I had the pleasure of owning the 396/ 375 . What a bad ass , I had it balanced and blueprinted. I owned it for five years, and would turn it 7500 regularly. I remember missing 3rd gear once when I was powershifting and the needle went way up. But I never hurt that engine. I had it in a 62 bubble top .. I think of it real often
My dad bought the same looking car off the showroom floor back in 1967 so I got to grow up driving the Chevelle 396 Turbo 400 SS model even got to get my driver's license in it I sure do miss that old car and my dad too but he also bought the old Camaros short bed pickups Impalas fix them up and sold them for extra cash he was a real good mechanic everybody always come over and ask his advice God Rest his soul he was the best mechanic I ever knew
When I was 12, my oldest brother ordered a 1967 Chevelle SS396/375 hp. It was Grenada Gold, Black Vinyl Top and black interior. Muncie 4 Speed with the stock Shifter, reverse lock out..... Lived this car He used to take me for rides back then.
The 325 and 350 HP 396 engines had hydraulic lifters and the actual horsepower was a bit higher. The 375 HP engine had a LOT more horsepower than Chevy claimed, however it had solid lifters which required regular adjustment to run well. It sounded different too.
I own true 67 SS with 375 rated but much more closer to 430 hp. Comp Cams has a hydraulic lifter cam that mimics the solid lifter version. 3rd gear matted will get your attention.
We just bought one a month ago. My wife has wanted one for years and now she's got her dream car. IT'S a real 138 code car. 427 4 speed dark blue car. She will have fun driving it this summer. I encourage anyone wanting a muscle car to bite the bullet and not hesitate and get one. They are a once in a lifetime investment that you will never regret.
The 402 had actually a slightly larger bore than the 396. Chevy started using them in late '69, but still marketed them as a 396. The tach showed is a factory option, nicknamed the "blinker tach".
Nice car. I used to have a 70 SS light blue with black stripes, white interior, 375 HP which was solid lifter, auto, shift kit, high stall conv etc., with 4:10 dif. I thought I wanted to get another one but I have since changed my mind. I am now 66 yrs of age and would like to get a more subtle vehicle, yet still very nice looking car. My brother had a 67 SS dark blue, blue interior, 325 HP that he had modified and with new paint. etc. His was a stick. I would like to get a mix of the two. A 67 big block with an auto, with similar specs, that I had. Some day soon I hope. I love the 67 as much as the 70. Great memories of with both of them.
It's funny you said how the sound of the door closing brought back the memories from when you was a kid and heard your moms car door close.. And when you closed your door, it brought back the memories i have of my grandfathers 1967 Chevrolet Impala he bought brand new in 1967, and had it until 2010, and his car doors sounded just like yours do.. He passed away 5 years ago.. And i sure wish i had bought his car.. Memories like those are the best!! Thank you..
I too remember the "Body by Fisher" emblems! I thought they were so cool when I was younger. I also love the older cars had the ignition switch in the dash vs the column and how the keys would fly around when you get on the gas. It's the little things....
When I was 19 years old in '67 I bought a 1967 SS 396 Chevelle 4sp Butternut Yellow Black Vinyl Top Red Line Oval Firestone Tires. It was on the showroom floor at a dealership in New Orleans, LA. What fun times back in the day!
Beautiful car, I have had 4 of them in my life, you are correct, something about the smell, the ride, or just the look, brings back wonderful memories. That blue is my favorite color, I have a model on my desk, and I am always playing with it, while I am playing with it, I am thinking of the wonderful times I have had in them. Meet my wife of 47 year in one. Wonderful video. Thank you
I was 2 years old in 1967, but I also remember from various GM cars of the era, the silver colored sill, stepping on it or stepping over it. Also burning my legs on the vinyl seats (Florida-raised), super Ice Cold Air Conditioning, windows down on nice days, laying in the back tray, playing on the floor of the backseat, the red and white door lights that came on when door opened at night, working the power windows on some cars. Endless memories, great times.
