Yeah, bosses are dropping a lot of modules and some loot. Tied to boss level and difficulty so you will not want to grind it mindlessly. If you want to get better drop you need to challenge more difficult boss but in order to do that you need better weapon etc. The resources are in containers which you get from doing missions and certain activities but you can only open them by beating certain boss and then the lottery happens and you will get or most likely not, what you really want - which is special materials needed for Descendant or weapon research. The loop was very good in the beta. It all comes to their way to monetize on it i guess. I would definitely prefer to have the big boss battles at the end of some dungeon rather than spawn directly there though
I quite honestly don’t care what the micro transactions are for this game. Spend if you want, don’t if you don’t. The players have the last say at the end of the day. If no one’s buying something they aren’t going to push for it anymore.
Naieve. There will always be people that buy everything avaliable, also if you dont think they ruin games by making things intentionally inconvienent or unfun to incentivize spending idk what you been playing. Even if you dont plan to spend pretty common reason why people quit.
This company isn't even like that,if nobody buys something or not enough do they'll just shut the game down an make a new game hoping more people are dumb enough to buy summy stuff
Honestly i don’t mind if they don’t be too expensive but most things you can get in the game itself by Grinding which is playing also about Self Control .
Wow I never heard someone explain how to do live service so well, hopefully some game devs watch this. Warframe uses this same loot system, you do feel good getting a drop you wanted but its short lived when you realize you can't use it right away. I honestly still don't know how I feel about it. I like the feeling I get that making a new frame was an adventure, but I hate waiting 3 days after my adventure to get paid.
DE is looking to see if they can improve on the system. I understand the pain of building frames and waiting but a system I use to don't feel bothered it's just to grind the necessary mods for the frame and weapons while the frame is building and by the time the frame is done I have everything I need to start building him properly without spending weeks grinding its weapons. I have a lot of mods and I just start grinding platinum instead everytime I already have what I need for a frame which helps me buy fashion for it. Warframe gives you all the tools you need to spend the time properly while waiting which is what I like but I agree it needs adjustments since the game is 11 years old already and a lot of people have everything they might want.
Hi im new and liked your vid so im going to subscibe. I am still hype for the 1st descendant, i played the beta when it released last year and loved it. i spent countless hours on the beta and finished all of it. Im not just exicted because of the gameplay. IM just really excited because we got another looter shooter game and u dont see alot of them. I hope the game does well. I hope yall see this comment.
I played Destiny for years, sometimes I’d just go around the patrol zones with no real objective. Just enjoying the vibe and mowing down enemies with hand cannons, pulse rifles and snipers. The gunplay was just super satisfying and you’d just passively pick up drops. I’d like to try this game, not entirely taken by the character movement so far. It feels a bit sticky with the animations? Destiny felt so fluid from a first person pov, but time will tell. MTX look aggressive though, which is a shame. I’d rather just buy the game outright but companies want infinite money at the expense of the player experience.
In my opinion research and resources are designed to spread players activities to more variety so it would feel more interesting for grind, more interesting for new players who can meet veterans even in first areas etc. I think it is very clever way to help keep whole game (not just meta activity) alive. But we will see, in less than 2 weeks time. I can't wait.
These are all valid points - Am i concerned to have to use money in a FTP game, not really. If i know all can be obtained with game play with out spending real money i am ok with it. But if you HAVE to spent money to obtain progress i will get pissed. So far its not the ladder! In this light we have games like Warframe, where all you listed are in place, but still going strong. though once i found out you could buy all with real money and bypass years of grinding i was out of that game. That really pissed me of. But what i loved about warframe was the gameplay for sure, which i feel i get with TFD. I feel rewarded when i play TFD, will i get mad if dont get an ULTI reward from a boss fight... mmm no! I will be able to get rewarded with mats that lets me get ulti gear and for me personally is a great reward and feeling of accomplishment.
A good sound track like some death metal when facing bosses and going to war against the worms of enemies will do a lot. Splinter cells only flaw was the sound track . It was too quiet at times when on a mission. Made what would feel action packed seem boring just because there was no raw emotional motivating music
With your last point regarding "getting resources to unlock research and new descendants" not good enough and you should get loot, I find that interesting. With all of these "service" games, what tends to happen is: whatever gives you the most/best rewards is the ONLY thing people do. If you just got more or better loot from those boss battles, people would never do the missions/dungeons. This was the problem with Anthem, people just ran the easiest/quickest dungeon over and over because the other things were not worth their time. If they can provide an additional/alternative development path (in this case developing weapons that you like and unlocking new characters) for the giant boss battles, then there will be room for both. Also, they have a solution for the dungeons in TFD, you can see the rewards that you can get from each dungeon at the beginning - those cycle over time. So you can focus on things you want and that will require you to go into different dungeons as time progresses. I think they have some good solutions here. But we will all have to see how it shakes out.
