I really do not get going after the QBs from the top end schools that always have elite weapons. They rarely pan out because they get by on having WR and RB who basically always win their matchups. How many have dominated at the NFL level? Tua might have but he had injury concerns coming out.
I remember when this was Baker and other number 1 picks at qb. The expectation are too high this isn't tennis or any other one on one sport . A lot goes into building a Superbowl team . The young man at Alabama had a advantage Alabama. The NCAA is catching up to Alabama. He goes into this season with a o line in year 2 of a rebuild and chemistry. They traded away a number 1 receiver to get him to a team with a quarterback with similar attributes. Height same as Baker Mayfield will his balls be batted down as well ? On paper this looks good the game isn't played on paper . What is the game plan to make him successful. How much of a learning curve will you give this young man . The bar is set high that is a lot to put on the shoulders of a 21 yr old . I love the pick but bring him along slowly. Let him catch up to the speed of the game at the pro level. He might have to sit a year and run the practice squad. He doesn't have Cam size to take and dish out punishment. The guys on the other teams on the other side of the ball get paid to knock out qbs remember that. This is a project with tremendous upside if properly managed . If not this has the potential to go down hill fast and he take the blame . New headed coach new defensive coordinator there is to many new variables in the mix here. Aaron Rogers sat how long before he was called for duty learning under who hall of famer Brett Favre , Steve Young ,Joe Montana, he needs a journy QB to teach him the ropes until he is ready but who ? Someone with a similar style if play like a QB groomer Warren Moon , journeyman QB player coach perhaps a Tyrod Taylor as the transition QB . I'm just saying. He has been in the league awhile similar style and size .
Why am I not surprised that Shannon can't name a WR or TE or RB for Carolina? Meanwhile he's talked this off-season about Adam Thielen, Hayden Hurst, and Miles Sanders all signing with Carolina. So maybe get this man some note cards because his memory isn't too good. It's even funnier when he questions Scott Fitterer over Ryan Poles asking how long it's going to take to get the pieces around him (that's already happened) and get him some OL protection... and Carolina actually has a good OL! Who produces this show? Will you please get Shannon up to speed on the Panthers? He's wearing their colors and probably doesn't even know it.
Neither of those signings are memorable which is why he doesn’t remember. I didn’t remember until I read your comment and I actually like Miles Sanders. Also Carolina has an average OL that is more run tailored rather than passing
@@jamesowens1377 that is no excuse, nobody expects you to know about the panthers you are not a panthers fan and not on TV, it is their job to do the research before they go on TV and embarrass themselves

Bryce should be fine. People seem to forget that in Cam's rookie year, his WR were Steve smith, Legedu Naanee, and David Gettis (both out the league by 2012). He also threw for the most yards by a rookie (at that time) with a shaky Oline and a struggling rookie Byron Bell at RT. This was also when Cam couldn't throw a decent checkdown pass to save his life, he would literally throw missiles from 5 yards out lol. What matters the most is scheme fit. Cam had Rob Chudzinski as an OC that year and they played to his strengths running a college style offense. With the changes we made at head coach and OC, i just dont see Bryce struggling as much with this WR core.
this show is better now they arent beefing..they still have heated debates here and there but when they are both on the same page its sports talk at the highest level
Shannon and skip literally didn’t do their homework as they usually don’t with topics outside of lakers and cowboys, panthers don’t have an elite core but miles sanders and hayden hurst and DJ chark and Adam thielen is a decent starting core for a rookie WR. With a good O line and good RB room and top 13 defense essentially? Not bad
You can say Justin fields isn’t better than Bryce Young, but Justin Fields will most likely have more success since his team is built way better now. Carolina has no one and has nothing to trade. They’ll be bottom of the league for atleast 3 years.
Panthers have already signed free agents rb Miles Sanders Eagles, te Hayden Hurst Bengals, wr D.J. Chark Lions, wr Adam Thielen Vikings, dt Shy Tuttle Saints, fs Von Bell Bengals, dt DeShawn Williams Broncos ,og Justin McCray and qb Andy Dalton drafted qb Bryce Young Alabama they also have 5 more picks in the 2023 draft. They will surprise you this year with a talented defense from last year.
