Randy is on an Ardbeg streak! Drum felt like a whisky that didnt quite line up with the classic ardbeg distillate. I enjoyed the drams I've had but I do not feel molasses and Peat play well together. Drum is Fun, but not collectible or special. I LOVE that Malcolm is slowly coming around to the dark side. PEAT FOREVER.
I was just looking at this season's picks by Randy, and he really is delivering some bangers...I am curious to see how the Committee Release of the Drum matches up against the 46% (eyes open for an opportunity to grab one). And, yep, Mal is part peatman now. Cheers!
Outstanding as always gentlemen. Ardbeg had always been #4 or #5 on my Islay list but after the past few episodes featuring Ardbeg (Thanks Randy), I've bought a fresh bottle and I'm back on the Ardbeg train. I love it when you both really like a bottle and can talk at length about the whiskey inside it. When Malcolm mentioned how Ardbeg can make their whiskeys taste so deep on top of the peat/smoke really hit a note with me. It made me appreciate the hard work that goes in to making Scotch. I had a dram of their Anamorphic while watching this to make it special. Thank you, keep up the great work & happy Mothers Day.
and Thank you sir, for your continued in-depth and thoughtful comments. This journey is opening our eyes along the way as well, and the experience is becoming 'spectacular' (see what I did there?). 20 year old Colin would never have guessed what whisky really could be and is....he would have just drank it for effect; now I drink it for experience. Cheers!
I just finished a committee bottling this . Lovely whisky. The essence of Islay….. and middle planet This is your Brest review yet. Much love for the Beg. 💯😎
Good episode guys. I'm drinking an unaged Haitian rum this week. Very yeasty, very different. Good to see rum casks used in whiskey. Experiments must be had unless we all what to start drinking sherry again.
Thanks! and right, who drinks all the sherry? that's a big part of why sherry 'seasoned' casks has become a thing. The rum influence in this release was unlike any other rum finished whisky I've experienced. Cheers!
Cheers Lads, lovely evenings & a good dram, I'll be joining in with the BizareBQ, It might not be too late too find it, best off last years offerings.🥃😉 Cheers
@@TBWD Well done Colin, your fingers on the pulse, I just wish Randy had the heart to drop it soon. World Whisky day so Cheers😋18th May (you get lucky)
@@thedraminator6103 some Bushmills (21yo, 1608anniversary, a few more) Knappogue Castle (a few), Jameson (Black Barrel, and a few others)...maybe a Writers Tears, Redbreast, Green/Gold spot...not a large selection, but some. Cheers!
"Holy crap, that's good!" Quote of the year from Mal.😂
Nothing quite like a genuine outburst to know how someone really feels. Cheers!

First time watcher, subscribed! I work in the bourbon industry, but I love scotch just as much. The water of life. Cheers, my friends.

HA! it was a fun episode, that's for sure. Cheers!
Having the Ardbeg Smoketrails right now to stay on brand with ya'll.
Great, no Smoketrails here, yet...all these comments keep making the list of Whisky's to get longer...MALCOLM, IMA NEED YOUR WALLET AGAIN. Cheers!
Colin, got to love the glug, glug, glug from the bottle only to be out done by the taste of course 👌
I do love the gurgle glug, but the taste of this was spectacular (see what I did there?). Cheers!