Hey lono not really a yt person but I used to hang in twitch chat a lot back in the destiny days before the BS glad to see you’re doing well and I hope this game is a destiny replacement for you
I don’t see how ppl are comparing this to destiny when you have to almost pay for everything in destiny plus the dlc. This game is heavily like warframe u can buy the stuff if your impatient or farm/craft it all the only things that cost money are cosmetics booster inventory slots chr slots etc (some of this stuff is earn through mastery lvls also) like warframe
It’s because some of the abilities are quite similar to some of the abilities in destiny but yeh it’s pretty much warframe except the abilities compliment the guns in this game in warframe the guns compliment the abilities
They have small world maps. Missions are too small and need diversity in the fight with enemies it still feels mashing buttons. Rinse repeat. Wuthering waves for example has diverse combat system I love and appreciate for games
Concerning, yes. It’s a live service game & F2P. Best comparison I can give is Destiny 2. Same model perhaps. Im just curious to know if there will be micro’s to unlock things faster with real money. The game looks clean, movement fluid, the characters look pretty awesome. How will my wallet look after a few months though? Im going to play this and give it a try. Once players find out how the in game currency or ecosystem works, will it dictate people staying for more.
After seeing how the end game is going to function, I am concerned about spending my gaming time on a game that is telling me that it’s pure grind and it’s only resources as a reward. Spent too many hrs on the Density hamster wheel when there are soo many games that deserve attention you cannot give. Developers need to respect our time.
It is not just resources. Boss loot system is more complicated than that and you will aways want what boss drops - it is guaranteed to drop a lot of mods for your weapons and descendants and some gear as well (but not legendary/ultimate ones). To get legendary/ultimate you need to collect resource boxes and then beat certain boss who allows you to open that box. It has predefined loot list with resource needed for ultimate/legendary weapons or descendant research. You can merge or sell mods, dismantle weapons so you will be rewarded for each boss kill.
For some reason, The First Descendant reminds me of Anthem. Anthem's downfall was the lack of content at launch. Many gamers dropped the game before major content updates.
Regarding the material farm for unlocking a descendant i dont think it's a big deal in fact it'll be weird if i dropped a descendant, and with materials we'll have rng to slow down acquisition and thats the downside of it but on the other end if everything is accessible easily the game will be dead from lack pursuit or content early in the game's life. All that to say thats not as simple as it seems but the model seems to be tailored on Warframe and Warframe is doing fine ultimately we'll have to test to see if it fits or not
Not worried about the micro transactions I mean it’s a FREE TO PLAY game they have to make money somehow..how else would we get updates and DLC that shh ain’t free for them to make
The only game in this genre that worked was only successful out of sheer passion for the game itself. Which is one of the rarest things in the industry today. If they go into it looking to make a bunch of profit, It is guaranteed to fail out the gate, like all the others have, Including Destiny.
🙂 This game summarized 🙂--- Enjoy as you do mission after mission after mission not getting anything you are trying to get. Grind to get a material, to get another material that you need 50 of (along with 500 other things), then do this mission 100 times (with a supposed "50% drop chance") and finally get a covid-virus-looking ball, and that ball gives you a small chance at just 1 part for a character or gun (which you definitely won't get unless you pay for it). 🎉
The only problem with this game is that they showed all those powers and they focus so much on guns that the powers become second thought wen for me, it should be the primary objective
It baffles me how companies screw up mtx stuff. Its simple. Make it Cosmetic Only, make it affordable, make it varried. Simple. If a skin/outfit costs $30+....nope. $5, id likely buy 3. Release new ones everyone month. Ontop of that, if youve made a fun game and not a money sucking machine, your game will do fine.
Cosmetic MTX are meant for the "whales" that have spare money to waste, not for every player. They know that going for those that have a fat wallet is a much more guaranteed way to make cash.
This is going to be a great game to play with friends. Who cares about micro transactions in a PvE game. Most of it will probably be centered around cosmetics anyway
It lost me when I saw it has fixed heros and not customizable characters. Puts me off when I see everyone else looking like everyone else. I played 10 min and it just felt like outriders with big budgets.
