yep you really out did yourself painting that engine a straight 292 that looks like a work of art but thats gonna have some get up and go. Thanks for sharing
i dont mean to be offtopic but does any of you know of a way to log back into an Instagram account..? I was dumb forgot the account password. I would appreciate any tips you can offer me.
I wonder what year exactly they swapped has to be after 81 for sure as that's the engine that in my truck is the 292 straight 6 although it sadly doesn't run and hasn't ran for 20 years
I'm doing a 75 nova with the 4.1 I've been using heat for the rods and the cam gear. I have a question I'm hoping someone can answer. Do I heat press the crankshaft timing gear as well or do I use a press? Thank you in advance.
MAN, good work, I rebuilt a 292 bored 30. with lump ports, bigger valves 2.02, 1.84 also!, milled cyl head, and left .010 decked block. what intake you planning on running. I planning on running triple side draught with EFI. 3x 50mm dual throttle body's or 48's knot sure. some say increase bore. some say smaller is better throttle response... I in new England. gtg
Lookin good! I'm putting the lumps in my 250 head. Can't wait to get it running.
Your 292 Looks awesome!! Man that thing is going to be a runner for sure!! Nice work!
Mike K Thanks Mike! Good to see another guy from the forum! Thanks!
Looks good best exost note I ever heard was I6 header and 12" bluestreaks.make shure to run cam additives.
Thanks! Yeah, I'm gonna run Joe Gibbs oil during and after break in.
Putting the lump port kit in my heads now. I kinda doubt the 20% flow increase hype, tho. It's just not there. Damn nice looking motor.
I'm building a stock 292 .040 over. Hope it runs and looks as nice as yours
😃😃😃
love that paint job and those side covers.
Thanks man!
Leave the paint off it holds heat
Perfect thanks

Thanks man! Yeah same here! Can't wait to here it run!
The 292 CI inline six cylinder is the last of the Blue Flame Six cylinder engine of all time before Chevy switched to V6 engines in the 80s
I wonder what year exactly they swapped has to be after 81 for sure as that's the engine that in my truck is the 292 straight 6 although it sadly doesn't run and hasn't ran for 20 years
Nice !!! Very nice :) Can't wait to hear that engine roar..........

Cool! Yeah yer 292 is gonna have some beef to it. I'm going to run the clifford ram horn intake. Works well...easy install. Thanks for checkin in.
Military Chevy I need to load a video starting and breaking in my engine. How long until you do a big update again!!!!!!!!
D Johnson If things go right sometime this summer. lol I'm stocking up on parts and money right now. lol

Hi, nice proyect !!! those rockers wont feet stock valve cover ???
Nope, to wide and to tall. Thanks!
that is perrrty ..... and look Ford Blue... lol .That is sweet Build On
LOL! No its NOT ford blue...I'd be dead if it was. ;) Its actually Royal blue from dupli color. :) Thanks!
Really .. I don't know , Oh you said Royal Blue then it is Ford blue....lol
TheFrameoff lol Ya, It does almost look like ford blue...but out of a bright light and it looks like midnight blue. Its funny.
It's going to have some snap having been bored .040
TheFrameoff Yeah...as of now its built to twice as much power as stock.
Mind if I borrow that 292 for the ole blue '62? I'm anxious to see how it turns out, I've never built an inline for performance, good luck!
+Hillbilly Treasures Too late now! lol Engine is on the frame!
did you make the side covers? I'm taking machining classes and I'd like to make side covers for my 292 when I get competent with the mill.
+jench78 No I didn't. I got them from MrHotRod6. :) Thanks! And enjoy milling.
hello, could you give me the sites in intener where you buy spare parts for this engine
Had one in the Bilge 200 h.p. stock .How much can you get out of one?
Most powerful 292 out there currently is pumping out 1100 hp. Lol
What shall I expect to spend money wise and a job like that?
I'd say around $4k
Nice block ,what car are you put in
It's in a 66 chevy truck
the worst part about the chevy 6 is how much better the tappet covers look than the ford 300 :(
+Mike Vukich Offy makes a Sweet finned aluminum valve cover for the 300 though.
This roller rockers are the same use on chevy 350? This a jeep Tj fit?
These roller are actually big block chevy rollers. This engine is for a 66 c10. :)
Ford blue? Should be a runner.
Nope..NOT ford blue...I wouldn't dare. Its royal blue from dupli color.
Military Chevy looks really close to ford blue :)
***** Nope. lol I'm not crazy....yet....;) lol
That's Ford blue.....yep
yuppers , thinking the same thing over here too ....
Very nice see ya :)
Thanks! Merry Christmas!
how big of a cam did you go on this? Cam specs, please?
268H duration and 219 @ .050 .500 lift on a 110 lobe center.
What do you mean by zero decked?
To be honest I'm not even positive on 0 decking...all I know is it helps me more power and helps with combustion so I did it. lol
This would have been easier if you had dropped in the 292 crank into a Pontiac 4bbl Sprint OHC6. Would have run even better.
The pontiac engine is a low deck block. Not very easy to make a long stroke 292 crank work in it.