Yes That's the car , please keep the Car it's the Best and anyone else out there Thinks that he should Keep the Car please give him a thumbs up too Thank you from Joey in Honolulu Hawaii 😎
Took me back my friend. I had a 66 SS 396 that was Marina Blue with black carpet and white factory bench seats. I had the 15 x 8 rally wheels with the red line tires. I installed the tach where yours was because I liked that on the 67 SS. I had the 4:11 rear that showed 2000 at 40 and 3000 at 60. M21 Muncie sounded great. Thanks so much for taking me back 50 years! Built a 69 vet after that with the same color and rally wheels. Now have a frame off restored 87 Buick Grand National that is methanol powered. Still miss that Chevelle. Thank you so much for sharing. You made my day.
I just waned to add something ... I was in 11th grade even I got my first ride in that exact car. My buddy's car .. He bought it new - I THINK- he paid $37.50. His car was 396/375 HP, solid lifters with a 4 bolt main. I believe the 350 and 325 HP had hydraulic lifters and 2 bolt main. I my 68 Chevelle when I was in the NAVY and to this day - have loved all the chevelle muscle cars. I loved the video - thanks for sharing! Rick
NICE RIDE! My favorite muscle car of all... I owned a 1967 Malibu with a 400 small block which is not the same as a 396, 427 or 454 big block... A 400 small block has the big block type crank stroke and larger pistons than a 283, 327 or 350.. My Malibu also had a turbo 400 trans 4:11 spool rear with weld wheels... Pulled 12s to 13s in the quarter mile... I miss it & will have one again... Currently I am restoring a 1967 Camaro SS!
I owned a '67 Chevelle SS 396, L34, rated at 350 HP, 780 cfm Holley dual feed carb., Air Lift shocks, sun super tach, hurst 4-speed shifter, muncie M-20 transmission, with traction bars, the car was Balero Red, with red bucket seat interior, I ran Keystone deep dish mag wheels, the car had the white pinstripping, although subtle! The car was a freakin' chix magnet!
My dream car. My dad had one. Marina blue with a black vinyl roof. He said it was dynoed at 425hp. We went camping one year to Bowling green Kentucky in this, pulling a pop up trailer. 5 kids in the back and my baby brother on my mom's lap. My dad said that he used to play a game with the guys that he carpooled with. He'd put a 20 dollar bill on the console. If someone in the back seat could grab it while he shifted through the gears, then they could keep it. Apparently nobody could. The previous owner was the head mechanic at the Chevy dealer, so it had lots of extras and a beautiful sounding Thrush muffler system. I always remember the sound of the car downshifting while I lay in bed, as my dad rolled into town from the Chrysler plant in Windsor. Nice memories. The replacement car after this was a '73 Plymouth Fury wagon. Talk about lunchbag letdown. Lol.
I remember my little league baseball coach would take us to the Dairy Queen in his Blue 1967 Chevelle Super Sport. I loved sitting in the front seat and watching him chirp the tires as he banged thru the gears. My memory of his car is from 1969-70 so his car was a couple years old during this time. I have never been inside a 67 chevelle super sport since that time but its funny how some memories just stay with you. Always loved the lines on a 67 SS Chevelle because of that memory.
Just found your channel and it brought back memories. While in the Air Force in Tucson, Arizona I ran across a 1966 SS396 Chevelle. Being I never owned a big block I jumped at it. I later purchased another two 1966's and a 1967. All SS396 4 speed bucket seat console cars. All were less than 6 years old so totally untouched and unmodified. Back then guys actually used these as their everyday work cars! The 325hp ones had Rochester carbs. One was a 360hp (I thought at the time but probably 350) and was a hydraulic cam oval port head two bolt main with a cast iron intake and Holley 4160. I thought someone had added the Holley but did not have a carb adapter and looking at the fuel lines it was obvious it was factory. It probably had a slightly hotter cam from the factory because it was much quicker on the quarter mile than the 325hp. With the lousy factory shifter grinding gears and spinning bald street tires it ran 14.80's. Today I prefer the 1967's. First year of the dual master and disc brakes with rallye wheels. Thanks for the memories!
