    My mom had one just like that. Blue. Fantastic car. Bought it new in 66. She could chirp the gears too. Hit a parking lot culvert in it in 1969, tore off the oil pan and didn't know it. Burned the motor up. Sold it for parts.

      You probably mean oil filter cause it would take an immense amount of energy to tear an oil pan off a motor!

    The Chevrolet Chevelle/Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu was released back in 1963, with the first gen being produced from 1963 to 1967. It was the second car in Chevrolet's line-up to have Chevrolet's "Super Sport" package, with the first car being a 1961 Chevrolet Impala SS 327, SS 396/400, and SS 409. The SS 396, codenamed "L78" would make around 375 Horsepower and 500 Pound-Feet of Torque for cars that were equipped with it, such as the 1970 Chevrolet Nova SS 396 L78. This package had a more stylish interior, "SS" and "Super Sport" packages on the front, side, and rear fasica of the vehicles, and obviously came with more bigger engines. The "SS" package on average costed around $2,276 for a coupe in 1966 ($21,400 Dollars in 2023 Dollars). In future years, the "SS" package came with even bigger engines, such as the SS 427 and the SS 454 (Codenamed "LS6") featured on other cars such as the Chevrolet Corvette (SS 427/454) and the Chevrolet Chevelle (SS 427/SS 454).
    Because of the "SS" trim, it has spawned competitors made by other companies, examples include Pontiac's "Trans Am" and "The Judge" for the Firebird and GTO, Oldsmobile's "W-30" package for the 442, "Gran Sport" and "Gran Sport Xtreme" (GS and GSX) for the Buick Skylark and more, the "Cobra Jet", and "Super Cobra Jet" (CJ and SCJ) by Ford for the Torino, Fairlane, and other models, and many more that came.

      How do I know it's not a 12 bolt?

    • @jimthomas1989
      @jimthomas1989 26 дней назад +1

      It's a 66 Chevelle Malibu , not a Super Sport ,
      The Malibu came out with either a small block 283 or 327 with either a 2 speed powerglide or 350 turbo auto transmission and 10 bolt rear end .

    Why are you not showing the VIN? You know where the are, because most folks do. I know I do cause I bought a brand new 1966 SS 396 in May ‘66 after coming home from Army Basic. Gotta be straight up with people and the people want to know if it’s a 138 car or a clone. Been burned before…
