I do find that keeping videos in the 5 minute range works best. Split the subject into bite size chunks. Cover the key points and don't make them watch paint dry. Ok, so I almost did that video on comparative paint drying, but thought better of it, even in time laps, it just sucked the energy out of the video.
Absolutely on spot. Yet somehow people got used to some of the things that are to be avoided. You see, in Hungarian language "you" in singular is another word than "you" in plural. I tried to be more personal by using the singular form instead of the widely used plural form in youtube videos. Quite some viewers attacked me in comments for sounding weird. I still use the singular as it calls more for personal action (not only in case of smashing the button) 😊
Well here I thought I was doing better this year on RUclips until I watched this hahah. Definitely going to implement this in my future vids thanks Daniel
Nice vid length. I'm making most of my vids in the 3 to 6 min range now. Saves so much editing time and cost, and I'm focusing on just making the vids better.
The way you showed the last tip completely got me off guard, lol!! You not only tell what to do, but you SHOW what to do. For me, that's the essence of your channel. Love your content man, thanks.
The single most important thing you can do in any video is the keep that viewer watching. The next most important thing you can do is to get them to watch another video. If you're going to ask for anything, ask for that. That's what will grow your channel. 👊😎☮️
Great tips Daniel- I don't talk in my videos. I do restoration videos and do notice a lot of people drop off in the first 10-20 seconds where am still showing the product and its current condition. So getting people to want to keep watching past 30 secs is probably something I need to really work on. Take care 👍
RUclips is now really pushing the autoplay feature (videos start playing when you scroll over them even without clicking) so those opening moments are REALLY important. You might want to think about starting with a quick 'Before & After' transformation edit to get people excited about what they're going to see in the rest of the vdieo.
Thank you for the tips I will give it a go In my next video I have a bad habit of saying guys alot and the letting people no when the video is about to end 👍
Regarding "no intros", a style I've seen some creators do is a "Coming Up" bit, where they show a 5-10 second clip of one of the most stand-out parts of the main video (something lolrandom, something unbelievable, etc), _then_ cut to their few-second-long branded intro before the main video... Is that considered a good middle ground, for those that can't get rid of the intro outright? (I know DGRDave, a Mario Maker streamer, does that for his edited VODs)
This is very useful information; not just for RUclips creators, but for ANYONE that is making videos for themselves, or just to share with friends and family. We all need to be interesting, and not be that "guy" where everyone groans when he says, "hey look at this video I just made!". Good job! Keep up the excellent work!
Video is 2 years old but still very present and will keep these things in mind. I agree with everything and I am glad I had most stuff in my mind for my first video that's coming up. Extremely good point about speaking to one person and not everyone...I still see big RUclipsrs all of them starting their videos with "hey everyone, what's up?" By talking to one person only you make it more personal and intimate.
Good stuff - it’s easy to get into a routine with some of these habits learned early on in the process of creation - time to level up! Thanks for the inspiration!
Filmora definitely uses much more system resources than it used it. I’m running it on a $5,000 custom PC and it still bogs down on big projects occasionally

Question do I get rid of a long Intros or get rid of the intro altogether I’m a little confused because timestamp 19 says lose long intros And then you said get rid of the intros all together which one
ahh, finally no 20 minute long videos that don't get to the point. Thank you for your content! I'm definitely using you as a reference for my video edits!
Wow. This really opened my eyes. I have been watching all kinds of videos on how to grow your channel and they were so off base. Something else people recommend is to upload consistently. It takes time and thought to come up with a great video and I have just been throwing stuff together, just to have something to post. I'm going to apply the tips you offered. Thanks kindly. 👍
Oh my gosh! Can I get an amen for #3? I love watching tea channels and it seems a lot of them spend the 1st few minutes going through their smash requests. I end up skipping that part or if it goes on too long I go to the next video.
