Ms. Donna, my momma made it like you, she was raised in New Orleans. The only difference was instead of regular milk, she used evaporated milk. The reason is because she was brought up during the depression and a young woman during WWII. Not much refrigeration in the 20's, 30's, and 40's, everyone had ice boxes and the ice man would bring a block. They never put eggs in mac and cheese. In those days people raised chickens just for the eggs. My mother was born in 1926, she is long gone since 2006. Her mother died in 1929, so she learned from her cajun aunt from Houma and her aunt from Natchez, Mississppi. I am 61 and I still cook like the previous generations.
You refer to your momma a lot at Thanksgiving because of the fond memories you had with her. Mommas are the heart of the family and when we lose our momma she takes a piece of your heart with her. Still so much to be grateful for but I sure miss my momma.
I've made mac and cheese for years but never like this. I'm making this way now for sure. When you took it out of the oven I almost ate my phone. I love to watch every video. Thank you for sharing, you are awesome!
Good morning Mrs. D! I am still watching your videos and so enjoying them. 🤗🤗 You are a delight and I love your cooking style. So similar to what I am used to and the way I was taught by my grandmother and aunties. You are absolutely correct about that CHEESE…yes, grate it yourself! It’s so much better! If you want it right, do it right! Blessings to you and yours!🙏🏽🙏🏽🤗🤗
Miss Donna, I just stumbled across your Thanksgiving videos. I love your videos!!! My Mom has gone home to be with The Lord and I miss her Thanksgiving cooking. I’m 65 and my kids don’t get together like we used to and my memories of my Mom grow each year at Thanksgiving and Christmas. Her birthday was on Christmas.😊 Thank you for all your videos. Almost all of your recipes are the way I learned from my Mom, since we live in the south we always add that extra flavor to our recipes like you do. My Mom had a lot of German in her ancestry. She would make her classic German Potato Salad, served hot.🙏🏻
Mrs. Donna, you shole right 'bout, you can't be rushin any kinda recipes in the kitchen. Anything I rush does not turn out right! Take your time people, your mouth, tongue, taste buds, and tummy will thank you for it!
Miss Donna you are so right about "doing too much" - some of the chefs on you-tube make the dishes "complicated" with all of the ingredients! Thanks for keeping it "simple" and delicious in the end❤😊👏👏 We so appreciate you my dear.
Ms. Donna. The first video I watched of yours was the chicken spaghetti … I was impressed by you and your husband together. I love how you do your videos, your goodness, kindness and humor is wonderful. I watched another video of a woman .. I couldn’t even finish it. Keep up your sweetness, tell your husband he’s a rock star like you. Blessed cooking in your home. ❤❤❤❤
I have to say, when Mrs Donna references her mama in all these recipes, you know its gonna be a good meal! Our family tradition is the women get passed down the TOP SECRET sacred family recipe Book on their wedding day, along with a hand carved cutting board made by our grandpa. the wives of the sons who join our family always thought this was so sweet. I tried peaking at my older sisters book once, and my grandma had my behind. Anyhow, Mrs. Donna, you are really fun to watch....and I have to agree about all the Grandmas down south whipping up amazing suppers. I'm still unmarried and in school, so RUclips videos are my best option if I want to eat good 👍
Considering those with high blood pressure, to not use too much salt, I use garlic & onion powder with olive oil in the pasta water..gives really good flavor to the noodles..
Ooooo! Donna. This is the best Mac & cheese I have Eva made. It is soooooo good. It was quick and easy and it didn’t take long. It looked so good I couldn’t resist the taste test. You really got it going on. THUMBS UP.

I just think you are special lady! Thank you for sharing your family recipes. My Mac and cheese came out so tasty. I added the Italian seasoning. Yummy! I will keep watching as long as you keep sharing. I never hear doohickey anymore. Love it! 💜
@@BeautifulTooCreationsWithDonna okay your videos make me smile every time. I want to say thank you. Also can you if possible show me how to make beef stew, I miss it since I left the country.

