    Hello My Friend,
My name is Ian, I've stumbled across your video whilst browsing and really liked it and your passion for your beautiful air rifle. If you look after your rifle, it will give you years of joy and be there to hand down to your children when the time comes.
I'm 53 now. I was never allowed around air rifles when I was your age, and that rule stood until my father passed away five years ago.
I build my own stocks, too. This came about as the first air rifle I purchased was a Weihrauch HW97K with a plastic stock, which I never liked.
I don't have a workshop, just a kitchen with hand tools and a will to succeed.. My two gunstocks are both made by hand apart from using my router to cut out the part for the action. They are laminated and finished in Danish and linseed oil.
I worked very hard on them, they are my heartbeat. They are laminated in walnut and as. They are unique and personal to me and after not being allowed air rifles most of my life, I just adore them.
I've messaged you because you look a smart young fellow who loves his air rifles.
Your homemade stock there looks great. If you made it darker, that would be much better for you.
The beauty of making your own stocks, is you can make them however you want to, and its your fair hands that make them.
Good luck to you, my friend and I wish you very well in your life and air rifling journey.
    Take care, best wishes, Ian.

Hi Ian. Thanks a ton for the support. Really means a lot. I plan to keep making more stocks in the future. Safe shooting!

      Hello My Friend,
Thank you for your reply, it's nice to hear from you.
I hope you get much joy in making your own gun stocks and the fact they are unique to you.
If you plan to make any to sell, be careful what you wish for. There are a lot of very rude people out there who are not bothered how they act, and you'll never please them. Sometimes things are better kept as a personal hobby, though that's up to you, my friend.
      Be careful how you tread.
      Good luck!

Hello Ian, that was a nice story to share, thank you. Respectfully, I must tell you I'm not the person you meant to send this email to. I must have made a comment on the video in question and somehow emails got mixed up. That said, I'm a senior 73 years old and I just purchased three air rifle this year. A Beeman R9 being one of them, a TX200 and a Diana 54 Airking Pro.

      Hello Tony,
      I'm sorry, I do apologise.
I read with interest on your new purchases. Those are quality units, all benchmarks in their field. Your Diana Airking Pro needs no introduction as I think it's one of the most accurate spring piston airguns ever made. Diana made a real attempt at absorbing the piston recoil by introducing their sliding sledge system.
I've thought many times about buying one, as I don't think you can beat quality German engineering. They are, without doubt, fantastically engineered and made, no question. Though what put me off in relation to other models was, the cocking arm is one hell of a pull, and I'm not a fan of the cocking click noises of the bear trap. Also, it's a heavy beast. All that said, I completely understand anyone wanting one. They are absolute quality, and I hope you like it.
I have the Air Arms TX200 HC. Again, it is a quality, quality air rifle. The blueing, trigger, walnut stock, and workmanship are all fabulous. I love having my air rifles as they leave the factory, unmeddled with. However, my TX had some buzz/twang, so I sleeved the spring inside the piston. It now functions/shoots perfectly and fiercely accurate. What I also like about it, its the HC model, so it's a little shorter and the cocking lever more compact.
The TX's relation, the Pro Sport in my humble opinion is another knee trembling quality air rifle, beautifully built and absolute stone wall quality. It's just, for me, the TX is more compact with a shorter cocking lever. Other than that, there'd be nothing in it.
I wish you lots of fun with your quality purchases. I'm absolutely sure you'll enjoy using them and everything about them.
      Best wishes, Ian.

R9 owner myself, so far mine is stock, I will put a spring kit in it and may do some trigger work. I personally like the simple low bulk of the factory stock and will probably just leave it with open sights to keep it simple. Great little gun, I may buy it’s little sister the R7 also. I do own an AA TX200 with a nice Hawke scope, dream to shoot but a bit bulky to just plink around with. IMO. Springers are awesome, just add pellets and go.

Couldn't have said it better myself! As a wood stock enthusiast and amateur stock maker, I was beside myself when I saw this thing. That is the main reason I bought it

IMO plastic stocks look fine on an AR but a R9 is far from that. I’m OS and like walnut and blue steel.

@tomallen6073 that's the only way to do a fine rifle

All HW/Beeman break barrel rifles have no bear trap from the factory. All rifles that can be de-bear traped, I make them that way. All my Gamo's and a Crosman have been de-bear traped.