This is great and I agree with all of it! Now, as an art channel, which I've just begun to speak in vs overlay music the entire video, I've found that engagement is way down (comments, etc) but view time has gone up. I seem to be doing a combination of something right and something wrong!

Great video! A lot of value in just a few minutes. Main point I am taking away is speaking directly to my target audience! I am curious to see how they will react. About the ending I have a question: I review comic books and always end my videos by asking my viewers to let me know in the comics if they have read the book and what they think of it and then I have a call to action: if you like the book, go to the comicbook shop and buy it. I find this an important part. So just ending the video would feel weird, as I would leav ethis out then? Or maybe say this at the beginning? Any thoughts on this?
Try integrating that somewhere into the course of the video instead, if it’s important. At the end, just finish your thought and try to come with a phrase that allows to put another video in the end screen and potentially switch it out over time. Maybe something like, “If you love comics as much as do, click the video on screen and let’s keep this conversation going”
@@Daniel_Batal Thanks for the advice! I have already recorded a couple of videos, so I have some time to prepare the next one and I will definitely incorporate your advice in this one!

Been watching some of your filmora videos since I have version 11, I need to ask about uploading to RUclips HDR I have all my settings in the new OBS 28 update to support HDR, now when I export my videos using filmora 11 I also click on the color format at the bottom before i export and change that to the HDR PQ, all is good once its finished but it seems as tho youtube isn't getting the MetaData to say its HDR as it keeps saying 1440HD, and not 1440HDR, as I see on some videos that people have done. And tips much welcome thanks 🙂
Hey can you make a video tutorial of using multiple cameras and syncing audio? Using the audio of the footage itself is the simplest thing but audio quality is poor. Try to synchronize one audio source to the video is really a pain in the ass.
I totally could but here’s a simple trick: Clap your hands a few times when you start filming. Then all you need to do is line up those audio spikes with where your hands come together for every video and audio track and you should be good to go.
Well, maybe. I'll tell you what made me seek you out was your shorts on DaVinci Resolve. You weren't showing up in my searches on DVR *at all* until I saw the shorts - I was getting lots of hits from Casey Faris, Darren Mostyn, et al. The shorts made me sit up and take notice and ask, "Who is this guy? He really seems to know the platform really well. Why isn't he showing up in my searches?" Subsequently, I've been scouring your content on DVR - they are at least among the best if not the best I've seen on that platform. Now my ultimate target *is* RUclips, of course. So, I've been drawn to your other content on RUclips channel creation and development. Currently, I'm working on technique, so those have been more of an 'interesting aside' and 'content to take note of for later'. But the DVR content is what brought me in. My experience. Cheers
Also there's no need to specify the location of the description or comments as being down below. They never were to the side or above and I'm pretty sure they never will be.
Thanks Daniel for these tips. I have done #2,#4 and #5. 😪 You give great tips in such a precise way. As usual, thanks again for your help. I am inspired!
To right I realise that I made a lots of mistakes on the editing with your help I am editing slightly better but I still have to Improve much more. Your still the best 👌 👍 Kind regards from London UK 🇬🇧
Great video, a lot of great advice. I absolutely agree about the intros. Another mistake some do is endless nonsense before the actual reveal of the tip, advice or thing you want to show is shown. some seem to make videos longer than necessary just to get it longer. Another mistakes ppl do is to bombard with ads, now RUclips does that for you at the start of most videos, almost all, even my own, so annoying, and they are almost always unrelated and the reporting as interrelated does not work. But that's an easy fix with a ad blocker. Not fan of the boxes that pop up, but see less of those, it's not big deal if it's at the end or start but having to click them away cus they block the subtitles or some text or some part of what is shown is not nice. but I am not a fan of ppl putting ads in the middle of the video, I see some try to slice it in with the content so both content and ad is shown in split screen, not fan of that. I prefer ads to be at the end, as then the ad is still there, but I don't have to watch it if it's not interesting to me. I am not sponsored, nor make money on RUclips, nor reached 100 subs yet. But RUclips displays ads on my videos even for me.
