@@brunogonzales3752bro so far it's just Asian Warframe with little alterations here and there monetisation is ok similart to Warframe hopeful they don't get scummy with it. It's worth a try. Just had e fun my guy...or gal
Your abilities can be changed you get upgrades that change some of your abilities up for every descendant answering your question earlier in the video. It’s done through the mod system.
As someone who has played Warframe going on 6+ years now, even when this game adds player trading, unless they allow for the premium currency to be traded too, it'll never have anything on Warframe. Yes, the characters can essentially be crafted, but looking at what you need just for a Ultimate version, it is MUCH more grindy than WF. WF respects your time, I don't feel this game will. Now, I have actually been enjoying it. As someone familiar with WF, the modding aspect of everything came quite easy for me, but I won't be surprised if some people are lost on that. Also, 150 of the Premium Currency for a damn Preset Space so you don't have to keep swapping everything around when changing character? Really? It costs 20 Plat in WF for an extra slot. 150? Hell no. That made me look at the store and while yes MOST are cosmetic, they are very heavily priced. Saying all this, though, WF has had YEARS to refine its identity and made changes from feedback; give this game time before its called trash, because WF was just as rough when it first came out too. As was D1 AND D2.
I feel like that’s a terrible excuse because they’ve had warframe as an inspiration You’d think they would have things like trading and premium currency trading figured out by now. cuz for warframe it didn’t really have anything to fall back on They were just going by player feedback and loyal fan base to get it to where it is now This game tho could have grabbed the already refined ideas from other games and implemented into theirs but make em better to sort of be on the same level as wf or destiny.
@@whysoserious4274 I agree, like, if another platformer released today, I'm not gonna compare it the original Mario Bros. that released on 1983 or something. Similarly, The First Descendant should not be compared to the first-release versions of Warframe or Destiny.
@@avee5870it depends on what exactly u are judging. If ur talkin about prices n the store, then yeah, that type of thing should b held to a similar standard as other current games. But if ur talkin about somethin like how much content there is, u obviously hafta take into account that it just released so won’t have the same scope and breadth of content as somethin like Warframe or D2 that’s been out for ages.
@@whysoserious4274yes, but they aren’t going to just copy them. They probably ARE working on stuff like that and doing it their own way which will take time. In my opinion this game has at least half a year to improve or else it’ll die. I give it until the end of the first season (currently in the pre season)
@@Softnwet12 I’m not saying outright copy But they should’ve had a similar system already in place at launch If they ever hope to stay afloat in the free to play ecosystem seeing as they aren’t doing it like a gacha game it needs to be as friendly as it can be Being too predatory won’t help It’ll just get the attention of everybody online and get destroyed They just started yes so this is their best chance to build up a good reputation rather than a bad one This is a good opportunity that other free to play didn’t have when they started Look at warframe on launch It was barely hanging on But a combination of listening to player feedback and that genius player trading system as well as their game devs playing their own game and realizing a lot of issues that every other gamer faces really helped that game grow it all starts here They have a good advantage Let’s hope they don’t F it up.
After playing several hours of FD, I was left with the feeling of "is this all there is?" It reminded me of Lost Ark in a way. I wasnt too engaged while playing it and supposedly end game is where it "becomes fun". But i dont think i can get to it. A lot of things just felt underwhelming compared to something like warframe. FD had a couple of looter shooters to build off of, but I dont think they did.
This is so true! For me it's not only the gunplay it is also the movement. It feels kinda strange and unnatural. Also the grappling hook feels like it was implemented, just to have something movement related in the game.
Here's the thing a lot of people seem to forget about f2p games, they are free to play and if you spend money on it and complain, you're the issue. If you want a company to stop charging the prices they are, you simply stop buying. But that aint gonna happen because gamers in general are selfish and kinda dumb tbh.
Eh, the whole "demand makes the supply" argument doesn't exactly work when the product they're selling doesn't have a fixed value. They can put as many $20 skins in the store as they want, they don't lose anything for those skins not selling. Is it a waste of dev time? Sure. Could lack of purchases mean less paid cosmetics later down the line? Maybe. But if even a handful of people are buying it, it literally pays for itself and then some. Digital goods don't function like material goods.
