We are coming to Maui in September and I love that you are sharing this. We always went to Costco And Walmart nice to know other grocery stores are there too. Some of the prices are similar or close to it and others are more. Thanks for doing this appreciate it

We are here now. Did the Road to Hana yesterday. Stopped for banana bread at Aunt Sandy’s and the property across the street is for sale. I sure wish I had 1.5 million so I could sell kettle corn, homemade ice cream, Italian ice and fresh squeezed lemonades and limeades there! I need to move my business to Maui!

Update...omg I'm in Jax, FL and it's NOT that much more than here...honestly only about 20-30% more there....but remember, salaries here is about 60% of what I used to make in SF Bay area. Thanks Eric!!

One thing I was thinking about, as you were talking about comparing prices with the mainland is the sales tax that our wonderful, benevolent govt overlords impose upon us. Here in Kalifornia (the Bay Area) the tax markup is 10.25%. I don't recall how much Maui's sales tax is on groceries, but it can't top our level of confiscation here.
Anyway, just planting a seed for those able to move to Hawaii from places like Kali.....our prices are similar for many items, but the tax takes a much bigger bite out of our savings.