@@richardhincemon Sanders only performed well against bad teams, he’s mid. Chark is a 3rd option at best, especially with the injuries he’s had the past 2 seasons. Hayden Hurst is a blocking TE not a passing threat. Teams will just rush 4 on a rookie and drop everyone back, so he’s not helping. Thielen is way past his prime and a lot slower now. McCray barely played last year and will be a backup, because he’s not good. Dalton is probably one of the worst QBs to learn from. He was never good, held back his team every year in Cincinnati and has never done anything significant in his career. Bryce young has no other star on the team that’s really going to help him develop. On the defense: Vonn Bell is good. Shy Tuttle can help in the run game, but the way the league is going, DTs need to get to the QB and he doesn’t. Williams is old and will be a backup with no significant play. Not much talent left in the draft that’s going to magically change Carolina’s trajectory. Bottom of the league for 3 years.
People forget that Bryce Young did not win a national championship as a starting qb. So when they talk about how clutch he is its wrong. He wasn't clutch enough. The SEC is tough but its still not the NFL. He wont be on a team loaded with by far the most talent like his Bama days.
Alabama wouldn’t have even been playing for that national championship if it wasn’t for Bryce’s clutch performances against Auburn and Georgia. Get that garbage narrative out of here

Bryce Young does NOT have a better arm than Brady, what is skip talking about?!
According to skip every young qb like hurts and young are the best 🤣 automatically
Such an amazing draf I love seeing these kids dreams get made eagles crushed it too
50-50 chance this QB is a bust. Just like with every year. For every Joe Burrow, there's a Mitch Trubisky. Trust me.
They got Adam from Minnesota!!! I forgot too unc lol
I love these two but it seems like I do more research on other teams than they do 💀😅
I remember when this was Baker and other number 1 picks at qb. He has been in the league awhile similar style and size .
a bum of a first round pick, bust! Andy Dalton will be the starter sooner than you think.
Bryce has a solid offense in Carolina and a top ten D Carolina is far from the bottom feeder they will win the south
Skip consistently has the worst takes. Disrespectful to fields to say Bryce is already better having not played a single down in the nfl.
Now all of a sudden everyone loves small qbs for the same reasons they objected before. Flavor of the year.
It should to be embarrassing, this is why they will never come close to competing with mediocre ESPN content
@@Chibbery05 You just lied.
@@Chibbery05 If you want to be technical their job is to give their opinion on things that happen in the sports world and that’s exactly what they do everyday. Carolina compared to the rest of league is pretty low on talent and have no true start power so it makes sense for someone to say they can’t name anyone on the team even if they know the people. Now you have Bryce Young tho so that’s a name who will put y’all back on the map
watching Kyler vs Bryce will be funny.. these teams will quickly realize size matters at QB
Young ain’t already better than Fields foh Skip 🙄
Haven’t watched the vid but I already know Skip will mention Justin Fields name unprovoked. He’s on Skips list now and he’ll hate him for the rest of his career
been a bama fan since time began but im not a big bryce young fan(let me try to explain)my biggest concern is when he gets flushed out he seems to me to get happy feet, sometimes with bama he looked downright terrified whilst being chased and ive seen it before when they try to make a play instead of just taking the sack or even throwing it out of bounds.dont get me wrong i wish him all the best and i hope he pisses all over my fire ROLL TIDE BRYCE best of luck always brother.
Does no one remember what Baker Mayfield looked like behind this same O-line? 4-5 batted passes every game. We'll be lucky if we make it back to 8-8.
You’re an idiot lmao
2023 Carolina Panthers Offense
QB-Bryce Young
RB-Miles Sanders
WR-Terrance Marshall Jr.