@underscore_5450 But what would be the purpose if, hypothetically, everyone stops buying and for them to keep making them? Wouldn't take time out of more important or more substantial work for different content, which, hypothetically, again, could boost player retention and numbers? And if that were the case, wouldn't cheaper cosmetics seem more appealing because it seems like you'd be spending less, but you'd buy more for less. Add that with the free content, adding more people in. You'd be getting $10 from thousands instead of $50 from hundreds. But again, hypothetical and the game is still pre-season. So I guess we'll see how Nexon reacts
Played the beta and my issue was that you are essentially limited by the kit for each character . Some the kits felt very similar. The other issue was the method for unlocking different characters seemed very annoying. Looked like a game that was going to be very grindy or heavily monatized. The missions in the areas started to get pretty boring too.
As a long time Warframe and Destiny 2 player, I would all for a better put together/more engaging version of Warframe. Not sure if this is looking like it, though.
@@danawhiteboy Warframe at launch was very shallow, but it was made during a time where there was nothing like it until Destiny came out a few years later. So the game was supported by very dedicated fans and word of mouth. The key to Warframe's staying power is that it grew very fast listening to player feedback. I think the problem I see with Korean and Chinese style live service games is that they only listen to a certain part of their audiences. It also doesn't help that this game from the get go is being published by Nexon while Warframe started indie.
@@thatonepenguinperson618 that is very much true. I used to enjoy another game called PSO2, a Japanese MMO and they launched a new game called PSO2 New Genesis. and in my opinion it is inferior to the previous game in many ways from the monetization and game mechanics and is very shadow, it seems like the only thing they care about anymore is updating the cash shop/gacha with items... us western players can scream into the wind all we want and our please will go un-acknowledged they only listen to their JP players but even then i wonder about that because things are pretty much the sam on the JP side of things when it comes to the state of the game.
This game has some next-level “Engrish”. The water chick (whose name is also something fucking stupid) has an ability called “laundry”. No kidding. I can’t play a game this dumb.
That was my experience playing the beta. That it was Anthem’s combat with Warframe’s movement. But everyone complains in Day One of any looter/shooter: The game’s too small. There’s not enough to do. There’s not enough variety of things to do. These games take time to gel…and I always find it amazing how everyone else gets criticized for micros that are nowhere near as obnoxious as those in Warframe…..
It looks interesting to me as someone who just couldn’t get used to how fast Warframe was and just didn’t gel with its art style. This looks more up my alley.
It's been fun so far, but I'm actually staying free to play. It's a good distraction for when Destiny 2 or Warframe or whatever you love doesn't have current content, but at this point it isn't much more.
@@AlexAlex-od7fj ive not found it boring personally, especially with difficulty ramping up on later content! Ive unlocked a few descendants and some ultimate weapond too!
Anthem kinda has a heartbeat again though. The team behind destiny bought the anthem IP and I believe they are going to try and fix it and launch it again. 🤷♂️ so there is a little hope
When I played beta I knew this game wasn’t for me Literally kept reminding me of edz and mars and when a game makes me think of destiny it just means destiny is better and I’d rather play destiny instead of some game that makes me wish I played destiny
Lol funny cause D2 started off terrible in 2017. 2018 before Forsaken bungie was gonna have their studio closed. If final shape didn't sell well Sony was gonna come in and take over.
@@memecrider3585I mean hey I. Agree with him too this game is just lacking and janky movement feels to janky gunplay feels horrible I mean everything about left a bad taste in my mouth and just made me want to play destiny 2 or warframe again
I found it to be more my speed because warframe has always felt a bit too fast paced for me and feel a bit isolated from players in my ship. Destiny 2 is great but ive always wanted something like it but 3rd person and more MMO-like. This game checks those marks for me and also gear drops from enemies like in anthem which I also like. Its exciting seeing the purple weapon icons hovering over the drop. Definitely needs alot of work to really shine. Sound is mid, UI is basic, story is generic, monetization is very aggressive and overpriced and crafting looks like its going to be a grindfest. All that being said Im still looking forward to playing it and hope future updates really polish it up to be a great 3rd person looter shooter mmo
Being a former warframe player who quit after riven mod was released I just didn't luck how much grind it took to get the riven mod of the gun you wanted then rerolling for the perfect stat with each tries getting more expensive. Aka mostly enjoying it cause everyone on the same leveling field but probably dip if they make something similar to that. Also it nexon so if it does poorly they will EOS unless it maintain a good player base like Maplestory or Blue Archive which grew too big to fail. Also I like to compare to it to warframe and destiny year 1 which is more fair of a comparison which this game does have potential
What always kept me arms length on Warframe was that it’s only crafting. So the fact TFD has on ground loot drops (and rarities) gets me interested. Enjoyed my time with beta #2.
Crafting isn't any different than loot drops. Instead of the item it's a blueprint. It's just a time gate mechanism. And given that Warframe is an EXTREMELY generous free to play game, that's a small price to pay.