Your channel is the best 👌👍 for RUclips content creators. I had watched many channels like yours, but you hit 🎯 the problems right in center! Keep it good 😊
One thing that turns me right off videos is when at the very beginning they announce that it is a sponsered and proceed to talk about the sponsers product for a few minutes. Whilst I always appreciate the honesty there must be better places than the beginning. Seriously loses me straight away. Love your content man. 👍👍
I agree. A lot of sponsors ask for that and they call it a "pre-roll ad". I refuse to do them no matter how much money I'm offered. I'll only integrate with companies that make sense for my target audience and only where they make sense. We have to click the box that tells RUclips if a video has even a second of sponsorship in it so that "Includes Paid Promotion" overlay kind of annoys me. They used to just let us integrate it into the video. Now it's like a big warning label that turns some viewers off
@@Daniel_Batal ah thank you for expanding on the requirements of RUclips and sponser request regards pre-roll ads. I didn't know any of that. Its greatly appreciated that you don't have pre-roll ads. Really. I often think they do more harm than good. Love your content Daniel. Thanks for what you give to the community. 👍
Great tips Daniel. Thanks to you, I am only guilty of one and that's the thanking everyone at the end (on the videos that I talk) so I am changing that now. Thanks so much for tips.
Before I found you I saw this in my analytics and went through and deleted all my intros from 45 videos. And I saw people using the smash button thing, I thought about it but just couldn’t bring myself to it lol
Great video, Daniel - thanks very much for this. 😊My husband and I create travel vlogs and we will look at improving the ending as currently we do say "thanks for watching" and we review our experiences. We'll aim to replace this with something similar from your recommendation. Also, do you think it's worth not having any elements in the video popping up with "like", "subscribe", "get notified" at all, or just once-twice after half of the video has elapsed?
I don't mind a lower third reminding people to maybe like or subscriber as the video plays through. That being said, I've polled large audiences and almost nobody said they subscribed to a channel because the video told them to. I think the single most important thing you can do is to get people to watch another video from your channel. If you're going to ask for something? Ask for that.
100% That's a totally different crop. You'll end up with black lines all around your footage in Full 4k. You'll need to stretch that footage to fill in the project itself by setting the project to the same aspect ratio and resolution
@@Daniel_Batal at the end of my latest video I did a recap and also said I hope you enjoyed this video. Although I’m getting some good views, at least for my channel, I can see when I said those two things; the drop-off curve is headed south, lol! Dang it!! I’ve got to work on that!
Ugh... I hear ya! I've done that SOOOOO many times. It took a lot of videos for me to figure out what seemed to work a little better than others. I found the more I kept it just to what absolutely needed to be in the video and didn't drag out the endings, the better the videos performed.
I know I'm a bit late to be commenting on this one, but I had to say, you nailed it! I don't know how many great videos I've missed, because 30 seconds in I'm still being told what to expect, and to "Smash", (yeah, yuk!) that like button. The Video Title told me what to expect, so GET ON WITH IT! You practice what you preach Danial. I came to your channel recently, because of... the 'Thing' that 'Someone' did to you. But now, I'm here to stay.
Idk about intros. I use them when I feel it adds to the video and they know it part of a series. Also u have use it lately because well haven't made more videos but what I getting at is my fans have asked me where are my intros and they like them because it shows how I have grown and gotten better at editing. I have also read books on this as well.
Well, here's my take. Let your data be your guide. If you're making content and struggling to get let's say 1,000 views on a video after it's been up for months... I think a creator at that point should reassess how they are structuring their content. Your "fans" are not your target audience. They are just a handful of people who have left a comment on your video. Who you're trying to reach is your "Target Audience". Your target audience are the millions of people who have absolutely no idea who you are and might actually be interested in your content but they are choosing not to watch when your videos are presented to them as Impressions. That's the place I think most Creators need to put their focus, not on making intros which don't grow your channel.