WR-Adam Thielen
WR-DJ Chark
TE-Hayden Hurst
Not bad
top 10 defense and they aren't 10
@@Soft__lemons exactly i may have undersold it but it’s clear they didn’t do their homework
It's going to be hard to win when he's injured and sitting on the bench .
Carolina has some decent skill position players, especially Miles Sanders. A top running back is a rookie QBs best friend.
Bro miles is not a top running back phillys o line made him look so much better
@@youngd1886 panthers o line will do the same. We made Chubba Hibbard and Foreman look like top 10 running backs lol. We will be alright with Sanders
@@youngd1886 All I know is someone had to rush for all those yards and touchdowns 🤣
This aged like milk
On the defense:
Vonn Bell is good.
@GodLikeMike Some people see the🍩, some people only see the hole ! They play in a week division and could easily win it next year.
Justin Fields will be an MVP candidate this season. Watch
It's embarrassing that skip is hyping this kid up so much. He's going to a trash franchise that's gonna ruin him.
Errr what Shannon? So you don't know who Mile Sanders is? How about Adam Theilen? Do some damn homework!
Get that garbage narrative out of here
@@MrPeterPeterson Auburn wasn't even that good that year. It should have been a blowout. Also playing with the most talented team in college doesn't prove anything.. See Mac Jones ..
@@TheDabombg28 You’re completely lost. Alabama was clearly not the most talented team. That would’ve been Georgia (the team that had 15 players drafted that year, 5 in the 1st round)… which you conveniently skipped over when you replied to me. Bryce destroyed UGA in front of 70,000 GA fans (460 yards and 4 TDs) which is the only reason Alabama made it to the playoffs. Let’s talk about that…
@@MrPeterPeterson Bryce Young will be out of the league within 5 years. He is too small. The NFL is different than the SEC.
@@TheDabombg28 Impressive to see you came back with a 2nd clueless take after your first one was deconstructed. New levels of cope
He did get hurt at Alabama and he’s about to take another beating I genuinely hope he can hold up until the cavalry arrives!!!
He literally never missed a game due to injury, what are you talking about
@@Chibbery05 Injured his shoulder in the first half of the Arkansas game and did not return in the second half! Miss the next game against Texas A&M……. Man you goofies can’t even use google to your benefit!!!
I'm from South Carolina and I personally guarantee we will have a Superbowl within 5yrs. Watch and see. Get your 🍿 ready
7:55 he finnish growning
I prefer CJ
They starting off with miles sanders and adam thieland
No it’s not fair DJ Moore panthers 2019
How do you talk about Bryce young for like 3 months and never once mention Kyler Murray. I don't get it they mentioned Drew Brees and Russell Wilson but the one guy that's his height and drafted in the same spot as him isn't mentioned at all.
Kyler plays the position way differently from how Bryce plays the position tho. Kyler is closer to Russ and Young is closer to Brees
@@fumihiro8564 but still Bryce was compared to Russ because of his height and mobility so how is he different from Kyler. Kyler also is looking to pass first before you try to say he's run first.
It just pisses me off that Tua got killed for being "too short" but this kid is treated like God even tho he's smaller than Tua.
But you see how Tua is doing right now
Tua got killed for being injury prone, not due to being small. Now they did say his height was partly down to that but he had 3 surgeries in college (pretty sure it was 3, may have been 2 though).
Tua got "killed" for breaking a hip as a non elderly citizen
@Benn Wardhaugh They constantly talk about Tua's height. Along with his injuries and alleged noodle arm. But for some reason Tua led the league in air yard completions. They make narratives on players they like and dislike. It's clear as day now more than ever 💯💯💯
If I’m not mistaken, Carolina had 2 thousand yard receivers this past season.. so Shannon might wanna do some homework before he act like Carolina doesn’t have any weapons.
And now they have a 1,200 yard rusher as well!
@@bigfootstreehouse9783 I’m not even a fan of Carolina at all and I knew this.. bad take on how important Bryce addition is..
@@youngboy2140 Shannon said I don’t even know any of his receivers 😂 you don’t know future hall of fame Adam Thielan? 😂
