You are the first person, including RUclips themselves, to explain this to me in a way that makes it clear as day. I now see it as a POWERFUL opportunity to share great products with fellow RUclips viewers and gamers. Thanks for making this great video, my E.F. Hutton!
Lol solid EF Hutton ref 💰
Right on, Blaine ☮️
One of my favorite 💯💯💯💯
@@Daniel_Batal you have to live in the US to get this work ?
Very helpful! I've been wondering about this for months. Thank you so much for sharing this information.
Excellent overview of this exciting new feature. Thanks Daniel for putting this together.
Wow, thanks for this imformative video! 😀
Great and very informative Daniel 🤙
Straight to the point. Thanks.
What a brilliant idea, that'll save a lot of time setting up third-party affiliate programs for a lot of folks! Hoping it'll roll out to Australia in time. Great vid mate :)
I’m sure they’ll roll this out regionally if it’s successful and they’ll probably lower the requirements as well
Hello great video information Daniel
Whoa! This is pretty cool! Direct affiliate progrmas through RUclips is some next-level awesome!
Agreed, Stanley.
Thanks a million 😊
I had this option 2-3 months ago but I lost access to it after tagging products on most of my videos. After many emails back and forth with RUclips support they have no clue this program even exists. They kept referring me to TeeSpring or Shopify to resolve the issue but they had no clue what a was talking about either. I just forwarded your video to the RUclips tech support so they will know more about this program. It’s been very frustrating for me. I had no screen shoots or anything to reference when asking about this. Hopefully they will watch your video and be able to help us all in the future. THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS VIDEO! 🦅🇺🇸
I've had the products option for a while now. I could add products, but just had no way to monetize those product tags. This just came my way the other day. My guess is that these were all regional tests that were being implemented until they were able to gain enough BETA sampling to get it all put together.
@@Daniel_Batal Thanks for the reply. I’ll see what RUclips tech says when they reply and I’ll post a follow up with where things go from here.
💲Great vid Daniel, thanks for sharing!! 💲🙂
Thank you Mr. Batal!💥👍🏻🤓
Any time, Mr. Paul Peck!
Thanks for this detailed explanation. You are great
My pleasure 🙂
Thanks Daniel. Nice work.
It's such a shame there is no UK version of this, yet.
Quick question - I see some affiliates selling thwir own merch on their channels - something I aim to do in the future. Does this affect you shelf with your merch for sale?
As far as I know these are completely separate features.
Sweet! Thanks, Daniel... Alomost perfect timing for me... I should be crossing the 20k threshold in June or July. Will be checking this out!
Sweet! Congratulations
Thanks for sharing Daniel! I'm hoping one day on my other channels I'll have enough subscribers to implement this!
I’m still trying to determine how to better implement this feature ☮️
Very helpful Video. Great Video too. 😊👍👍
Looks cool!
Thanks so much for this video Daniel, I wasn't sure how to add them, I just did on my latest video and I will go back and add more later. I wonder if this provides more profit than Amazon, if so, off with their heads.
Most of the stuff I tagged was about a 3.1% commision rate. I think it'll have more to do with strategy. I like that this is featured links.
Were you able to sign up for the pilot program?
I've had product links for a while, I just finally got invited while I was away in NYC this past week
I have aways to go but thank you for this information 😊
You’re welcome 😊
Fantastic! Can’t wait till they give this feature to creators outside the US
It'll happen. And they'll lkely lower the requirement thresholds.
Hi Daniel just wondering I'm new to being a creator but you have made understanding it alot easier for me, my question! Is this not just a way for RUclips to take more away from creators if they are now doing affiliate then won't companies do less sponsorship on channels. It kinda makes sense if you think. What's next they make sponsorship in-house so they can take a cut of that as well.
I don’t think so. I think this gives creators more opportunity to drive revenue.
@@Daniel_Batal I suppose only time will tell. Love the videos man keep them up. All the best for the future.