@@Daniel_Batal I agree with you. If I do help video then intro no. But if I do like a series or like a TV series then I do the intro so they know this is a continuation of the story line. If I do a music video then no intro. If I do a camping videos then a intro. Which can help. 💯 I agree I have to always reassess my situation. You did say I need to reach my target audience. I think I need to learn more about that and how to find that. Do you have a video on that? Thanks for the advice
I'm actually working on a video right now covering what I believe are the 7 factors that will make or break a video, regardless of niche. I'll drop that ASAP.
I agree. Asking people to like or subscribe is in my opinion, sounds selfish. I don't know why many 'experts' asking us to do those things. For example, I subscribed to you because I want to show to Filmora that users aren’t happy with Filmora.
Hey Daniel i think you are only who will answer me for 2 questioms but 1st i will ask one for now .Lets say we have gaming channels but oldies 80s 90s 00s pc Atari amiga. WE have creative Commons rights which means for future reuse. SO if such channel grow up will be monetized ? If content is reused which means downloaded and uploaded again ? Cheers
If the content is original content and provides value to the target audience, there shouldn’t be a problem with getting monetized on RUclips. Reused or repurposed content, probably not. Now, whether some of those game manufacturers try to issue copyright claims is another issue. Atari has been notorious for targeting creators. Remember that you can always challenge any copyright claim
@@Daniel_Batal for now i am not getting any copyright strike.I scored only once but it was before making it public .So it means reused can be problem and channel can have no future or can be shut down by youtube .Bassicly i was uploaded from channels that have no uploads for months also very low number of subscribers .But since you just told me that such content wont be monetized i may switch to other niche .👍
Yeah, definitely don’t just reupload other peoples content. Make sure you’re creating something original. It can be the same niche, just make sure it’s your own unique content.
@@Daniel_Batal copy that so i think i will switch niche to different content for own good .Now 2nd question. As we all know we need 4000 hours. So lets say i have 1001 subscribers and 4001 hours .When youtube will confirm my channels is ok for monetizing is that mean counter is from 0 ? Or not stay at 4001 ? And do i need 4000 every year ?
The watch time requirement is a rolling requirement. Meaning, you have to have accumulated 4,000 watch hours in the last 365 days. That's why some peole think they are losing watch time when they only look at the monetization requirements tab. Don't sweat that too much because you don't make any real money with only 4,000 watch hours in a year. You should be trying to drive a lot more hours than that per year as you grow if you want to earn any kind of money on RUclips. Just trying to keep building original content that connects with your target audience.
the best points made..when i make my new videos once i get better on filmora, I swore i wasnt gonna ask to hit the button etc., I assume viewers know what that is if content is interesting. Thanks you are helping with filmora and now you know...i might even say dont hit the subscribe button..lol
I polled hundreds of viewers and none of them could remember ever subscribing to a channel just because the creator told them to. I think it’s important for us to focus on the viewer experience more than anything. That’s what will sway them into action

Cheers
I appreciate the perspective and kind words ☮️❤️
Also there's no need to specify the location of the description or comments as being down below. They never were to the side or above and I'm pretty sure they never will be.
These are all very important I hope new RUclips’s watch it you actually audited one of my videos a few months and I made thumbnail changes
Jawn! I remember your name well 😄
Been dropping and adapting new things and this will help.
Nice 👍
Thanks Daniel for these tips. I have done #2,#4 and #5. 😪 You give great tips in such a precise way.
As usual, thanks again for your help. I am inspired!
My pleasure! Glad this was useful
Great tips, Daniel.... Although I must admit I don't always apply them ;)
Just food for thought, Alvi
To right I realise that I made a lots of mistakes on the editing with your help I am editing slightly better but I still have to Improve much more.
Your still the best 👌 👍 Kind regards from London UK 🇬🇧
I've made every single one of these mistakes. I learned the hard way
Great video, a lot of great advice.
Thanks! As a starting creator these are valuable tips!