@@FlashesSoccer011 yeah different strokes I guess. To me the two are completely different. An item drops and I can immediately equip it. And ascending item rarity adds to that. Just my $0.02 as a looter shooter enthusiast. Loot was my least favorite aspect in my 60-70 hours in Warframe.
"wanna take a break from grinding destiny for the 4th week in a row" YES! this exactly. I will play this for a couple weeks at most, unlock a couple charachters or so and then peace out until they add more content. This will never be a "main" game for 99.9% of players. Also, new season of Last Epoch is out next tuesday, so I'll have fun with this until then!
Man, I strongly disagree with this review. So far I really liked the game and it will only get better from here. I agree this is far closer to Warframe than anything . But as a Warfframe player there are significant improvements., One is bossing and endgame , Warframe has horrible bosses probably due to the movement. And war frame becomes laughably easy. While the first descendent is already built for endgame structure.. Warframe players have been asking for years for raids. First ascendant is already talking about implementing them. I really think this game is great. And I’m looking forward to see what it becomes over next couple of years.
It just looks like a (somehow) weirder Warframe, in an uncomfortable way, without the decade+ of improvement and community build up. The art style feels like an awkward mashup of anthem and Apex, if it was ran through a “japanification” filter
The environment just doesn’t hit for me The art style is lacking Doesn’t catch my attention at all it’d stick with it some more if the combat was more flexible Maybe I need to put more hours in to really see if it gets better But I doubt it The most I see happening hours later after playing is small ability upgrades that don’t change the combat that much.
The zones had me very worried the way the progression was, go here clear enemies, go here to marker, maybe 3 or 4 to a zone. The "strikes" seemed okay. The customization seemed very $$ buy me
Was looking forward to this game when I saw the Game Awards trailer a couple of years ago. (Amazing trailer btw) Skip forward to the recent play test a few weeks ago and it's just so boring. It feels unfinished, music is non-existent during gameplay, so much "jank" whereever you look, you immediately feel OP as enemies pose 0 threat to you from the start. Weapon drops aren't diverse enough and every enemy seemed to drop a gun meaning you had dozens on the ground when your inventory fills up. There were about 10,000 different materials to collect which lead into a maze of crafting possibilities which is just a massive off-put because you know those will become the only thing you're chasing in the end game. Can't see it lasting in it's current state, maintenance only status in 6 months tops
IMO no one has yet actually tried to replicate Destiny. Actually see what's good & bad in Destiny and learn from Bungie mistakes. Anthem said they would but later revealed they didn't play destiny, Sushi Squad Dev just admitted he never played Destiny. It's such a hurdle to have end game, content, good FPS feels. IMO no one has yet to even TRY and dethrone destiny. It's actually embarrassing
@@EchoDoctrine at this point it’s probably too late destiny has been around for a decade now it’s such a household name even if someone did try to beat it it would take a long time for it to prove itself Similar to gta and how there’s many games similar to it but gta is just the king and no one can wants to or probably even afford to spend 10 years making a game to rival it especially cuz it’s such a big risk If it flops that literally 10 years wasted while gta KNOWS it will succeed and the devs are so talented that whatever takes another company 10 years to do rockstar can do in just 2 years Same goes for bungie If bungie got a modern engine instead of their tiger engine (basically a d3) it’s gg and anyone who has been or is currently working on a destiny rival would have literally wasted their efforts Anyone can learn from the best but it’s a whole different thing to actually BE the best and we really take bungie for granted and the fact they are still trying new ideas after 10 years and basically perfected their craft shows not only how great bungie is but also makes it insanely difficult for anyone to even try to compete with them
Despite the company, Monetization and even repetitive grind, I'll give it a good while before ultimately making a decision of whether to actually spend money on it or not, but knowing the company I figure it may go out within a few months.
Have you played any of the Borderlands games? It's a shift in tone and art style and the writing is questionable at times, but it's a great solo PvE looter shooter.
perfect description of the game, monetization in search of a game, they tried to copy maps from destiny with the textures and characters from warframe and as i see it, since i played from the first beta, the game is not good enough to the actual market, it will never be nothing more than a copy of the other 3 shooter looters in the market
The standard that the destiny community is holding this game to is wild for something that hasn’t been out for 24 hours. I knew most of you wouldn’t give it its shake before it’s due but yikes.
