  • Example of how to run network cabling in an uniformed method. More online here - www.bridgecabl...
Our teams tend to move from job sites or projects like any other company. Over the years our lead techs will have to figure out what the last team did if they haven't been onsite for awhile. This is an easy way to grab the prints and see what is left to do. Various methods or spreadsheets can be made but for BridgeCable this is a simple process to follow.
Remember, some direction is better than NO direction. Whatever process your company uses make sure it is documented and easy to understand for your teams. A standard for all your teams must be in place and followed. If not......think of the waste of manpower while everyone is re-doing or talking what has already been done.
For reference: We highlight the drops/zones that we have pulled. It could be coiled up at location but a single tech can later work on dropping the cables when the larger team is not present or working on another task.
We circle the location when it is typically "dropped" to location, which could be in the wall or mounted to whatever. As well in this stage we jack and label. Basically it is ready to be tested when the patch panel at the main location is ready. Lastly the checkmark is for 100% done, our standard is a picture to upload to our client server and we tested with cert tester. We also upload the test and the pictures. This ensures the client has all the information and proof of a working network port.

What software do you use to mark up your maps? Is it a PDF editor or some other tool?
