that you are one that's autistic. The lack of loud music and lack of excessive noise, the understanding that the homeowner should pick their own colors, and the calm (and sometimes funny) narration makes for a perfect video for me to watch (as I am also autistic). Too many organization/crafty channels focus so much on "asmr" stuff that it's physically painful for me to watch. I cannot stand most creative content these days due to the asmr takeover.

    My wife worked for 40 yrs in beige offices. When we bought this house she asked if I would please get rid of all the beige in the house (and it was all beige!) and paint it in bright happy colors. YES! No two rooms have the same color scheme. Most people told me no one will want to buy your house with all those colors! Well fine! Until THEY are paying the mortgage the colors stay. When its theirs, they can come in and spray the whole thing beige or I guess gray since it is the new beige. So, well well done brother by honoring these folks with what THEY want!! I hope you get a million views on this video, too.

The dollar store or those stores that sell overstock or returned items usually has them for cheap. But the year before last I got a great tree (for me) during boxing week sales. You are the best example that kindness and compassion still exists in our world. So many say how bad things are these days. I think of people as either fountains or drains. Drains constantly complain and suck people down with negativity. Fountains find solutions, lift people up and create rainbows. You, our friend are the best example of a fountain❤. Your hard work, empathy for others and generosity of your time is so appreciated. So glad that Emily is doing better. Sending much love and wishes for a very Merry Christmas from our home in upstate New York to yours and this family🌲🌲

    I love the orange! I'm sure there are people watching that were not alive in the 70s. People had orange shag rugs. We had an orange sofa. My high school cafeteria had orange walls. Everyone enjoyed bright colors. My bedroom was pink and it had one wall that was bright fuchsia! This gives me the warm fuzzies.

      Orange, avocado, or eggplant was popular in the 70's. Mom did eggplant for the bedroom and bathroom. Dad didn't like Iike it, but "happy wife..."

    My dad is a hoarder. He hoards mostly tools and building materials but also clothes and any interesting knick knacks or furniture he finds. He even has huge amounts of old womens clothing and kids stuff even though he's lived alone for more than 2 decades. I will probably have about a years worth of work getting rid of stuff and renovating when he's passed or gone to a nursing home. Its going to be hard but I don't see him being able to empty his house enough to fix stuff and paint before that happens even though he is making an effort. Watching you gives me hope for the future because it makes the prospect less daunting when you see it being done. Thank you so much for all you do and for your compassion ❤️

I went on you tube and did all of the trouble shooting suggestions and found out that the pump was broken. Went on a video on how to replace it and found a appliance replacement parts store and fixed the dishwasher myself. The ladies at the parts store asked me how I figured how to do that. I love love love that you let the homeowner pick the colors they liked. I hate my generation's (millennial) obsession with making everything beige and gray. It's ok if you paint your walls orange, guys. You can always paint it again. I grew up with a terracotta red living room, and I loved it. Can't wait to get a house of my own so I can get away from all this cheap white ceiling paint on every surface of my apartment.

    • @MrGrumpyGills
      @MrGrumpyGills 9 месяцев назад

      I don't know where you're living but there are many many people who don't use beige and gray in their homes and yes, that includes Millennials. Aside from that, bright colors might look good/different at first but they can get old quite quickly and it's hard to find furniture and decor that doesn't clash with them.
      Beige and gray only look boring if you don't know how to combine them properly with other colors (which pop much more because of a neutral background). I have a comfy scandi/seaside theme going and my mom, who is in her mid 70s, an artsy boho/industrial one - I used a lot of light natural colors combined with a charcoal floor and my mom has dark grey walls with dark toned furniture and some vintage boho pieces. Her artwork really stands out now that the walls aren't competing with it anymore. She moved on from orange, light green, bright yellow etc. and hasn't looked back once.

I like the antique vibe and those are the colors I choose. I can state from experience having colors you like means you are happier each time you go in the room. That is a present that that affects you daily. May those colors make them happy and help daily with changing moods for the better.