@@christophertheofilos1063 it’s a shame honestly. We spend 7 months a year going “I wonder who’s making the next big looter shooter?” We get one and it’s out for half a second before we’re NOPE NOT ENOUGH HAVE TO SPEND MONEY LUL
@@tremolo1297 I mean I get it. If you are a Destiny stan, something that feels like a mix between Warframe, Anthem, and Outriders isn't necessarily going to float your boat. But, I mean,Paul is unabashedly here for Destiny, it got him where he is. So...?
This is a stupid argument. This game is being judged based on what it offers at the moment. Currently, it doesn't do anything well. There isn't a single thing this game has going for it at the moment. Even when games take years to refine themselves, you can see the foundation for what could be built. This game has no identity. It's a pitiful creation. It's BEST case scenario is that after years of refining and work, it could be a worse version of either warframe or destiny.
Fr lmao. People forget when d1 came out and even D2 (after they had almost 4 years of experience with D1) they were both pretty shit. Fuck it D2 is STILL repetitive and boring in my opinion. Just give the damn game time lmfao. I’m not gonna invest money in it early but I’ll definitely play for at least until the end of the first season before I decide whether I stay or not since the game is fun and I actually find it pretty rewarding most of the time
The game has a number of flaws, no doubt about it. But seeing all the Destiny commentators rushing to criticize every issue of each new game that comes out while they put up with Destiny 2's equally shady practices is very telling. I get that one needs to protect his own livelihood, but you can be honest and professional about it.
I've played Destiny, Warframe, and Outriders. My take is that I am getting what I paid for, and I will get bored of it just like the other games I listed. I just am not a "lifer" for any game. The one thing that bugs me about human sized bosses in this is that they can spit out what seems like an infinite number of shield generators, which just drags out a fight that is clearly already won.
I played the game on PlayStation and I liked it. It gave me a break from Destiny 2. It's better than Suicide Squad (before I found out it's a dead game) and Anthem (didn't even get to play it - paid for both games - joke was on me. 😭)
Yeah, I really don't get the comparisons to Anthem. The grapple hook feels super tacked on in this, and Anthem's flying was used for traversal, you can't attack when you're flying (except for one javelin, right? Storm can hover and shoot? I don't know, I only played Colossus). I guess it's because of the look and feel of the shooting? That just makes it a sci-fi 3rd person shooter then, not "Anthem" specifically. But yeah, what I played of the open zones in this from the betas felt like Warframe's open zones if that was the only thing in the game, and while I love Warframe's open zones, they're fun just for the open air to fight in, not so much mission structure, and even then, things can get faster and more wild than this. Here, it's so much more down tempo. You would think Nexon would take note of the newer stuff Warframe's done to up the ante on mission objectives and start from THAT point with more movement and placement and speed and push mobility to the limit. Only, they seem like they just saw the Plains of Eidolon reveal back in 2017 and were like "yes we need to copy THIS."
It’s Day One….. This game looks like early Warframe. With parts of Anthems ground-based combat thrown in. There is only so many variations available to a shooter game.
@@kellygreenii It's been in development for 5 years. "Early Warframe" was slapped together in 9 months. Yes, the ground combat resembles Anthem, but saying "it's like Anthem" is a little weird considering most people associate Anthem with "mechs that fly," not "generic sci-fi run and gun."
@@RedShadowOfSaturn Yeah…and early Warframe played like the sort of disorganized mess you’d expect. The issue is that Warframe got to work out its problems in obscurity. People are coming to this game e or tiny to have their minds blown…and no one promised anything like that. I swear, some of you are the architects of your own unhappiness. This game’s play loop looks smooth, polished, and fairly creative.
@@kellygreenii Only it's not smooth, or polished, or creative. The grapple hook is tacked on, trendy and janky, the gunplay is generic, and the abilities and upgrades are literally derivative of a competitor one-for-one...that means ZERO creativity. When Warframe was doing that 11 years ago, it was different and unique. It's 2024, tons of games have come and gone, grown and shrunk, lived and died. Games need to ITERATE and INNOVATE. You can copy someone else, and that's fine for the time being, you can succeed...but you're risking uniqueness and individuality by doing that. Trust me, I'm not expecting First Descendant to release with the type of story quality as Second Dream, or have the most different gameplay loop ever achieved, OBVIOUSLY many things are going to follow looter and/or shooter standards. But in order to survive in this space, you need to wow people in order to stay alive long enough to be able to grow. You're right, Warframe grew in obscurity until more people said "yo, where's this game been my whole life." And people are still saying it. If First Descendant was that lacking in features to make it stand out, why didn't it do the same thing? Grow in obscurity, develop a grassroots playerbase, and THEN take the world by storm? Stay in beta until you had something worth showing, instead of engaging in a massive marketing campaign? They copied Warframe, kudos to them for that...but it feels like a massive half-measure.
