I'll pin this here in case there are any important changes but thanks for watching! I didn't mention the Ara-Kara sacbrood in this video but that is a decent trinket as well. Between sacbrood, crystal, changeling, and gale of shadows they are all incredibly similar and you should just use the two you have highest item level of - I just picked two in the video for simplicity. Spymasters web is good too but requires you to be dpsing so your results my vary.
Cool thing I learned while teleporting on my dragon (using Hover with Chronowarden build) - I was able to teleport right past the beam on the first boss in The Rookery, in case no one else knew!
@@anders8461 Even in DF prepatch, this was super good on stuff like Moroes’ bleed iirc. It’s been a staple for a while, but it seems it’s still not super well known.
Been playing pres evoker since it got added in DF and i understand where some people are coming from in the comments but always think about why you are watching a guide and where you wanna go from there. If you want to casually play m+ just do w/e you feel is right with stasis and just dps whenever you feel like it to be honest. Just giving my 2 cents and i'm talking from a high m+ pov with pugs myself here: 1. VE -> Bloom -> Breath gives the best HPS output in the shortest time. I can see where TA is coming from for many people instead of VE, as you don't need to Echo everyone before pressing Stasis and the Combo but it takes up one of three slots for Stasis and is by far not the HPS you can do as with VE. 2. The more effective you heal, the more time to damage you got: more overall dps = fights faster done = maybe skip one mechanic = less healing needed = everyone happy \o/ 3. You can take mastery if you want, yes but what do we lose? Quite some dps. As i said before, if you want to play casually it's totally fine and you might prefer more mastery yourself! BUT always check what it does for your class. In the end it's just more effective once again to get to a haste % you feel good with (in DF i felt 18-20%ish was what i wanted) and get crit and some versa. The higher the key the more important Versa gets as a stat for some classes, so you might not feel like it's needed either in lower keys. 4. Done your key and none died with whatever you pressed? Noice, keep going ♥ If you stumble and feel like you can't make it thru a mechanic, that's where you should look at deeper context of every single skill and spell used. In the end Evoker is such a fun class and aslong as you did not sabotage any keys and you are happy with how it all went, it's all you need to enjoy the game 😄
Thanks a bundle for the video, it's very well edited and easily digestable. Have a great week and I hope you'll get around to making the in-depth guide when the season gets going!
wow running the exact talent tree you were besides Vitality Instead of Dreamwalker. The quality of this guide Is above and beyond, thank you as usual growl for the content. Been having an absolute blast with pres evoker so far In the expansion, really looking forward to running some keys when the season starts with my group.
Bruh when I watched your Resto Druid guide back in DF I was looking for affirmation of what I was doing right already. With Pres, I genuinely need the guide 😂 Spec is fun but I definitely found myself struggling to juggle all the requirements to brute force and carry poor scaling during leveling (the only healing challenge that one can find right now) like I can on the more straightforward healers
Good guide ! Eager to see your advanced guide, and why not like Megasett, some videos/shorts about "how to heal the most difficult bosses of season 1" A triage healing kind of thing!
Even though shaman is my favorite healer and it seems like it's going to be meta, you inspired me to try evoker and I have to say it's been a lot of fun to play. I just need to play more to make less mistakes with the spell combos, especially Stasis usage is horrendous for me so far :D
When I play preservation I prefer to do my Verdant Embrace before I do Stasis. Then Temporal Anomaly + Spirit Bloom + Dream Breath. Verdant Embracing the tank in Stasis does seem extra useful this season to give them a little more healing through stasis.
@@Ratatoeskrrr well TA in Stasis has different benefits. It offers less initial healing. (sorta) But it does provide a decent amount of shield. Which is nice since youre most likely topping the group from Dream Breath and Spiritbloom. But it does setup your next heal aswell. So if you are facing longer term damage intake; the echoes from TA will be very useful for your next manually casted empowered ability. If you arent facing more danger then you can use it to spread a reversion on your group for procs. So youre deffinetly not doing anything wrong :)
All that I absorbed from this video is that when thing go bad I throw anomaly, push copy ability, jump to somebody, spiritbloom, dream breath. And frankly that's been enough thus far.
