If everything goes up by even a dime each week without end -within 10 weeks time each product we buy will cost another dollar. It won’t take too long before it all becomes completely unaffordable for most people.

I buy Sams 25 lb bag of bread flour, best deal around and makes fabulous bread/rolls. Its easy to make guys for pennies a loaf.
Add 2 1/4 tsps instant yeast and one cup warm water (under 100*) let stand 10 mins to bubble up. Add 3 tbls of oil, sugar and 1 1/2 tsp salt, mix in 3 cups of flour, knead in bowl for 5 mins if sticky add another tbls of flour, if dry warm water ...make a ball, place in a greased bowl, cover bowl and set on stove to rise for 2 hrs. Punch down, use flour if needed to knead another cpl mins, place in greased bread pan, shape to the pan, cover and let rise 45 mins or so, bake at 350* for 30 mins.
On rolls when you punch down just divide into 12 pieces and roll a ball then place in a greased pan to rise.
One bag makes approx 22 loaves.

I use to work for Walmart a decade ago… they even more shady now after 2020/Covid than before. They know they can blame inflation and lie about people not wanting to work, and people will buy those toed lines and not blame them for jacking up the prices to break the economy. If you have money to give the higher ups major bonuses… you have money to hire people

When we went to Ft Lauderdale on vacation we saw the yachts of the Walmart family… just to fill up that ugly boat, it costs $1 million dollars. All paid with our hard earned dollars that they get by guilting us into paying more for basic items. I even read that Walmart tried to justify their insane price increases by claiming that’s it our own fault because we don’t spend enough on whimsical luxury goods such as TVs, large electronics, etc.

Former U.S. Labor Secretary Robert Reich came out swinging against retail giant Walmart on Saturday, accusing the company of gouging customers and helping to drive inflation.
The celebrity economist said in a Tweet that the mass merchandiser spiked prices on its private label brand, Great Value, and nearly doubled its net income to $10.5 billion near the end of 2023. That enabled the company to send $5.9 billion in buybacks and dividends to shareholders, Reich said in the Tweet.
“When I say price gouging is driving inflation, this is what I mean,” he said on X (formerly Twitter).

Sometimes it's best to just stay out of stores. I'm trying to cut back. Today, I made pasta putinesca. I used to make spaghetti with sausage, onions, bell peppers, and mushrooms. Now, it's diced tomatoes, onion powder, Italian herbs, salt, and today I added a tiny bit of spinach that needed to be used.
I have canned vegetables I paid 50 cents a can for. I'm going to use those completely up before paying 82 cents.
I think if we all cut back and cleaned out our pantry and freezer.... grocery prices would drop!

I don’t shop at Walmart I shop at the same grocery store and no longer buy name brands. I don’t know how people with kids can afford groceries. I am a senior citizen and can only afford to eat one meal a day and some times my Grandson buys me food. Good info! EKY noticeably low on pasta - got the last box of three cheese shells. We are in canning country - sugar is there but lower stock than usual. No canned kale on the shelves - been that way for months. Good deals on “fancy” cheeses as well as “standard” block cheese. Beans and rice (dry goods) low stock.

Hello Danno. I went to Walmart Supercenter yesterday (on a Friday) it was around 6:00-6:30pm. And the store was quite, wasn't alot of people there. I told the cashier, you guys are not busy for a Friday. She said yeah, it's suprising. This is Lewis Center, Ohio.

Some of the Gluten Free Progresso soup isn't boldly labeled, but the cream of mushroom is GF & perfect for recipes, green beans etc. So for those allergies, check Progresso regular cans, some have GF in fine print on the side.

when i use to work at the store i got into a habit of comparing the store/generic brand to a name brand and quite often the only difference was the cheaper one didn't contain preservatives, so it didn't last as long on the shelf. Sometimes it was totally different ingrediants but i was amazed how many did just lacked preservatives.

@@steveherr450 There was a prepping channel I watched a few months ago where the gentleman opened a can of each of the canned meat brands products and compared them by how they looked, tasted, and if the contents were true to the stated weight. It was helpful to me to see the video of what they looked like without having to buy them all myself.

Seasoning is definitely something to keep a good stock of. Even a simple house seasoning of 2 parts salt, 1 part black pepper, and 1 part garlic powder can take meat or veggies from bland to amazing. If you store it right, it lasts for years.

Our Walmart is absolutely filthy. The refrigerated unit's doors look like people have actually thrown up on them.🤢 They smell so bad. I have issues with the odor of the store. The meat cases smell like they have expired meat. I have turned it in constantly but nothing is done.
We drive over 200 miles to several small towns local grocery stores to get product. They're clean and I'm more at ease with purchasing.

Don't forget, you can get frozen corn, as well as regular veggies, (bell peppers, tomatoes-dice them up after peeling them, green beans, jalapeno peppers, onions, etc.) and dehydrate them. Store them inside mason jars. I use them *all* the time. I've done from frozen but I really enjoy doing it from fresh produce. That's another way I've saved money.

Previously I shopped at Fry’s (Kroger) and Sprouts. Fry’s pricing was very reasonable. Then I moved to a small tourist town where I just have Walmart and a bunch of regional grocery stores. I buy, as much as possible, organic and gluten free. Walmart’s pricing for those items is waaay better than the regional grocery stores, often by $1-$2 an item. Never any issues with lack of stock either. The Aldi in my area is new, and moved into a pre-existing building, and is quite small with limited inventory. I only went once.

I usually do my grocery shopping at Aldi, even there too i noticed a lot of bare spaces on the shelves. Here you talked about 1# bags/boxes of pasta vs. 2# bags. They never have the cheaper products on display, forcing you to buy the pricier one. Not me. Walk away. I've noticed with Bushes baked beans almost like buying soup. So much water. 🙏❤😡

    Greetings from North Carolina!
I was just compiling my next Walmart delivery order while watching your Saturday video. You have got us beat on your egg prices, especially on the 60 ct. ours are $12.03 . No bargain for us. Most everything else was the same price. Glad to see you compare something other than “junk” food.
Basic food necessitates far outweigh non-nutritional.
I’ll sit down and pull up Aldi and Walmart apps and start comparing the two. Sometimes Aldi has the better prices on what’s on my shopping list. Next time it could be Walmart. Actually these two stores are across the street from each other so it’s no inconvenience to shop both stores in one day.
Aldi had sugar $0.50 cheaper (4lb bag), canned corn beef (12oz)was also $.50 cheaper. I make my own hash by adding a couple of fresh potatoes and it still comes out cheaper than canned hash. Homemade is always better.
Thank you for the heads up on the reductions you found. Oh! In their bakery dept, French and Italian bread has gone down from $1.49 back to a $1.00 a loaf. Also, great value 2 liter bottles of soda have gone down from $1.48 to $1.00.
    Enjoy your evening!
🫵 on to my next adventure.