@@RedShadowOfSaturn Nonsense. I’ve been playing shooters for decades and I played the beta on PS5. Nothing about the game was “janky”. The only problem I saw was the code was buggy and prone to crashing. That’s it… and very common for shooter betas. But man do I get TIRED of gamer hysteria. Where everything either hast to be “mindblowing”…or “complete trash”. If you prefer a particular type of game, fine. Everyone has a right to their preferences. But this need to trash talk everything else just makes for a toxic environment where everyone ultimately loses.
Aside from frames dropping in some locations, some NPCs having the same idle animations which was funny and mostly you grind to unlock characters (I just bought my main I couldn’t wait that long) it’s fun for me. Paul too deep in the Destiny and Diablo well at this point 🤣🤣🤣 game is massive right now, just needs to iron out the performance issues. Mass delete trash items and your vault on patrol still is King. I can’t go back to D2 after that. Why should I manually dismantle 1 item at a time Bungie? Yeah no. You can also select the difficulty for your patrol zone or make it private/public as a toggle. So you can farm in peace or play with only your friends. Crazy huh? The QOL options is what makes this game stand out vs others like it. It’s going places, the story is whatever I’m here for everything else 🙂↕️

I agree. Everything about warframe just feels more solid and did so when it launched. This game is cool but it isn't neither unique nor very strong in any area. But it's ok to farm a bit and level some stuff.
I see a lot of comparisons to warframe and its worth mentioning that warframe started out as an indie game funded and supported by its community that grew into what it is today from devs taking a lot of feedback snd developing their game for years and years.
Honestly it's not bad, While D2 is stale this will keep me entertained, haven't reached endgame yet but its alot of grinding which I dont mind. Just dislike how its Pay 2 Win, or pay for convenience
The fact that this game is published by South Korea's Bandai Namco(Nexon), concerns me greatly. The gameplay seems fine so lets see how the "service" part of the game ends up being.
If you're not used to JRPG style games, then the UI and HUD and just how the game feels is probably going to throw you off a lot and you're going to call it a bad game even though internationally it's pretty successful and pretty standard for JRPG style games.
I played this for a bit more than one hour, and the one thing that put me off was the dumbness of the AI. At least in Destiny some enemies hide from you, specially the ones that have a shield to recover. In this game, they just come straight in your direction, not much "AI" in it.
Great review. I played for seven hours and agree with nearly everything you said! I think it'll last for a few years in Korea, but will die within a couple months in the west.
I wouldn't say there are "so many other games" like this on the market. Especially F2P. Outriders is all but a memory, Anthem failed, so that really leaves Warframe and Destiny as the big boys doesn't it? We need more of these not less. Not enough to them to call any new game "generic" yet. (Not to quote Paul, that's just what I see many people comment.)
Im actually enjoying the game more than i thought i would have. Sometimes you gotta stop comparing your side chicks to your wife, every one of them has their charms.
My first impression was the anticheat detecting the physx Nvidia software and closing the game Then the game just crashes before shader compilation can even get completed My first impression is that the game is literally unplayable, if it wasn't a f2p game I would be pissed
Coming from a Bungie schill I hope you don't mind if I get a second opinion since Bungie is literally the most predatory company when it comes to monetization. Maybe I will read some reviews from someone who got past the tutorial missions(2hrs).
I enjoyed playing the beta. It seemed like it had a good foundation to build upon, even if it did take inspiration from a lot of other looter shooters. It was fun to play but overall a bit lackluster. I hope the devs can fix the issues plaguing the game. And I hope they take the feedback about the microtransactions and tone that shit down.
My Lord found the game called Warf frame. The only difference is you have to click the prices down a little bit quite exactly the same amount of warfront with basically the same character set up as Warf frame with basically the same gun set up the war frame with the same missions structure as war frame although were war frame has I don’t know eight or nine or 10 different missions on a planet cookie card acrossmap this game has like four or five in a zone and then some of them are off into the special and that, but this is just a copy of warfare, black tackle barrel all the way from the the game design that the shooter had back to the vet designation and the cash shop
So far the coolest weapons in the game are the ultimate guns because they all have unique perks that tie in with descendants and you can make pretty cool builds with.
