    To add insult to injury, extended sideward flight is usually not a good idea given the proximity of the helicopter to the surface. In the event of an ending failure, it would be far safer and more prudent to be hovering directly in the desired direction so that heading control and a minimum of maneuvering at a critical point is achieved. Nice helicopter to be sure, but the overall picture of safe flying practices fall short of the ideal set of circumstances.

    • @pmc1665477
      @pmc1665477 9 лет назад

      Helicopters of this size don't have air conditioning so while you sit on the ground you keep them open to keep a breeze going.

    E molto istruttivo e riflettere molto ma si sa' che per essere piloti di ala rotante bisogna macinare ore di volo assagiando tutti gli effetti meteo e qello che' ti fa' fare le ossa io al momento conto 2782.36 ore con 13050 decolli e volato sempre anche con vento 66 nodi .

    • @manos3790
      @manos3790 8 лет назад

      stewart baker times that by 400 hrs and you'll find it's almost twice the cost of the Boatpix outfit in Florida.

    • @notar187
      @notar187 8 лет назад

      No kidding not worth it

    • @manos3790
      @manos3790 8 лет назад

      ***** Wow! I'm dumbfounded that you consider R22's as junk? Aren't they the world's best selling copter? I've spent 2-3 hrs in an R44 (my 1st and only time in a 'copter) and was reasonably impressed with it, barr the noise, of course. Aesthetically this GG is more pleasing on the eye, than an R22.

    • @notar187
      @notar187 8 лет назад

      ***** Thought it came out for training operation cost would be less I guess not they want like 400 an Hour

  • @notar1
    @notar1 9 лет назад

    What's U.S. Rental price of these to rent hourly?

    • @manos3790
      @manos3790 8 лет назад

      £350 per/hr or $600 or almost 3x the cost of a Cesna 152/172 per hour.

    • @notar187
      @notar187 8 лет назад

      +manos3790 wow ,I thought they would came up with something less to incourage flying, affordable training .I guess not use to fly Schweizer

    • @manos3790
      @manos3790 8 лет назад

      stewart baker helicopters, by nature of design are incredibly expensive to run. My brother and I had a 2,hr ride in a R44 from Knuckle reef to Mackay in Australia in Oct 2007, this was before the Australian boom, so the exchange rate was one GB £ equalled 2.64 Aussie dollars. The combined cost for us was approx $1700 or £360 each, not bad at the time, but now you'd definitely double that cost. I've scoured the internet and unbelievably Florida has the cheapest helicopter lesson in the world, particularly the company that combines 'Boat Liz's. 400 hrs of tuition for approx £44,000. Most flight schools only offer upwards of 115 hrs for £18,000-20,000......who's going to employ a pilot with 115 hrs? Exactly!

    • @notar187
      @notar187 8 лет назад

      +manos3790 I started helicopter in 97 after private fix-wing, it was $160 U.S. an hour ,now it is like around 400 ,I back to flying fixwing only 100

    • @manos3790
      @manos3790 8 лет назад

      +stewart baker I had a fixed-wing hr introductory Cesna 172 out of Hialaiya (misspelled?) nr Miami in March '11 for $95. I never realized, it's easier getting a small aircraft airborne, than it is to pull away in a car for the 1st time with out stalling.
      But, I'd assume landing a plane for the 1st time is a lot more difficult, than bringing a car to a halt, for the first time.
