Introverts are insanely creative. My introverted friend used to change her background into an incoming call and set a 6-minute alarm everytime she was about to go into a social situation. Since the alarm was the same as her ringtone, she got away easily. Its genius.

I'm introverted but I also have an introverted classmate who's a genius at most of the things in the classroom, especially in Math. Even though she just sleeps in the room most of the time, her abilities amazes me. She has friends(unlike me lol), but I admire her independence most of the time.
But I tend to look down on myself often because how I don't know to work things out and fear also stops me. That's why discovering myself is so hard, even just saying it out.

I really relate to this a lot. I used to sleep in class and one of my favorite subject is math. I only have to see it once or twice and understand it. Never really thought about it over much because I thought it was the normal in my world.
Growing up, it's always been frustrating for my parents because I was always bored in school and not like all of the other kids. I finished a year's worth of math in a month and the subject of govn and econ within 2 weeks, so I wondered why school teaches so slow.
I'm now writing a novel series to adapt to film. I hope to pave the way and limitless imaginations for future generations. I've learned to take time for myself, self-care days. I listen to inspiring music / sad music to recharge because I need to feel things intensely. -INFP Excited for the next 10 years!

I don't know if I'd be bold enough to label myself a genius, but pretty much all of those apply to me. I started school a year early, and then was bumped up another full grade on top of that. I was a latchkey kid; my parents weren't around that much (for reasons that I'll only get into on a second post, because of the subject matter), so I was taught how to take care of myself. I've been cooking for myself since I was 4. Other kids didn't interest me. I spent all my time alone, either playing video games or reading. I started reading Stephen King when I was 6, and had already completed my high school's English reading curriculum before I'd even started high school. Despite my academic performance, I was regarded as a pariah. Back then in the 80s and 90s, I knew I was "different", but the term used by modern mainstream discourse is non-binary. Everyone else seemed to know as well, despite my best efforts. Gender roles made no sense to me; they were just arbitrary rules that everyone followed for no reason. I was also raised in a religious cult, and was the only one who seemed aware of it and asked questions. Yeah, just imagine being a child and realizing that _everyone around you is crazy._ I won't go into it unless someone asks, but my childhood was basically a perpetual nightmare. And no one ever came to save me.
Thanks to my grades, I was able to get a paid internship with a major bank when I was only 15. This introduced me to the corporate world much sooner than my peers. But more importantly, it taught me how predatory student loans are. Back then, the "conventional wisdom" was to just get a loan, go to college, get a degree in whatever, and there would be a job waiting for you. But I knew that was insanity; all you had to do was take a step back and actually _look_ how things worked. I'd gotten into Berkeley at 16, but couldn't afford it. My mom had also lost my college fund on a bad investment, and she reacted very badly to my coming out. So, I had to put myself through college without student loans or help from my folks. I gave up on Berkeley and went to a local college, and then transferred later. I worked 3 jobs to make it happen, and sacrificed my physical and mental health and all common luxuries in order to complete my goal. Imagine eating nothing but canned food and sleeping on subways for a few years. Everyone thought I was crazy, but I knew better. By the time I got my first degree, I was exhausted in every way a person can be. _But I didn't know anyone a cent._ Skip forward to the present day, and I'm the only person I know who isn't saddled with crippling debt.
I spent the rest of my 20s rebuilding my finances by staying in the corporate world. I excelled at logistics and audits, and was popular with clients and respected by the staff. However, that respect was conditional; if I ever questioned some nonsensical customer service policy (and there were _plenty_ of them), I was told to just shut up and go along with it. I've always had a hard time connecting with other people, and the staff was no different. There were lots of issues, but it came to a head in 2011 during the Occupy Wall Street movement. The branch I was stationed in was actually on the front lines for some of the most violent protests. We had busted ATMs, broken windows, threats against staff, you name it. It culminated with a few thousand people marching through the streets and surrounding out building. Despite this, we were forced to go to work; the company wanted to put on a brave face for the PR, and would fire us on the spot if we refused to cooperate. We were trapped in that building for about 5 hours. We were told the cops were going to escort us out, but it never happened. And once it was all over, we were expected to go to work as if the company hadn't risked our lives for the sake of optics.