If you get into warfare now, your spending a year at least catching up to the other players that are in endgame I mean it’s not like you can jump in and just grind your way up to endgame in a heartbeat. It takes time there’s so much content so much to do so much story, and you really just have to work your way through every planetary body unlocking them there’s no way to skip ahead where here may not be the best thing in town gets a fresh start
The interception battles are pretty fun, but yeah it doesnt have a lot if staying power for now...kind of a play intil you get bored and xlme back in 6 months kinda deal. Also, you didn't mention the insane markup on critical gameplay items from warframe. Doubling your mods cost $30 here, vs $1.50 in WF.
It is very similar to warframe. Theres a few things here and there i can tell they got inspired by desting. Overall i think the gameplay is comparable to warframe but it does start slower until you progress story and start getting more mods etc. Also the grappling hook could be smoother. Where this game stands out from warframe for me is the loot, the loot has way more depth with random rolls and each roll has rarities to those rolls. I can also say similar to warframe the game doesnt feel as smooth early on because you dont yet have a stockpile of resources because you just started. I also just recently discovered in the game special operations in zones which are defense/wave survival missions with scaling difficulty the longer you go and the mob density and difficulty goes crazy the longer you go. These missions so far are the most engaging missions ive found.
No, in the general mission, the main story missions are like four or five. They’re all the same mission type, but then you have to special operations, which literally are more mission: right out of warfare like the fastest mission for you kill waves of infested there wave mission like that where you just kill waves so vulgar.
Story was fine for a shooter. It was actually halfway decent. The reason anthem failed is because it had a outrageously bad launch. It didn’t start with any endgame at all. It took him several months to work out all the problems and by the time they got there everybody was on something else if you go play anthem now other than the fact that it’s still as since they never redesigned the game it still has a bad gameplay loop. I mean all the loading screen the fact that every time you’re going to mission you have to go through several loading screen coming and going getting back to get another mission. That’s why it failed that the fact that the free area should’ve had you know at least three many people in it, right when you go play free roam is probably where a lot of people are gonna grind out gear. There are events event particulars that I remember that’s really not that doable by yourself and nobody shows up because there’s only three other players and they’re doing their own thing this game on the other hand has the free room zones, but they’re small one and everybody that’s in that building is probably working on the same mission you’re working on or they wouldn’t be there and shouldn’t fail they should’ve redesigned it but if you get to looking at what anthem was there was really only about a year of development and anthem it would’ve taken another three years to fix it to the proper development anthem that way itself not the loop itself, but that mechanics like the shooting the movement the various Axle skeleton whatever they were called that was all really stellar and a lot of fun and when they came in which they did, I think they are four or five strong. They’re a lot of fun too even to repeat I repeated and repeat it and even got the point where I did them all grandmaster solo With the certain character of my whatever my skeletons could do them solo or frame I mean anthem is a good game now it’s just still got the initial problem. The man long loading screen the massive number of loading screen does the stupid design the garage, the plant for the city, did it right? The city is a shared area you launch from the city you come back to the city anthem launch launch into a free mission. Then you have to go through a loading screen to get into instant. Patient then have to go through a loading screen to come back out then you have to go to the loading screen to go back on the platform then you have to go through the loading screen to go into the city or into thegarage I mean it’s just terrible fucking design and it would’ve taken them years to redo it and massive changes to the game so no wonder they decided to drop the project
I really like your idea that this is a monetisation model in search of a game. I played a few hours of the game, and it is fun at the moment, gunplay feel punchy with ps5 controller, the vibration and adaptive make every shot feel meaty. Crafting gun and character mechanic is cool, not sure how grindy it is going to be, and I think that would be the tipping point for whether I would continue to play or stop if the game can be too much time sink.
it feels a bit like War frame, Outriders and Destiny 2 and all around "been there, done that" - I went back to Lies of P NG+ progress after about an hour of this. not sure I am keeping this. I think I rather play FarCry5 for the first time ever and then Fires of Rubicon right after that, or simultaneously.
Destiny on launch had its charm but was horrible, vault of glass saved it. I do have my issues with this game but I do enjoy it and I hope it achieves its potential
my biggest let down is the abilities.... they are all VERY LACKLUSTER and boring. no one has some sick ultimate that looks and feels cool. eveything feels so basic.
So were Warframe's abilities when that game first came out.. Give a game time to refine its identity first, just as WF has done over its lifetime, before you call it trash.
