West Spanish Forest - 5 Day Canoe Trip. Wayne and Brad spend 5 days exploring new paddling routes through this little known area west of the Spanish River in NW Ontario.
Hey brother....at 2:46 you got a nice clean map loop posted....how can i get that map loop as an image ? Got a link ? Thanks in advance...safe travels.
We had plenty of gear with us, but over the years we've just learned to take light-weight equipment and pack efficiently. Other than our camera gear (pelican cases) we tend to take just 2 containers. One is a 100 litre canoe pack that holds two sleeping bags and pads, a 3-man tent, a tarp, all our clothing, rain gear, stove and fuel and extra shoes. The other container is a 30 litre food barrel that holds our pots, pans, plates, utensils and enough light-weight food for a 7 day trip. This set up allows us to do all our portages on a single carry.
Well done guys. This does seem to be a very remote route. Did you catch any fish species other than smallmouth?
Brad its great to see you & your dad together on these trips great memories for sure. Thanks 👍🇨🇦
Yes, It's always a great adventure when we can head off together on a great canoe trip!
very enjoyable video! The moose catching a drink was a big plus. Looking forward to your next adventure.
Great video & a beautiful area.

Good trip lots of challenges. Makes the scenery & camps more enjoyable. Brian nearing 76
Few years back you used to be able to catch speckled trout at the bottom of the dam at sinaminda
Wow, I love speckled trout. We certainly caught a lot of bass just below that dam...maybe it depends what time of year you are there.
Nice video and thanks for sharing. Good thing for bug nets, looked like a ton of mosquitoes up there.
Awesome trip! Brad is a great Sherpa.
Yes, Brad is young and strong. He can carry a lot of gear!
I love how you guys are always seeking the path less travelled! I'd never heard of this area before.
Thanks for documenting and sharing.
Great video guys. Loved the commentary on the fun and challenges of the trip. Perhaps we'll run into you out there in 2016.
Looked like a proper trip! Little more water would have been nice haha!
Nice video!

What model is your novacraft canoe?
That canoe is a Nova Craft sixteen foot Prospector, built out of TuffStuff.