I'm a destiny player so I love looter shooters and this isn't a destiny killer at all. Uninstalled after the intro mission once I looked through all the menus to see how it's all layed out. I saw that you can't have a custom character and I was out.
I enjoyed the gameplay loop & the abilities. But again the open world was completely barren. If they can produce 50% of warframe or even 25% of what destiny does i think theyll be successful & wont end up in the mmo graveyard.

So, guess I'll wait and see how bad the mtx is gonna be.
The thing for me is the game is free to play , no matter it will remain free for me until his last breath. Some people are really undisplined with their wallets.
I've got a lot of hours in a multitude of looter shooters and all of them have the problem of content droughts the biggest one is the division franchise the first was as bad as the second but have been playing div since private betas for both games and the devs have dropped the ball multiple times on content and caused droughts in the that content granted im trying to defended nexon but the game has not fully released so we dont really know the content is going to be spaced, so in my opinion the content that was been shown is not a strong argument, when it comes to the material for crafting its like it is in warframe their is a satisfaction to it when you get new parts for the ultimate descendants
@@ReforgeGaming Did you not get to try them out? You should have know this if you played any of the void battles in the betas. Plus in the last beta it let you choose specifically what amorphous material you wanted to use for materials. After playing 3 betas I've seen tons of improvements from feedback.😁

My guess is theyll just take on Warframes monetization: a minor barrier to entry by pushing for you to buy arsenal space and descendants slots for the main content farm while crazy good looking cosmetics to bank off of. Warframe is the biggest grossing f2p in the us, just copy its monetization and theyll fly high as long as content flow will be descent as well. Do Korean style monetization where its most effective which is the Asian markets. Its not difficult to change monetization from the servers being separate as well.
I do agree value players time, but how you gonna balance players who able play a little 2h/day with ppl who can play few hours a day on top of different type of players - thats why booster etc born natural way 😂
Everything can be acquired through gameplay the devs said...the skins OFC is paid but it has free tier skins...materials to craft the ultimate weapons are you sure that you understood the craft...in the first descendant copy paste from warframe....which warframe does not even has ENDGAME...

Why should Warframe be killed? It'd be better if it was just a competitor and not a game ender because Warframe ain't a bad game at all. It's got a solid economy with devs that listen to it's player base
I select what character i want to unlock next and i unlock here in just 1 boss fight. I got enough from that to create her. And every boss when its dead gives you mods drops and new weapons. But after you finish then you get that extra material reward like a bonus. So don’t you worry about that. You will get more then what it sounds like…

It's Nexon.
The loop was very good in the beta. It all comes to their way to monetize on it i guess. I would definitely prefer to have the big boss battles at the end of some dungeon rather than spawn directly there though
if warframe can survive for this many years as a free to play with tons of micros, i’m sure this can. it certainly looks better.
Agreed
@@KillaTundant ???
Honestly i don’t mind if they don’t be too expensive but most things you can get in the game itself by Grinding which is playing also about Self Control .
Damn We really still haven't learnt a thing from the horse armour
I hope the devs sees this video. Good stuff!
I hope it turns out great! Thanks for subscribing and commenting!
Hey lono not really a yt person but I used to hang in twitch chat a lot back in the destiny days before the BS glad to see you’re doing well and I hope this game is a destiny replacement for you
Not really looking for a replacement. Loving variety coverage tbh. Glad to hear from ya!
Its alright it doesnt even have pvp its just pve so why worry about it
They have small world maps.
100% they are gonna let you spend to shortcut
Destiny is pay2play. I don’t think any game will go down that path
@@Maria_Banks All bets are off the table in todays world. It would not surprise me.
All that to say thats not as simple as it seems but the model seems to be tailored on Warframe and Warframe is doing fine ultimately we'll have to test to see if it fits or not
Hmmm how come Warframe is never reference just destiny even this game is super similar to Warframe
I'm not too worried about it. Can't wait for this game
Not worried about the micro transactions I mean it’s a FREE TO PLAY game they have to make money somehow..how else would we get updates and DLC that shh ain’t free for them to make
Warframe can seem to give free dlc as a free to play game
@winglessleo2476 their micro transactions are also crazy characters cost a good little bit and people spend alot of money openly with warframe
@@LamontHughes exactly
@@winglessleo2476 People spend a lot of money in Warframe. DE isn't making new content with no surplus in the budget.