@@derpy_j that argument is just stupid tho. warframe started more than a decade ago, if u release smth from the stone age dont expect it to be judged by the same standart as back then and if smth is heavily inspired, dont just skip over all the improvements made over time, like why repeat all the mistakes that have been made before

@@DopeGetsBizzy u argue in favor of tfd over warframe because u dont have to buy anything (same as in warframe) and the pricing is cheaper, when u can get the premium currency in warframe from trading (which doesnt take alot of time), so u dont even have to pay if u want to "pay" for smth. thats why im saying its a weird argument since its not pro tfd
The biggest turn off for me is just how "Generic Korean Sci-Fi Shooter" all the characters are. They're just so boring with nothing that tells you "here's what this character thinks of themself". It's all just so lazy and cynical.
Agreed. The gameplay and gameplay elements (like UI) seem uninspired and poorly conceived. It's getting a lot of attention right now because it's a new looter-shooter and uses Unreal5. @@bigmemer4398 Frankly, it's pretty easy to hate. I'm confused on how or why so many people are so starry-eyed about it. I played it for a couple hours and it did nothing that appealed to me.
I feel like that’s a terrible excuse
because they’ve had warframe as an inspiration
You’d think they would have things like trading and premium currency trading figured out by now.
cuz for warframe it didn’t really have anything to fall back on
They were just going by player feedback and loyal fan base to get it to where it is now

Bungie I appreciate your gun play so much more after seeing this 😅
This is so true! For me it's not only the gunplay it is also the movement. It feels kinda strange and unnatural. Also the grappling hook feels like it was implemented, just to have something movement related in the game.

Destiny gunplay with anthem flying is my dream game
Very true
So I guess we'll see how Nexon reacts

is corporate a good word to use to describe this game?

This just made me want a Tassi video on Warframe.
As a warframe player at 2000 hours in... You'd be better off asking God for a fortune.
I'm not a fan of the UI being in the middle rather than on the lower left corner.
"We have Destiny 2 at home"
Destiny 2 from wish.
I am enjoying this game for now, but i LOLd at this

@@Boo_Yeah yeah Destiny has left the building
You literally just wrote a padded Forbes article saying it's really not that good... but continue to play it 🤣 🤡🤡🤡
you’re stupid, aren’t you?
The visuals are very reminiscent of Anthem
Honestly it's not bad, While D2 is stale this will keep me entertained, haven't reached endgame yet but its alot of grinding which I dont mind. Just dislike how its Pay 2 Win, or pay for convenience
The fact that this game is published by South Korea's Bandai Namco(Nexon), concerns me greatly. The gameplay seems fine so lets see how the "service" part of the game ends up being.
It looks so soulless. Very typical of Nexon games.
"The best I can say is: gunplay feels... okay"
If it looks familiar is because it’s Anthem reborn
Im actually enjoying the game more than i thought i would have. Sometimes you gotta stop comparing your side chicks to your wife, every one of them has their charms.
I can appreciate the ASSets used, but man the monetization is somehow even worse than Destiny's. Looks like it's back to Elden Ring.
My first impression was the anticheat detecting the physx Nvidia software and closing the game
Then the game just crashes before shader compilation can even get completed
My first impression is that the game is literally unplayable, if it wasn't a f2p game I would be pissed
I'm 1 second in and I just gotta say the UI looks terrible
I enjoyed it during beta but was hoping they’d beef it up on release. A bit let down but I’m still hoping for the best
Getting really really bad frame drops on ps5, gonna try Xbox next see if any better🤔
This game feels like playing Outriders without the cool weapon mods
Yeah that alone would make this game much more fun. I hope they implement something like that in the future.
So far the coolest weapons in the game are the ultimate guns because they all have unique perks that tie in with descendants and you can make pretty cool builds with.
I actually really like the gunplay somehow. But I agree I have no idea what’s going on with anything else and the monetization is over the top.
This just looks so soulless.
It's Wish Warframe
Edit: Dull and generic are good descriptions. Feels very mobile with its UI and mechanics.
I think warframe 1999 is goin to have something similar to this with the new protofram but I think de will making it better
there needs to be more enemies spawning because youre essentially fighting for kills and spawn trapping the enemies
I think it’s fun for what it is. I don’t need a Destiny replacement, i just need something fun to mess with while I wait three weeks for the new arc.
I was bored during the open beta or whatever that was last year and it doesn't look like anything has changed.
Idk if this was first person w a great storyline and great weapons and fun dungeons maybe can compare it to destiny lol
it feels a bit like War frame, Outriders and Destiny 2 and all around "been there, done that" - I went back to Lies of P NG+ progress after about an hour of this. not sure I am keeping this. I think I rather play FarCry5 for the first time ever and then Fires of Rubicon right after that, or simultaneously.
Bunny isn’t that fast. As seen by you catching up to her while both were sprinting.
