If it's a life support device, I'd recommend you replace a new wire.
I am not hating put the knife u have u can do it with my teeth and if u say wrong I have electricy lessons
🙏🏼 just bought this vacuum two months. My dogs toy was on top of wire so he chewed the cord by accident while trying to chew his toy. Defiantly doing this but probably more tape because I’m paranoid 🤣

Additional advises:
- Tape should be pulled while wrapping it around cable or wire, to make tighter and stronger insulation.. it also looks better.
- wrap additional layers of tape, for safety.
- it will be better if you use heat shrink on exposed copper and wires, then use tape.

My Ethernet cable twisted too much and got damaged :(
The best way is to replace If it’s just a short patch cable. If you can't replace the cable you can put an RJ-45 end yourself on each end and use a RJ-45 coupler to attach the two ends together. You do incur some degradation due to the added connections, but that would be far less than you get if you try and “splice” the two ends. Doing that, you will loose valuable shielding.

What kind of Scotch tape are you using?
Use a high quality tape such as 3M Super 33+ which is made for electrical work.

I really don't like he wire splice, the wire should be horizontal but that's his style way and also there is also another alternative to patch the wire instead of using electrical tape it's called heat shrink tubing.
I have mentioned that this is a Quick fix solution those who has very primary skills and minimum tools. This is not a professional way to repair wire Which is a temporary. But it works very well. Also i have an another video which i show fix a cord with heat shrink tubing. it would be much better solution and much more durable as well.

Electrical Tape is a better choice for quick repair.

if it's just a small splinter then there is likely not much risk. However, if the wire had a deeper cuts you should cut off the damage part and re-strip the wire. If you have any doubts, cut off the damaged part and strip it again. If you require any further information, feel free to contact us.

Why did you separate the wires right before taping them ?