Hi Daniel, thank you for another clear Video,. Daniel I´m comming back for a question maybe off topic for this video, but, how you manage Haters? of course I saw you awesome video, the rock star video, but, at your beginnings , what you did with haters comment? just ignored it? delated it? and emotionally, how you made it so that bad comments don´t push you down? thanks for you advice Daniel, and keep save.
That's a great question. I'm actually halfway through a video talking about exactly that. I am a firm believer in expression and anyone can say just about anything to me without hurting my feelings.
That being said, I refuse to tolerate disrespect, unkindness or abuse from anyone who doesn't know me or attacks another community member.
I mostly have a 'one strike and you're out' rule. Say whatever you want but say but lead with kindness and respect first.
Otherwise, I instantly "hide user from channel" which from their end, doesn't look any differrent but nobody else can see what they post.
It leaves them shouting into the void.
@@Daniel_Batal Thank you Daniel for you answer, I recently started a channel, and of course hater are there, and im not a young guy that don´t cares of bad comment, I already have my years and it affected me a lot, so I will be anxiously waiting for your video that will be very helpful emotionally. Have a nice week Daniel, and thank you again.
Does It have to be my own product or I can use someone else's to make money?
When searching for a product to add if there if no commission percentage next to the item does that mean there is no commission offered for that sale?
Currently. Yes.
I just used this for the first time today and I have to say it’s pretty sweet
Used it to post a product or buy a product?
@@Daniel_Batal post products! It’s pretty nice!
What about products that say 0% commission? My channel is movie based so I would tag Blu-rays and DVDs related to my videos. Would that mean I wouldn't earn any commission on those products therefore it would be pointless to tag them?
Pointless for you, anyhow. Some people like to point people towards products that don't actually have affiliate shares.
From a monetization standpoint, I wouldn't waste my time.
@@Daniel_Batal Yeah, that makes sense. Thank you
You taught us very useful information. But when I need it, I felt difficult to search where’s that short video. So if you could put key words as thumbnail or something like on each video. That’ll be very helpful for us 👍
Unfortunately right now, RUclips doesn't allow us to make custom thumbnails for shorts. They just pick a frame from the video itself. On desktop, I don't even have control of which frame they pick.
I try to make sure the titles have relevant keywords and accurate description of what's being covered.
@@Daniel_Batal Thank you so much for your response 👍
It is great information, thank you for your effort to gather information and making video.
Hope you have 500000 scribers!
I hope so too!
Thanks. You answered my question within 14 seconds. 20k subscribers needed.
Having a clickable link on the video itself is a big deal. Many more people could see it and buy the item. Even if the commission is a little less you'd probably get more sales.
Most of the products I was showing in this video were about a 3.1% commission
i have the product page but can't add any product i think i linked some stuff before
I've had the product option for quite a while (and I've been able to link products). They just hadn't rolled out the affiliate shopping portion of it until recently.
I think they might have been quietly testing to see if they could get it to work and then see who might have been using it.
Have you gotten the invitation to the pilot program?
@@Daniel_Batal I don't remember seeing one ,i did just filled out the form see if they invite me
Keep your eye out for that big blue banner right at the top of the Dashboard in YT Studio. That's where it seems they're letting Creators know they've been invited into the pilot program.
I understand the exclusion for kid's channels but I'm curious what the reason is behind art channels being excluded?
Not 'art channels'. Artist channels.
That's how YT delineates Official Music Channels: support.google.com/youtube/answer/7336634?hl=en
Thanks
Welcome
Hey Daniel!! Been a viewer (subscriber) of yours for awhile now, but maybe I missed it and if so forgive me..... In my RUclips Studio, when I click CONTENT, then click on any of the 3 vertical dots that appear underneath any of my videos, there's an option in the menu for PROMOTE, When I click on it tho, it takes me to Google Ads and I don't want to make an instream ad or video ad, I just want to like/// 'BOOST' the post, the way FB lets you, to maybe pay for extra impressions than it would get just normally. Is there a way to do that on RUclips? (Does my question make sense?)