I ended up having a very public mental breakdown, and was forced into therapy. It saved my life, but it came at the cost of my career. Those months in therapy were rough, but it forced me to look at myself and reassess my priorities. I couldn't go back to the corporate world. I also had a second career as a video game reviewer. I've been playing games for 40 years, and had started writing about them in college as a way to keep my writing sharp after I'd finished my English prerequisites. I wrote over 700 reviews in analytical/persuasive essay format, none of that shallow, generic stuff you see today. I had a massive readership with over 2 million views, all gained via word of mouth. I also won over 30 writing contests. But I'd grown disillusioned with the gaming industry and gaming as a whole; that's a whole separate post in itself. I didn't want to spend another decade of my life sitting in front of a screen, pushing buttons, and playing iterations of the same old games with newer graphics. I didn't want to live vicariously through fiction. I needed something more... _real._
So, I walked away. Both figuratively and literally; I started wandering the streets of San Francisco after my therapy sessions were done. First it was to the touristy spots, then neighborhoods and trails. As of now, I've covered about 3/4 of the city on foot. I didn't stop there, either. Turns out, my curiosity and adventurous streaks run deep. I started going to other places in California, then other states, and then other countries. As of now, I've been to 30 countries spanning 6 continents, and have been systematically checking off entries on my bucket list. I love hiking; being surrounded by nature - and away from people - is wonderful. Beaches, mountains, rainforests, deserts, glaciers, volcanoes, wildlife, ancient ruins, UNESCO sites... I'm up for anything. I picked up photography as a secondary hobby as a way to record my interests. I didn't realize this at the time, but it helped me hone my natural spatial awareness skills; I seek out details, shapes, colors, lighting, etc. that others would overlook. It's resulted in some spectacular photos, but I can't link them here due to how comments work. Regardless, taking the chance to travel and photograph everything was one of the best choices I've made. I don't like people, but the world itself is fascinating in terms of how systems interact and create different things. It led me to go back to college remotely during the pandemic and earn my second and third degrees, this time in Environmental Science and Geography. Now my focus is on Remote Sensing and GIS.
It's not all sunshine and rainbows, though. Due to my experiences, I've always been very isolated. The effects they had on my mind were dire; officially, I'm diagnosed with Personality Disorder Unspecified, Depression, and PTSD. I despise being around other people in a way that goes far beyond introversion. People make even less sense to me than they did before; what little faith and trust I've had in others have been destroyed in the last few years. I have no one in my life; I recently went a whole month without talking to another human being in person. I haven't had any kind of relationship since college. Romance and having kids don't appeal to me at all, which makes me the black sheep of my family. That whole "genius loner" cliche is _very_ overrated. If I was really a genius, I'd have found a way to live with everything that's happened to me, and have a future to live for.
TLDR: I relate with everything mentioned in this video, but I don't think I'm bold enough to label myself a genius. I've been taking care of myself since I was a child, started reading adult books at 6, started a successful career at 15, got into college at 16, had to put myself through said college without student loans and by working 3 jobs instead, had a successful career in the game industry, live without debt, traveled all over the world, found my love for hiking and photography, and went back to college remotely to pursue Environmental Science and Geography. I thrive on observation, logistics, analysis, and spatial awareness. However, I grew up in mostly social isolation; parents were neglectful at best, I was born and raised in a cult, and I was a social outcast due to be non-binary. My childhood was a nightmare. I sacrificed everything to reach my academic goals, missed out on my 20s, and was ultimately used and discarded by the company that I'd worked so long for. My mental health leaves much to be desired, and I have no one in my life. The whole "genius loner" cliche is very overrated. If I was a genius, I'd have found a way to live with everything that's happened to me, and have a future to live for.

And here is some life advice. Every future boss you have is going to utterly hate you for being a individualist and forward thinker. If its not their way its the you're fired way. Despite any significant advancement you find by thinking "outside their box". You are best suited to creating your own work. By Being an entrepreneur. Find a market and build a business in work you enjoy doing. Or for an introverted genius, you are only a burden in the machine trying to be a working cog like the rest. For which you never will be.
    That is what I learned.