Thank you!! This looks exactly how my nana would make it! The ziti, the layering, the milk, no eggs!! For years I could not remember how she'd do it. Can't wait to make this!
This is a good way to make Mac & Cheese especially the Italian seasoning & the real butter. I see the milk & how creamy it is. U will be trying this recipe method. Thanks for sharing God bless you.
Donna, this looks very similar to how my mom taught me. I like to use Colby cheese but basically it's the same. I agree with you, sometimes simplicity is so much better. Rough, milk, cheese, pasta, pepper WE ARE GOOD! :)

Thank you so much Mrs. Donna for sharing this recipe with us! Ever since I saw this, I have used the same method when I make macaroni and cheese and my family loves it! The whole pan is done within a day or two. LOL! This recipe was so simple and easy to make. Again, thank you for your channel and allowing us into your home for these simple and affordable dishes that you prepare. I plan on using more of your recipes.
You are the first home cook to make this like my mom taught me…layers of cheddar and just enough milk that when you tilt the pan it shows. It’s the best way to make Mac and cheese and I’ve been making it for over 50 years. Though the cheese is getting pretty expensive now, it’s so worth the expense and effort. I like the idea of the Italian seasoning, may try that next time. Thankyou so much for your videos, I enjoy watching them and learning! 😍
Thanks Donna for sharing your recipe for Macaroni and Cheese; it looks absolutely delicious. I have never used the Mozzarella Cheese; I am assuming the Mozzarella Cheese makes it more creamier, I will have to try it the next time I make it. Here is a tip from my dad as he loved to get in the kitchen and cook breakfast; especially the next morning after we had Macaroni and Cheese for dinner the evening before. He would take enough of the Macaroni and Cheese that was left over and add it to a hot cast iron skillet that he had melt butter in it and then he would fry the Macaroni and Cheese in this hot skillet until the cheese was evenly blended with the macaroni which our family loved and enjoyed my dad cooking Sunday breakfast which was a treat. Also; if we had Baked Ham with the Macaroni and Cheese the night before; he would add chunks of Ham and fry it with the Macaroni and Cheese in the hot cast iron skillet which was a delicious tasting breakfast as well. Even today; I fry up the Macaroni and Cheese for breakfast which my husband loves as he has never had leftover macaroni and cheese fried in a skillet until he met me. I think it is a northern thing since I was born and raised in Pennsylvania. Plus; when I visited with my uncle, my dad's younger brother, he would do the same with leftover macaroni and cheese. So; I think it is a family tradition.
Miss Donna this is my 2nd time watching you. I've been trying to find good recipes for baked Mac and cheese for a while and I'm going to try this one out for Thanksgiving this year! This is very simple and I love it. I have also used half and half when I've run out of milk before. I love simple country cooking; and I always take my time, singing and praying in the kitchen. Lol! Thank you for sharing Donna. I love your personality and energy.
I watch this video like 5 times and finally decided to try it out. Afterwards I’m so mad that I took so dang long. Your mac n cheese is the closest I’ve cooked and tasted to my childhood Mac n cheese. Just thought me that sometimes it’s just simple recipes that makes it taste like home.
I have been wanting the secrets to "GOOD" macaroni and cheese for ages, and this is exactly what I was looking for!!!! Thank you so much for this, and I have subscribed to your channel because I know there's more good food coming.
You are delightful and happy to be with you in this time of year! I am deadly allergic to eggs so finding recipes for holiday dishes is something of a mission for me! Eggs will actually cause me to have major temper tantrums and I suffer emotional distress of the first order causing everyone misery! So i like you I think eggs are amazing foods and yet they can cause very serious allergic responses! So nice to meet you!
It's winter here in Australia and having lived many years in California I miss thanksgiving. . Im going to do your thanksgiving recepies this week. Brighten my spirit. I' also need to check your other videos for everyday meals
You are such a pleasure to watch and you and your husband are so funny together. Love the recipes and dishes. You cook so similar to my mother and myself. I lost my mother in July and I'm afraid the holidays will never be the same. God bless you and your husband and family 🙏💜
Hi. I am a 65 year old white lady from South Africa. I am an excellent cook and stumbled upon your video making the steak and gravy. I just love the way you represent yourself. The way we both cook with love. I subscribed straight away, because sharing recipes I love to do. The only problem I had with your mac and cheese is us in South Africa cannot afford cheese and butter, but I love your recipe. I was guilty of using eggs. Keep up your great cooking show.
My one recommendation would be to leave the oil out of the water when you boil your pasta because the cheese has a tougher time adhering to the pasta.but boy does it look amazing! I also don’t put eggs or roux either.👍
Love your personality, sense of humor and cooking style. I'm from SC and can appreciate your southern accent! I have a stand mixer with a grating/shredder attachment. I have to grate SO much cheese when I make Mac and Cheese!
I am sick right now... But Thanksgiving is in a couple of weeks. Thank you your wisdom & entertaining! I'll be making this for the family soon.... btw... I been cooking for years & I don't measure either... When you feed everyone enough years... You learn what works!
I've always done Macaroni and Cheese with the sauce and sometimes with eggs. Never tried it layered with just milk and cheese. So you know I'm gonna try this next. Thank you Donna!!
My dad just got me that red shredder machine thingy about 3 weeks ago!!😂😂😂 I love it! And you’re right about keeping things SIMPLE. People be doing too much to basic dishes and it comes out a completely different dish and taste.😩
Thank you Ms. Donna, I’m one of those that didn’t keep it simple this Thanksgiving, and I wasn’t pleased with the outcome. I appreciate you saying that!! I will certainly keep it simple next time!! Love your recipe ❤