You can’t pay for recommendations on RUclips. Only ad placement.
And RUclips doesn’t use paid reach to help recommendations. Those views also don’t count towards monetization
@@Daniel_Batal Thanks Daniel!
awesome, very helpful video.
Glad it was helpful!
Oh interesting. Thanks.
Do you have to be in YPP program.
Thank you Daniel 👍
Yes. I covered all of the basic requirements right at the beginning of this video, JoJo.
@@Daniel_Batal
Sorry I missed out on that sentence. 👍
I have diffrent annoucment in blue like your but i will try
Anyway i have question .Adsense google is still for some1 who already crossed 1000 and 4000? Bcoz i see commercials already on channels that have less than 500 subs
Last year, RUclips anounced that they'll run ads on all content. You still have to be in the partner program to share in the ad revenue.
So you can't judge who is monetized just by which content might have ad placement.
@@Daniel_Batal ok i am just surprized i am watching channels that have 64 subs but suddenly is saw 2 commercials
Looks promising but hmm, i have a loong way to go, the only hurdle I've is the dreaded 4k watch hours requirements. Anyway, always love your videos and your personality! Now that you've switched to DR, I'm doubling up 💗💗!
I'm sure this program will change over time. Right now it's a fairly high threshold of 20,000 subscribers but we saw high thresholds before with things like comminuty tabs and they all came down as the features were more widely rolled out.
Do I need to connect to Shopify first to earn from RUclips Affiliates?
No. These are direct product placements through RUclips's new affiliate program. Though, you can also connect your own products through Shopify using the Merch Shelf.
Nice buddy that will be handy for me in the future, but for right now I just have to wait for the 20.000.
Still a long way for me but thank you so much buddy peace ✌ ✌
I hope it will happen outside the US soon too. But 20k subscribers? Oh no, it's gonna be so difficult.
Fingers crossed!
Interesting interface.
This will definitely disappear.
It's only because it's in pilot form.
What we'll see is what I was seeing before they rolled out the integration.
It'll just be that "product' link in your video edit page where you can add a product and the rest will most likely take care of itself.
Thank you so much. I am hoping they have pet Products.
They do. Still a bit limited overall as it's still in pilot form but they'll keep adding more brands and products as it rolls out.
Daniel i am testing stabilization video from my old HD videos ( not yet SD)
Stabilzations are cropping video 0.250 picture .But how to export it correcly as i marked best in video swttings and from just 2 files less than 300mb davinci made 2gb file .2 Hd video file is around 1 minute. 🤔🙄
Export locally. Define all of the parameters, not just use presets.
@@Daniel_Batal will try as HD dont need more than 20mbit quality . I will even lowe bitrate as i dont need so much GBs.
WoW ! I didn't see how they will keep this legal for affiliate links. The FCC says we have to have a message that this is a paid link that might offer some commission. I assume the product link will have some sort of "warning" ha ha ha...yeah...my humor, but I'd assume RUclips will cover that legal description issue ?
Answered right in this video. 🙂
Thanks Daniel I'll watch again. Didn't catch it I guess.
The product link contains a "commission earned" designation.
Good to know they've got it covered ! Super thanks Daniel. I had to pull all my links once due to not having a proper description of commission links. Took me weeks to make sure it was covered with a statement posted in each " description below" thing. I went over the law and policy before "fixing it".
Yey, just what I always wanted. To give up my corporate marketing job to sell space on my valued content to corporate marketers.
Don't worry, your channel doesn't qualify for this feature. You're safe ☮️
New goal: Get 20k and move to the USA
Ha! Well, 20k you'll hit no problem, the moving part may be tough. My guess is it'll roll out regionally as they figure out the local laws and restrictions. They'll probably also drop the subsriber requirement. They always start high to push out scammers and bot channels and tend to lower that over time.