It looks like from playing the betas they're going warframe route which in my opinion is perfectly fine
The only game in this genre that worked was only successful out of sheer passion for the game itself. Which is one of the rarest things in the industry today. If they go into it looking to make a bunch of profit, It is guaranteed to fail out the gate, like all the others have, Including Destiny.
U do realize a game called warframe right just like this game and its been around forever and successful and had time gate stuff
When its a good f2p game where 60 dollars seems fine to spend on it i will invest in it
🙂 This game summarized 🙂--- Enjoy as you do mission after mission after mission not getting anything you are trying to get. 🎉
once human comes out on july 9th and this will be the game!!!
They make it those prices because sadly people are actually buying them.
Its a shame that without the horrendous micro transactions there's actually a good game underneath.
Calm down we don't really know how how far the micro transactions will go yet the game is not out yet this is just speculation for now
He also said to be ready to push back when they step out of line with there micro transactions/greed
@@grimmreapermk2315 bro this is nexon we're dealing with
@ltzeusArcher I have been playing the game and there is no reason to really buy anything if you don't want to unless you are a pay to win
I will give the game a fair chance. For a f2p game im okay spending 10-15$ but if theres a paywall, im out!
Don’t think you know how fun this system can be. Never played Warframe ?
I enjoyed the gameplay loop & the abilities. But again the open world was completely barren.
If they can produce 50% of warframe or even 25% of what destiny does i think theyll be successful & wont end up in the mmo graveyard.
Yah for sure
@@ReforgeGaming here's to hoping they can pull it off. It would be nice to have an alternative & it could maybe give me a chance to run something with you. Those nova bake days were s tier dude.
Late but great video 👍🏽loving the game so far hope they don’t botch it🙏🏽
Same here
GIMMIE the numbers on the screen always!
I hope this game is good. I’ll never forget Anthem…
I am a Senior dev and one of the few people to Sue Nexxon back in 2009 but not point ...so the fact that I am looking forward to playing this title and have played a alpha and 3 betas and will happily bu a battle pass. its has plenty of fun pve for you and your 4 player party grab friends and little to no toxicity oddly no pvp hum...and they listened and made changes in all 3 betas so they at least listening atm... so ya I good.
Honestly I was looking for a Destiny 2 - ANTHEM feel to scratch a particular itch, but I kinda pumped the brakes after seeing a hamster running on a wheel back accessory. Plus, I'm already not going to really have time as I'm busy with Deep Rock's Season 5, FF14's new expansion drops next week and STALKER 2 drops in Sept. So, guess I'll wait and see how bad the mtx is gonna be.
The thing for me is the game is free to play , no matter it will remain free for me until his last breath. Some people are really undisplined with their wallets.
it reminds me of anthem. this might actually make me take a break from destiny
definitely see the anthem vibes
I love when titles say if you should play this game it’s freeeee why not 😂
Warframe gives nothing BUT resources and schematics, and it is still around and extremely relevant for years. Just an FYI..
Mind numbingly boring is how I would express my experience with this game's beta
ok but does it have Jiggle Physics? 🤔
I've got a lot of hours in a multitude of looter shooters and all of them have the problem of content droughts the biggest one is the division franchise the first was as bad as the second but have been playing div since private betas for both games and the devs have dropped the ball multiple times on content and caused droughts in the that content granted im trying to defended nexon but the game has not fully released so we dont really know the content is going to be spaced, so in my opinion the content that was been shown is not a strong argument, when it comes to the material for crafting its like it is in warframe their is a satisfaction to it when you get new parts for the ultimate descendants
great video mate🙂
Thanks 👍
Void bosses drop tons of purple loot. Some set items and high end mods as well. They are worth running!
The dev video made it sound like it was just resources for research.
@@ReforgeGaming Did you not get to try them out? You should have know this if you played any of the void battles in the betas. Plus in the last beta it let you choose specifically what amorphous material you wanted to use for materials. You interact with a device after the battle is done for that reward and the other loot falls in a circle around where the boss is defeated. After playing 3 betas I've seen tons of improvements from feedback.😁
After playing it i enjoy some aspects but i can really see this falling and really going into transactions and the bosses with a bad team is unbeatable with Regenerating hp
Destiny is a well thought game. From aiming and balancing, nerfing and buffing. Weapons feel.