I doubt if I'm an introvert genius. But some of these do describe me a bit. I like people but I do prefer to be alone, as a kid I never followed any latest craze or fad that was popular at the time. However one sign fits me the most and it what gets me upset all the time is that I feel clueless a few things; why this sign upsets me the most is because of the relationship with my late father. No matter what I do even in my adulthood is that he always say "Quit acting stupid!" To me. If I make one simple mistake or if I forget something or if I have trouble remembering people's names to go with their faces he belittles me and puts me down, treating me liked I'm meantaly unable to take care of myself. Also he thinks of me this way because I'm mildly autistic and because I still love to watch cartoons I mean come on lots of adults still watches cartoons otherwise we wouldn't have shows liked the Simpsons or Family Guy; but with him it's "Your head is always on those stupid cartoons. No wonder you act stupid all the time." What hurts me meantaly to this day is that he died not realizing that he is wrong about me and never once told he was sorry for how he treated me to the end.
I'm sorry if this bumming you kind folks out but I had to get it off my chest I guess when I watched videos like this

i literally didn't know about weird stuff until this year as a 14 year old and one of my female friends had to teach me what periods were. despite that, i was called for living under a huge rock since i didn't even know normal tiktok songs which were trending or something. however, i would always rather engage into history, maths, geography and stuff because i found them so interesting to do. i wasn't allowed to use social media until last year and i'd see everyone with phones watching yt shorts or more tiktok. i was jealous until i realised this wasn't actually a bad thing. i kind of started appreciating myself for living under a rock at an early age since it has so much benefits to you yourself.

once a new math teacher joined in our school when I was in 8th grade & he used to take our class, but he always told me I'm not focussing in class, belived & told others that I'm gonna fail and many more but i didn't know any of these untill he told me these😂
so what happened was after result he got me stand up in the class and asked me only one thing, how did you take the exam? (I was like what? did he gone mad or something? what kind of qn is it? no one asked me this before) you don't focuss in my class, even though I'm teaching everything in such a way that elementary student will understand & when I ask you the Simplist common sense, you can't answer it? How did you do this good on exam then gave my result, & told me how he used to think about me 💀 but he got to know me well after long time, then after the final result, when we got into the new class & got new teacher,he was so understanding,he observed all of us & tried to figure out how everyone in our class was he told me about how type of student I actually was, he was the one who told me that I can solve critical questions that others can't but I can't solve the simplest one cause I think in a difficult way😊
I never got to be the 1st one during school cause even after getting amazing grade in difficult subjects, l used to have less grade in subjects that had no difficult thinking like language, religious, socials ,, & that affected my results a little too 🙂

We, introvert geniuses have always been facing a dilemma. What is the definitive result of 2 + 2? For every multiverse, galaxy, planetary system 2 might not exist in the first place.. There might be more number symbols after 9 in these galaxies! There might be different answers in different universes. You can never know everything, like a quantum "thing that I forgot what it's called"'s state is never known till observed. But how do we know that it's in a superposition (infinite states at the same time)? Quantum computers. They are truly amazing, being able to crack any password, by entering every password possible at once. They exist right now, as bulky as the world's earliest computers. This means somebody could hack into your bank account with enough effort. With out it too. And how do you know someone wouldn't do it from a different multiverse.. they wouldn't know, what 2 + 2 is.

I'm not sure if I'd label myself as a "genius", but as a child I was always trying to fit in with people because I was afriad of being left out and being seen as the "freak" of the school, because of that I was in the wrong friend groups and trying to fit in with the wrong people. I kept asking my "friends" if they were friends or if they were just my way of getter through life, they said the latter, I always asked myslef why I hung out with these people but never took it to heart. I was bullied a lot in elementary school and by my own biological father (long story) so I withdrew into my phone and watching TV and/or playing video games. Now as a 22 year old adult I am very afraid that I've missed my chance at living a life and I'll never live up to my potential as a "genius". I've begun to stop watching so much TV and to actually take it upon myself to read more and study more and be the person I want to be. I've always had a passion for science and engineering and biology but I've never studied it. Because of my aspergers I was always in a sense of depression and I worried I would always be in that depression so I never had the true confidence to move out of my fog. I just hope that I'm not to late.

One Young Lady in particular has fascinated me time and again. Whether She's aware of it or not, that's a huge turn-on for this Boy. And ... sharp eye for obscure detail, long-term memory, super-complex planning & execution (typically scheming to get one over on me) ... oh, heck yea. I'd probably wring Her neck when She pulls Her stunts on me, but I'm usually too busy being amused and downright impressed by it. She has crossed the line a few times, and I let Her know. I have had to fire the proverbial Shot Across the Bow a few times. But ... gotta admit ... this Young Lady was born to impress. And yes ... ALL boxes checked in bold here.

For me actual intelligence is knowing what you have and leveraging it....if you're struggling in life perhaps you dont know yourself as much as you need to.
and what even is "the best use"...I can take a guess for myself, but given all the different variables and variety of choices throughout ones day there isn't really any type of confirmation that what you did/are doing is the best choice.