Destiny on launch had its charm but was horrible, vault of glass saved it. I do have my issues with this game but I do enjoy it and I hope it achieves its potential
The industry has been trying to replace destiny for over a decade but they have no chance if they keep making wanna be Destiny clones.
my biggest let down is the abilities.... they are all VERY LACKLUSTER and boring. no one has some sick ultimate that looks and feels cool. eveything feels so basic.
So were Warframe's abilities when that game first came out.. Give a game time to refine its identity first, just as WF has done over its lifetime, before you call it trash.
@@derpy_j that argument is just stupid tho. warframe started more than a decade ago, if u release smth from the stone age dont expect it to be judged by the same standart as back then and if smth is heavily inspired, dont just skip over all the improvements made over time, like why repeat all the mistakes that have been made before
@@ghosty9966 And? It still released in a very lackluster manner, and it was given time to bloom. Just cause its now 2024 doesn't mean game shouldn't be given a chance anymore.
@@derpy_j and i find warframe abilities as wel lack luster...and im not calling it trash i enjoy the game alot. i just hope down the line we can get some meaningful gameplay thru the abilities and ults
@@derpy_j sure giving it a chance is fine for whoever wants to do that, i will aswell, but im still gonna criticise it for that. the big difference in my eyes is that warframe back then was "new" and they had to innovate alot while tfd has alot of concepts and their improvements served on a silver platter but decide to ignore the improvements. i would criticise warframe back then aswell, in fact i did try to play the game and just couldnt enjoy it, but that was a decade ago so thats a decade worth of ideas and improvements that they decide to ignore (bit exaggerated but thats how it feels in some areas). tldr: their starting points are different, so i wont judge a game now the same way i judged a game back then
I played about an hour and had a good time. I never played war frame so I can’t compare
it sounds like a decent looter shooter with a terrible cash shop. So destiny 2 but it won't demand $100 a year just to experience the worst writing I have ever seen in a game.
I enjoyed the beta and I’m enjoying myself now..the pricing is way cheaper than warframe tho you dont have to purchase anything if you don’t wanna..it’s not perfect nor anybody’s Favorite game killer…it’s just familiar and right up my alley..I’m quite sure they’ll make it better in time..what all do you expect to understand about a game that been out for 12hrs…but iight, have fun playing banner for the next two weeks..so much fun
... that's cause players can trade the premium currency in WF though, lmao.... Unless they allow that when they add trading, you wanna hope things just stay as cosmetic.
"the pricing is cheaper, you dont have to buy anything.." same as in warframe, weird argument/observation
@@ghosty9966 weird comment being that all of this is true fym
@@DopeGetsBizzy u argue in favor of tfd over warframe because u dont have to buy anything (same as in warframe) and the pricing is cheaper, when u can get the premium currency in warframe from trading (which doesnt take alot of time), so u dont even have to pay if u want to "pay" for smth. thats why im saying its a weird argument since its not pro tfd
F2p game gonna take a while to get quite diverse
Yh gonna take half a decade lol
Game is ok but disconnects every 10 mins :(
The biggest turn off for me is just how "Generic Korean Sci-Fi Shooter" all the characters are. They're just so boring with nothing that tells you "here's what this character thinks of themself". It's all just so lazy and cynical.
So it's a sexier Outriders?
Constant crashing on pc, on high end machines. Official discord flooded with testimonies. No one talking about it in videos.
Could not agree more. In one week this will be dead.
How sure are you on that?
Agreed. The gameplay and gameplay elements (like UI) seem uninspired and poorly conceived. It's getting a lot of attention right now because it's a new looter-shooter and uses Unreal5. But actual content is boring and the game is only meant to pump out microtransactions from people buying characters and skins
Why are some of you hating on this game so hard ?
@@bigmemer4398 Frankly, it's pretty easy to hate. I'm confused on how or why so many people are so starry-eyed about it.
I played it for a couple hours and it did nothing that appealed to me. The controls are janky, the gunplay is mediocre, the UI is bland and unhelpful, the gameplay loop is boring, the story is a mess, character designs are (imo) repulsive, monetization is absurd, and the world lacks any depth or beauty.
It's a game that would require a lot of time or money to enjoy, and there are so many other games competing for those same things. TFD just doesn't offer anything to make it worth playing over something else.
The only reason I can see why *some* people are obsessing over it is because they're gooners who can't get enough of Bunny. I mean, look at the store. Over half of all the cosmetics on sale have a pretty clear target demographic.
It gets more fun when you unlock Bunny....but not by much.