I have to strongly disagree. They don't know what they want. They release weapons, nerf them, buff them qnd change it back again and renerf the exact same thing
@@DanteDX12 yeah. Well all mmo are like that. But to what he said was true. The gameplay and feels of the game is awesome. Way better than outrider and anthem. Helldivers2 has difficulty balancing their game.
@OTAKUJHE if you're talking about The First Descendant then I absolutely agree. It feels amazing and I'm hype for it. I was only saying that Bungiee is terrible at balancing weapons
Knowing Nexon there'll be p2w wall at some point. I have played some of their earlier games. Most notably V4.
Wishing for a desendant 2
My concern is how to play and hold him by playing.😂😂😂😂
Love this game and looking forward to it
Very good analysis
Research means unlock as far as i've seen.
yes, and it is time gated, you have to wait
Just like warframe
So, 16 minute video explaining that instead of loot you will get currency in end game?
And that currency is funneled through a time gate which can be squeezed to push microtransactions.
Gameplay, shooting, color palette, world, etc looks like Anthem to me...was this the anthem next that got axed?
My guess is theyll just take on Warframes monetization: a minor barrier to entry by pushing for you to buy arsenal space and descendants slots for the main content farm while crazy good looking cosmetics to bank off of. Warframe is the biggest grossing f2p in the us, just copy its monetization and theyll fly high as long as content flow will be descent as well. Do Korean style monetization where its most effective which is the Asian markets. Its not difficult to change monetization from the servers being separate as well.
I called this on the Beta test lmao. It was so clear it was going to be P2W / heavily MTXd
do you think i am right in my final conclusion tho?
Pay to win, or pay to acquire faster? Big difference.
Theyre copying warframe as long as they copy tge monetization model theyll be fine
cant wait to play this again but if it becomes a time gated bore fest its easy to uninstall especially since this year has many releases coming out
I do agree value players time, but how you gonna balance players who able play a little 2h/day with ppl who can play few hours a day on top of different type of players - thats why booster etc born natural way 😂
Great video
Glad you enjoyed it
I downloaded this game b4 I knew who Nexon was. After finding out, I almost wanna uninstall the game. One wrong move and I'm out for sure.
Why does this feel like overwatch
Everything can be acquired through gameplay the devs said...the skins OFC is paid but it has free tier skins...materials to craft the ultimate weapons are you sure that you understood the craft...in the first descendant copy paste from warframe....which warframe does not even has ENDGAME...
of course u can, but they can slow it down and put a price on a shortcut
@@ReforgeGaming Well..Many other warframe like games have that kinda BM. How could they maintain their bussiness when nobody pays for the game?
So Time or Money (ofc with reasonable price). The choice is yours.
Let's just hope they are not too greedy on their BM.
Have you seen marvel rivals free game beta out there
11:45 have you never played Warframe?
Long ago very brief. Not my thing really - all that grinding. I was a Destiny streamer back in that time too so...
I personally can't stand the voices and characters they created for it. lol
that kind of stuff matters more to me in story games, but i get it
but Bunny has the boom lmao
i aight gonna lie TFD Can be Great as long as the bunny butt post don't over shadow the productive ones...... i ain't hating on booty never... but I want it to last years
Destiny gameplay and gunplay is not good at all when you compare it to the amount of money needed to play the game so stop capping. Yea yea "destiny is f2p" but it's honestly not. I have my worries about first descendant but everything in this is speculation and pointless until the game comes out and we see for ourselves. Hell warframe can be p2w... you can buy frames and weapons. In terms of generosity, have you played black desert ? Literally no generosity at all yet the player base is always there. If "bold with content" means £40~ £60 per dlc for 4 hours content like destiny then yea I dont want it at all. You get loot from the interceptions bro cmon now.... have you played the beta or played at all ? Though the only thing I agree with is the worry for microtransactions, it is a valid worry. Overall a bad take icl
i really hope that this is the warframe killer we need
Lmao this shit is NOT killing Warframe 😂
Why should Warframe be killed? It'd be better if it was just a competitor and not a game ender because Warframe ain't a bad game at all. It's got a solid economy with devs that listen to it's player base
@@MagikarpMan not even close🤣🤣
Im always iffy when it comes to nexon games you just never know till you try
I select what character i want to unlock next and i unlock here in just 1 boss fight. I got enough from that to create her. And every boss when its dead gives you mods drops and new weapons. But after you finish then you get that extra material reward like a bonus. So don’t you worry about that. You will get more then what it sounds like…