I tried flameshaper recently after having a breeze with Chronowarden and MAN does it feel difficult to fully utilize. Being able to renewing blaze an ally feels pretty strong but the amount of AoE healing you lose i think is too much. Also requires a lot more brainpower
Hey Growl, Glad you are maining preservation. Have you tried Norzdormu teachings and spark of insight? I was going to try this out to almost always have two essence bursts after empowered spells.
soo i saw a video from a pres evoker that when u play Flameshaper hero talent u should play blossom build. BC one hero talent enkindle (Essence abilities are enhanced with Flame, dealing 20% of healing or dmg done as fiere over 8 sec.) and with the blossom build it should be a strong group healing. especily if u take "Cycle of life" (every 3 emerald blossom leaves behind tiny sprout wich gathers 10% of your healing over 8 sec. The sprout then heals allies withing 30yds, divided evenly among targets) BUT idk if its really good. And idk i like flameshaper more in dungeons.. i testet chrono but its nor so fun for me but idk. i m not ready for M+ dungeons yet... AND i play alone often so idk if the talents changes if u play in group with friends or alone with bug
Here to say haste really only affects TA and reversion and since you are playing chronowarden Tip the scales already is overkill. The correct amount of haste for chronowarden is 0
Hi Growl! Returning player here. I watched your videos, what would you say a good healer pick would be for someone who wants to combine healing with a bit of mitigation?
10:30 Is it worth echoing yourself before casting the spiritbloom so that in addition to healing the party with spiritbloom, the lifebind will be transfering heals from 2 spiritblooms on yourself? Or is this typically unnecessary / a waste or a gcd?
The main problem with this is the window for getting your spirit bloom in the lifebind is really tight and if theres any slight movement or unexpected problems you can hurt your healing a lot. I don't generally go for it but if you are comfortable with the situation you can.
I just simply don't like TA, but love every other part of pres evoker. I managed to get through all of DF doing well without it, in fact it wasn't even meta for much of DF, so I'll just stick to not using it.
Wanted to play pres but couldnt setup my Clique (yes im not a healer player) so had to drop for now xD, no idea how to do it with new spellbook, even tho i had it working in DF prepatch
Having healed on evoker all through DF but not above +22 or +12, i honestly never used mana. I think i drank like 3 times. So dont waste points on mana talents. Spirit bloom honestly is never my mainstay heal, its always good reversion, breath and time dilation usage. Verd embrace for spot heals with echo. This is why many top pres evokers dont talent it for the 40% because we often already have the group layered in double rev and double breath. Still decent guide for beginners
Interesting to see you recommend stasis be used with ve instead of ta. That’s how I was playing in early df, but seems people mostly like to store a ta in there. Any further comments on that?
I don't think putting mastery as the lowest priority stat is a good idea for anyone except title range players, who should already know everything mentioned in this guide. You simply get more healing out of mastery than the other secondary stats. I disagree with some of your advice here: I would usually echo + verdant embrace rather than rank 1 spiritbloom for single target healing. I prefer Spiritbloom + Dream breath + Temporal anomaly as the go-to Stasis combo. This grants you a burst heal + HOT + ramps for your next combo. With temporal compression you want to use Spiritbloom first of the empowers to reduce the cast time by 40%.
this is about mythic+, building mastery gets you more healing but gets you 0 damage, building crit doesnt give you as much healing but gives you both damage and heal.
@@centuriao6114 The extra damage is quite minor, considering that you get extra downtime from healing everyone with less globals when you have higher mastery. In nearly all cases the extra healing is what's going to make a difference, especially if you play with pugs or are undergeared like you'll be at the start of season 1.
What's the justification on haste to 15% but no higher? There is no cutoff anywhere, if haste is the best stat it should only gradually get worse over time. Also, most of the damage patterns tick on a 1s cadence, so if you are trying to fit 3 casts in a 3s window, you either need very little haste, or like 35% haste to match that pattern. 15% just seems like an arbitrary number to give.
I'll pin this here in case there are any important changes but thanks for watching!

i heard from the shaman guide that simply having a flame shock up is enough to activate spymasters

Can u mouseover target spiritbloom?
Hey what about flameshaper?
Anyone got the stasis weakaura still? the one on wago (linked from wowhead) just gives me lua errors and doesn't seem to work?

it isn’t castable during. you pre cast it before ec and then that allows you to move around while ec is going off.
