Expanding salmon research and habitat restoration on Vancouver Island

PSF is excited to launch a new multi-year Pacific herring project with support from the B.C. Salmon Restoration and Innovation Fund. In partnership with First Nations and the University of Victoria, we will investigate how salmon and herring interact with each other to understand the vital role herring play in our marine food web.
PSF is proud to provide funding to organizations like Peninsula Streams Society who are restoring salmon habitat in the Victoria region. This important community work is made possible through our Community Salmon Program. The majority of these funds are generated through sales of the Recreational Fisheries Conservation Stamp, commonly known as the Salmon Stamp, by Fisheries and Oceans Canada.