By the time I hit 20k I’ll be 100 years old 😩
Ha! Come on! I hit 17,000 subsribers in my first year. If you want it, it's totally doable.
That's great news, just have to get to the 20K followers. I wished they made it available to all
I’m sure it will become more available with lower requirements as it progresses
Very powerful, but20,000 subs? DAAAAANG, YT! But then I guess the larger your subscriber base is the better chance you have of actually making money. Good info as always. Your topics are always very well explained.
I'm sure, as with most YT features, as it rolls out and they get it up and running... they'll lower the requirements. Channel Memberships used to have a 30,000 subscriber requirement.
@@Daniel_Batal really! I didn’t know that. We shall see.
@@Daniel_Batal Wow, I didn’t know that! I’ve had no luck with the amazon affiliate thing. I’m still small though. I need to look into the store feature too.
That's awesome, I only need 11K subscribers but I think if the program has a lot of success RUclips will lower the requirements. Thanks for sharing.
I agree
Ok, at 4:15 they post "Earn Commission"....man that's a cheap shot, but covers the regulation LOLOL...OMG...too funny.
Wish we could get away with that on Sponsored content 😁
You know it !😀
Regards 😊
I'm hoping I can hit 5k subs by the end of the year... would be killer to hit 10k, but I don't think that is realistic... I see that 10k is where most creators can really start getting company's that want to work with them... 20k is a good long away for me... Hopefully by the time I hit 20k, they will have a good selection of companies I'd like to work with.
It’s not really so much about subscribers as it is about engagement.
I helped one of my coaching clients land 5 brand ambassador deals (about $30,000 in revenue) in the cooking niche in 7 days when he was at 2,000 subscribers.
@@Daniel_Batal one of the company's that's big at working with channels in my niche doesn't start till 10k subs, I don't think they pay attention to other metrics... Maybe they do
Neat plan…but soooo far away for me.
Someday…
Is RUclips taking a cut (30%) of the earned commission or is their cut already figured into it?
You know everything I do. I'm not seeing any sort of rev-share because RUclips is only the vehicle but I put all of the TOS on screen for everyone to read along. ☮️
Wouldn’t that hurt your AVD, since people will be clicked out of your video who knows in what time stamp in your video?
That's a good question.
Let me a few questions and comments in return because I always try to make very clear to creators that thinking about one metric in isolation is unhealthy.
Do you think people who don't really like your content are stopping to click on the products you're mentioning?
How does engagement affect recommendation?
It would probably take a LOT of people stopping to click your product before any performance metric would be something worthy of a data discussion so...
Do you expect to have enough people stopping and clicking on your product placement to create a performance effect (let's call it thousands of people) which would probably mean you'd see lots of money coming your way but you now worry about if the fact that they've paused and you just made a ton of money might but somehow hurt your on-platform recommendations?
@@Daniel_Batal love it!! I just asked because some people might click out, window shop… and go to someone else’s video or leave the platform all together…. I mean I don’t even need to worry about it right now, I don’t even have 10 followers 🤷🏻♂️
Interesting, I wonder if they will have pet products I can link lol
That's what I am hoping! Hope they do.
They do. Still limited but I think we can expect more brands and products as they roll it out further.
Nice. Hope they expand to international markets
I'm sure they will once they get a handle on regional restrictions.
I wonder if the ad revenue will drop now that more and more RUclipsrs come in the platform and make content...
Maybe?
I've been here since 2012 and I personally think that more creators/more opportunity means more revenue. Did you happen to catch the Goldman Sachs prediction recently about the Creator Economy and growth projections? ---> www.digitalinformationworld.com/2023/05/goldman-sachs-report-reveals-creator.html
@@Daniel_Batal Thank you for the link, I just read it and that's actually a really nice graph there to be honest :D
I hope to be able to make a living in the future by being a Content Creator.
at least from a video consumers perspective this isn't annoying/distracting and could actually be helpful.
