    The levels/layers of offense are bits that I think most people struggle to apply as they learn the things their character can do in any fighting game, and you explained those perfectly. Props on that. I do think it's worth having a follow-up on mixups beyond strike-throw (i.e. overhead/low/crossup), though I also understand that strike-throw is far more integral to SF6, so it's not like much was missed out, especially given the existence of parry. Overall, well done, looking forward to more.

    I think your neutral video is an absolute masterpiece and this is not far behind, but I do feel like some concepts could've been expanded on. I do think you are doing an amazing service to the FGC and any newcommers with these vids but I do want to give some feedback and if you're still reading comments I'd be interested in your response.
    - I feel like blockstrings as a whole should've had a segment. Just explaining the strength of hitting on block, depleting drive gauge, burning your opponent out and chip damage. Since most games you do lose something for blocking, it has good carryover from game to game so expanding on true blockstrings, frametraps and using frametraps to slide in fake strings and the mindgames around block pressure would've been something I wanted included.
    - I think other forms of mixups should've been included since while infrequent the game does have these options to open people up. It's also a decent segue to explain how parry fits into this since outside strike throw every other mixup is covered by parry explaining the unique effectiveness of strike/throw in the game.
    - I think mentioning delay teching as something that covers strike/throw 50/50 and introducing the need to bait and shimmy is something I really wanted included at least when you went into the layers.
    I do think you've done an amazing job these are just some things I feel could've made the video feel more comprehensive and I'm interested in your take on these. On a sidenote I love the fact that you used Kens target combo into run to explain combo routings I'm writing a script to make a couple short guides on the game and it's the exact same way I covered it too, it's such a great example.

    • @fararjeh
      @fararjeh  3 месяца назад

      I’m glad you enjoyed the video brother 🙏 in regards to your notes:
      So I cover the importance of hitting your opponent on block a little in my neutral video, and here I talk about jab strings and meaties. A whole segment would’ve been useful, however the demographic for these videos is intermediate to advanced, and so when I say “meaty” I just trust the viewer understands what they can do there. And simply talking about the mind games behind fake strings and etcetera would’ve been off topic; and the video would be much longer if I wanted to do tht topic justice
      Similar to the previous point, I simply say “meaty” and trust that the blanka (for example) player knows he can set up his doll into his mixups. Talking about parry would not have fit this video, parry is a defensive mechanic, and part of what makes these videos compact is that I stick to the fundamentals of the topic
      Same point with delay teching. It’s a video about offence, and delay teaching and parry are defensive techniques which will be in the defence video I’m currently working on.
      Thank you for the notes man, hope I cleared that up a lil lmao

    • @fararjeh
      @fararjeh  3 месяца назад +2

      A delay button is an oki option performed by pressing a button with small delay, it’s effective in catching your opponent delay teching, furthermore it can be effective as the slight delay might make your opponent panic and press a button, which will then get caught by your delay button

    i dont think you necessarily have to start with "level 1" being strikes. there are alot of players i have faced recently who will bust out an invincible reversal the first time they are knocked down. so i usually shimmy on the first knockdown since that protects me against invincible reversals. its important to shut those down early because if your opponent keeps landing them they will keep doing them. some people are crazy enough to invincible reversal every time they are knocked down and that really shuts down your momentum unless you punish it
    i think the reason people will invincible reversal on the first knockdown situation is because they have seen it before. like when you see a ken dash up after his combo you already know to expect a strike or a throw. all of the kens throughout history have already established the strike throw mixup from that combo. even if one particular ken player hasnt done it to me yet. i know it exists and what to expect

    • @fararjeh
      @fararjeh  4 месяца назад

      While I agree starting at level 1 won’t always net you the win due to players like that, imo on average it’ll probably net you the best chance of being successful, until you reach a much higher level ofc

    You go for meaties because you want to stuff someone's defense into blocking or reversals or simply to force them to make an uncomfortable guess.
    I go for meaties because I'm bad and having the extra frames makes it easier for me to link my combo.
    We are not the same.

    Try using games other than what's flavor of the month when you're doing topics like this, because it makes the video applicable to more games, and makes it more evergreen. Getting footage shouldn't be hard, rite?
