That’s sad. I do know when I was a child I had a good time with my mother cooking and making crafts. She was a Girl Scout leader and a Boy Scout leader. She loved doing all of those things. I remember her showing me how to bake and cook several things and I assumed all mothers did those things. I didn’t learn 7 til I was older that there were moms that were not good moms. It made me appreciate her even more. My dad was a scary grouch and I assumed most dads were that way too and didn’t realize that their were nice dads until I started going to friends houses. I was so glad that my mother seemed to make up for where my dad was lacking. I feel sad for kids that have mean or bad mothers or dads. It’s just so important to be good to our kids and teach them to cook. Blessings to you.

I'm a 61 year withe old male. Disabled and forced into retirement because of my element when I was 50. I know I don't need to say that but I will just to clarify.
I love to watch my mom cook and I wanted to learn how. So when I was 6 she taught me how to make macaroni and cheese. It was my favorite thing I liked. Being a 6 yr old little boy. And I loved cooking so I learned how over the year's.
I must say black man have it great when it comes to good home cooking because black women love to cook and loved their food to taste great. But now your white wives they just throw it together and don't give a dang would it taste like. So if you want great tasting food most men learn to cook cause they're about the way food tastes.
You and your husband looks like a beautiful family and I will tell you right now I have subscribed to your channel because I love a woman who cooks without no one measurements And that's how I like to learn. God-bless your family may his grace be upon you

Donna, you are just the sweetest lady, truly. I stumbled on this video and I can't wait to walk my son through making this (& have him watch it too, of course). His cubed steak is always like chewin' leather, for goodness sake. Now maybe he'll be able to make some worthy of eatin', lol. Along with them tender steaks, I would LOVE some of that gravy over some homemade mashed taters, along with some green beans & cornbread!! Thank you sooo much for taking the time to share your recipes with us...I DO know how much work goes into making these videos so again, thank you. Now I'm gonna go peak at your other recipes. Looks like baked roast beef is next...mmmm...can't wait. Bye bye!!

Oh my, that looks sooo good. I’m 74 yrs old & nothing tastes as good as it used to. My mother would send me to get 5 lbs of hamburger for $1.00 & those were the best. Yes, it can be tricky to make! And I totally forgot about using broth because my mom never used it when she made homemade gravy, but that would've been delicious too! Using cast iron is THE BOMB!!!
I’m 70 years young & grew up in Texas where my grandmother taught me to ALWAYS use cast iron...
She said to use either a stainless slotted spoon or a metal whisk when cooking in cast iron because the benefits of iron being infused into the food is a healthy way to make sure our bodies absorb “iron” naturally...
I cannot wait to prepare this recipe.
Gonna serve it with mashed potatoes & collards & fried squash!!!

My great-aunt used to make cube steaks like this. I’ve been trying to figure out how to make it for a long time. One of those ‘how’d she do that’ recipes.
My mom would say for the water in the gravy, add a cube or two of chicken bullion (and if you do that, use less salt in the seasoning).
I guess serve with egg noodles or mashed potatoes???