I think so too. Especially if Creators use it wisely. It could be a really smart integration.
Well the 20k subs knocked me out,,,next
Dang 20,000 😪.
My guess is that will be decreased over time. Channel Memberships started at over 30k and now it's down to 1,000
Massive brain injury Daniel over here 🤣🤣🤣
?
That's awesome! Can't wait until I even get to 1K subs. LOL.
You can do it!
Alas, it's no good if you have less than 20K subs, so it sucks 😥
I don’t think that sucks. There is no value in this feature for creators with no substantial following.
It’s a bit like being angry that they won’t let toddlers drive.
And I mean that with all due respect from someone who was a RUclips toddler not that long ago
@@Daniel_Batal I've seen plenty of fully-grown adults down my way who shouldn't be allowed to drive 😁
Personally, at nearly 7K subs, I wish it was possible. Maybe make it a views-based thing, since I get a ton of views, but since it's from gameplay, they rarely subscribe as they just watch the videos and hop away again.
However, reducing the basic monetisation requirements to 500 subs (and 3K watch hours) is pointless, when RUclips basically hog the monies to themself.
I think we see things a bit differently. RUclips gives us 55% of their ad revenue and they do all the heavy lifting finding those companies and selling ad space.
I think that's actually pretty generous.
What I DO think is criminal is the 30% they take from things like superchats. Imagine an ATM charging 30% for transaction fees.
I expect this feature will change as it rolls out to larger regions. Just like all the other features, they'll most likely lower the enrollment requirements once they have the kinks worked out.
@@Daniel_Batal The ad revenue %age is a separate issue from the shopping links one, though. However, the subs requirements may as well be the same, and then they can still get their 45%, whereas right now, they're getting nothing.
However, another element I would fix is that so often, the algorithm favours and promotes huge channels and not smaller ones, and I think it should particularly identify those channels which have clearly got bored with what they're doing, and pump out the laziest videos they can think of, just to maintain their Patreon income. I could name a dozen channels like that. Those 'RUclipsrs' need to step aside, get a proper job, and let other channels thrive who are putting in the effort.
And in the UK, we used to have ATMs charging a pound for each transaction, and you'd only find out once you'd taken the money out. There was a backlash against that, though. It doubled in price later, and I think is still in effect in shops which have an ATM where a bank isn't present, but no-one likes that as it preys on people who don't live in big cities with a bank easily available to them.
I could probably go on for days explaining that there is no such thing as 'the algorithm' and deep dive into the video corpus, Google brain and the recommendations systems but it probably bore you to death.
Big channels aren't being favored.
Viewer behavior and accumulated data from consistent video performance is being played out.
Every big channel started exactly where we all did. At zero.
No use to me!
I think it has use for almost any creator who meets the criteria.
hope u earn enough
Me too. This RUclips business is expensive! 😜
@Daniel_Batal, I'm in the program! I mentioned I would keep you updated on where things go with my experience with the RUclips affiliate program. As of Monday, 6/19/23, I have access and have accepted the terms. I finally had time yesterday and went through and tagged some products on some of my videos. The sellers in the program are very limited at this time compared to what was available during the beta trial period. Hopefully, this will improve over time. They clearly list each commission rate for any given product and seller, and I did see the same product from more than one seller with different commission rates, so this is something to look at when tagging. I saw some products available from 0% commission up to 40%. I'll continue to report my experience here if you like?
Yeah, definitely let me know what's working for you! This is a new program so I think it'll take a bit of time to really take hold. Always looking to hear from anyone who figures out a better way to drive revenue.
@@Daniel_Batal Awesome, I’ll post updates as I learn more. So far it seems pretty straightforward and easy to set everything up. 😁👍
20k subs 😮 I wish 🫣
These limits tend to drop over time. I'm sure for now it's a matter of keeping product linking out of scammers & bot channel hands.
