Fortunately Yamaha came up with modx And discontinued one of the most crappy synth i ever played. I wonder what kind of shit are thinking the yamaha ingineers When decide save money inventing this Aberrant keyboard. Could they make it any more complicated? Yamaha sometimes doesn't realize we're in the 21st century AND not all musicians think Like engineers.
Pattern mode bring some problems added if you want to really use the MOXF in a live looping show: 1. The note on the one beat can sometimes be played as a cutoff note. That`s very annoying and you can´t avoid it because there´s no way to record with key start method (as in MOTIF XF). 2. There´s no way to erase a track complete without stop the loop mode. Only thing you can do is erase note by note... that´s S**T. 3. Some procesing errors can occur. For example: U are clearly in a new track recording but when it plays back the loop some notes has been recorded in the previous track. ¿¿?? This last thing had never occur me on my MOTIF XF. Clearly a processor fail!! For me...MOXF06 has better sounds than FA06 of Roland. Also better keys....and sofisticate parametrisations. BUT...for live looping....the FA06 sequencer is definitly better and more stable.
Is it possible to program a pattern in steps? Like if I have a fast sequence of notes that I can't phsyically play, just feed it the notes one at a time, or program them on a grid or something to make a pattern. EDIT - never mind, I found out! In pattern mode, prec REC, press F1 and where you have the setting for "overdub" or "replace", the other option is "step". Then when you hit play to start recording, you're adding notes step by step.
great demo. does anyone here know if the click can be routed to just the L or R output, so a live drummer can hear the click on an in ear monitor, with the signal going to Main FOH as just pattern "tracks"?
Okay so I'm a beginner at this. And I have a very old Yamaha PSR 630. I can make complete songs with it. Even as old as a technology is coming using a floppy disk. It still came with an on-board 16-track sequencer. My question is, is this particular keyboard from Yamaha a workstation, where I can create full songs, or does it not have a sequencer and recording ability? Please advise.
Question, on the motif xf you can "piece" together different patterns. in other words record your A part then Your B part and string them together. Can you do the same on the moxf? I am getting ready to purchase something and this is a big deal to me. If this machine can do that then there is no sense in spending the extra cash on a motif xf. I would appreciate any info you can give me!!
I don't know if it can do this. Good question though. All I've seen so far is one bass run over a few bars, same kicks and claps. Limited variation. Possibly best if you record direct to your DAW.
IVE JUST BROUGHT MOXF8, AND THESE VIDS ARE TRE HELPFUL
Man, these musicians today are so lucky to have quality stuff like this for cheap. I would of killed for one of these back in the 90's.