I have been wanting the secrets to "GOOD" macaroni and cheese for ages, and this is exactly what I was looking for!!!! Thank you so much for this, and I have subscribed to your channel because I know there's more good food coming.
The roast falls apart honey. Yum. 😋
Happy Thanksgiving 2022 Ms Donna and Family. I did this recipe again and my Mac N cheese turned out Delicious. Thank you so much for this video 💜
Ms. Donna yes I like your style simple and just as good.
This is definitely going to be on my Christmas list to bake the macaroni cheese just the way you did it fantastic job thank you.
Your excitement reminds me of how my niece acts just like you I love it!
Awwww thank you so much!!!😊
That looked so good I'm gonna try it for Thanksgiving!
Yummy! My grandkids love macaroni and cheese. I will try it.
My DEEPEST CONDOLENCES you & your family. The Holidays are rough without them but They are here with US in SPIRIT.
I accidentally came across your video and fell in love with it. I have been look at them ever since.
I’ve been trying to figure out who you sound and look like!! It just hit me! Girl! You look and sound like S. Epatha Merkerson!!
Love this AND watching you cook!! May God Bless! Thank you!💜💜
Thank god am one of the old timer. I cook like my mom’s back in the 50th. Everything now is fast food.
My one recommendation would be to leave the oil out of the water when you boil your pasta because the cheese has a tougher time adhering to the pasta.but boy does it look amazing! I also don’t put eggs or roux either.👍
It looks so good
I LOVE YOUR
RECIPE.GONNA

YOU ARE SO
FUNNY.....
I make mine w/o eggs, rue, sour cream all that! Looks amazing and so close to mine. Keep it simple. I LOVE THAT
Love your personality, sense of humor and cooking style.
I'm from SC and can appreciate your southern accent!
I have a stand mixer with a grating/shredder attachment.
I have to grate SO much cheese when I make Mac and Cheese!
I can tell that her mom was a wonderful lady based on how wonderful she is😍😊😊😊
I put my cheese in the freezer too. I wrap each piece in saran wrap so they don't stick.

Hope you enjoy it if you do! You're welcome Lorna!

I just love watching u. Looks so good. U had a great life growing up. And being in the kitchen w r mom.
Looks so delicious 🤤. I can’t wait to make it. Thanks for sharing 😊
Crochet done beautifully.
Roast Beef looks scrumpdellicous, I cook Beef Ribs on the grill every Thanksgiving along with Turkey and Ham because my daughter doesn't like Turkey.