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you Daniel.
You're very welcome!
Thank you sooooo much 🌺
You're great at you do bro, keep it up. Can you make a video showing how you did that outro.

Good pieces of advice my friend. Seeing lots of new RUclipsrs doing these😄😘😘
Thanks, Jacky.
How are the Filmora tutorials doing for you, pal?
@@Daniel_Batal So so. Haha. Love the content you're making now!!!
Thanks, man 👊😎☮️
Great tips Daniel. Thanks to you, I am only guilty of one and that's the thanking everyone at the end (on the videos that I talk) so I am changing that now. Thanks so much for tips.
Glad this was helpful, Peachy!
Yep it does make sence :) Thanks !
Before I found you I saw this in my analytics and went through and deleted all my intros from 45 videos.
And I saw people using the smash button thing, I thought about it but just couldn’t bring myself to it lol
No smashing. Enough with the smashing.
this dude's coordination is so smooth he can blend a tip into the end of the video
Thanks!
Me too!
Sir, I know nothing about videos and presentations and delivery, but you surely are a master in this art.
Thank you kindly
Hy Daniel why when i export video it's not fit to display the video it's small ...in the past i dosent have this issue thx
Make sure you’re your video files. project settings and export settings have the same aspect ratio (16:9)
-> ruclips.net/video/dWN3hONWvLo/видео.html
@@Daniel_Batal i was recording in 2k and exported in 4k maybe this is the problem lol
100%
That's a totally different crop. You'll end up with black lines all around your footage in Full 4k. You'll need to stretch that footage to fill in the project itself by setting the project to the same aspect ratio and resolution
@@Daniel_Batal thx mate , i follow u about 3 yrs keep it going thx again for yr time !
Great advice brother! 😎 I’m guilty of a couple of these😬
We've all been guilty of some of these at one point or another.
@@Daniel_Batal I hear ya! Hey, I just want to say thank you and thank you for all you do for the RUclips community! Have a Cast Iron Day, my friend!
Another banger! Some great advice. I dig the outro idea 💡 🤘
Appreciate it!
😇Daniel you're helping my creations😇
👊😎☮️
@@Daniel_Batal you are a goat ty take your time tyvm 😃
Thanks Batal, much love from kenya
Love back atcha!
THANX A LOT FOR THE INFORMATION
what am i doing wrong on my own channel i wonder
I’ve made every one of these mistakes at some point and had to learn the hard way
Really good short video. Thanks!
👊😎☮️
good advice thank you Daniel
As always, awesome video and solid advice.
I appreciate that!
I agree. Asking people to like or subscribe is in my opinion, sounds selfish. I don't know why many 'experts' asking us to do those things.
For example, I subscribed to you because I want to show to Filmora that users aren’t happy with Filmora.
lol the end was smooth
Thank you Sir. This help me alot 😋
Sir, I really admire ur work and it really helped me a lot in my channel 🤗
Amazing hair higlights!😝
Thanks 😅
Dear @Daniel We Need Filmora but Its Too Expensive!
Please help us regarding this
It’s definitely gotten more expensive. I had to buy the Mac version recently and it’s a lot more than when I originally bought the PC version
Loving the hair Daniel 🔥🔥
Apparently I've decided instead of going grey, I'd go blonde 😅
Completely agree
Thanks for the tips , this is new to me.
Even though I have had my channel since 07
Daniel - I think you are one of the Best and I’m glad I found you. Thanks! Steve
I'm glad you're here, Steve! Thanks so much for the kind words ❤
Was think bout my next vid and had to come back and watch your outro again. I took notes this time. Where’s that 2nd like button 🤘
Welcome back! Just keep clicking like over and over again until RUclips gets the message 😅
the best points made..when i make my new videos once i get better on filmora, I swore i wasnt gonna ask to hit the button etc., I assume viewers know what that is if content is interesting.
Thnx for the helpfull tips....
Will keep in mind