My dad bought one back in 19 67 when I was 2 years old bought it off the showroom floor at Fred Bauer Chevrolet we had that car the whole time I lived with my parents and then they decided to sell the car when I was probably 23 or 25 I can't remember sold it to a guy my dad worked with and his wife was out driving it around when she ended up totaling it out sure made me sad to hear that cuz I love the hell out of that car I even got my driver's license in that car anyway nice to see a nice 67 Chevelle still around take care of yours they are indeed a badass car my dad also had a knack for 60 series Camaros 56 Chevy 2 door hardtops he owned 13 of them not all at once but throughout his lifetime and the old 60 series Chevy pickups last car that he built was a 62 Chevy two-door Impala convertible brought it home on a trailer looking like it was ready to be scrapped and when he was done with it looked like it rolled off the showroom floor he loved building cars but the Chevelle he bought brand new and it's funny our Chevelle looked exactly like the one you got pretty color blue and with the same mags except for dads had a bench seat and an automatic and all black interior
No such thing as too many cars. Great video. Had me thinking about my own stories. Good taste in cars, man, you're definitely a connoisseur and you really know how to drive and give objective opinion on a vehicle.Very analytical. I'm subbed.
I met my best friend about 30 years ago when I was driving my 67 Elcameno threw town when he past me like a bat out of hell, in the turning lane in his 67 SS Chevelle!
Extreme Automotive Addiction, Sweet ride my friend, in fact my 2nd favorite year of the Chevelles 69 being the 1st which I've owned years ago, I now have a "66 Mustang Coupe with a factory 4spd 3.50 rear, and I know what you mean about winding out in 4th on the freeway, "American Made all the way!!!" all the best and God Bless to and your family ;-)
Badass. I just got a project roller 67 Chevelle Malibu a couple months ago. My dad had a 65 SS with a 300hp 327 and 4spd muncie that unfortunately rotted away in their backyard over 40 years but i was able to salvage the engine and trans! I have the engine at the engine shop right now and I'm going to try to get 325hp or 350hp out of her. Mine has 4.11 gears so I'll stick to the backroads haha.
I owned a 1967 Chevelle 427 BB with a rock crusher M22 and a 12" rear end. I bought it in pieces from a little old Lady in Lodi. Her husband had passed away a year earlier. She was the sweetest little thing and it had an absurdly low price. I wasn't about to do that to her. I'm glad I got to her first. I gave her $10,000 dollars in 1989. I did not leave it stock. In hindsight I wish I had. I built it myself in my shop over a three year period. When done it was well over 525HP/550#lbs of torque. I too had 3.73 gears and loved that ratio honestly. I find it hard to believe you think it's not to fast because mine was freaking violent. Divorce in 2008 ripped it from my hands. I miss that car to this day and would have been buried in it.
Really enjoyed your video. I am currently restoring the 1967 Chevelle my dad bought in 1968. I bought it from him in 1976. It's a 13817 with an M20 4-speed with the L35 motor with the factory 4 piston disc brakes. It came with the 3:31 posi, which was great for highway driving. Drivetrain is all original. As you said, it's the smell, the sound, and the feel of the whole experience of owning a classic vehicle! Your video did that for me, minus the smell.
I could write a novel, book, or something on this subject. I have read every comment and oh the memories I/we have with this particular car. I can relate to all of them even to the sound of the closing door. I bought my "Marina Blue" 67 SS 4 speed Chevelle in 71 for $1,100 and immediately bought a 375 horse 396 out of a 69 Chevelle that my friend pulled to put in a 427. I did all the known things that could be done to a motor back then to make it as fast as possible and still be able to drive it on the street. Never got beat by any one. I could walk off and leave the supposedly fastest cars in town. Only one that beat me was the police a few times. lol. I let a friend drive the car once and he came back with a blown up motor and blown clutch. I put a 428 Pontiac in it for a while, had a really hot 327 for a while, had a 427 with a turbo 400 out of a 69 police car for a while. As with so many stories, life got in the way and I parked it and was always going to get back to it and restore it to its former glorious memories that I had in my mind. It sat for 28 years (in New Mexico so it didn't rust) before I finally got started on the restoration. I pulled the body off, sand blasted the frame and painted it black. I completely rebuilt the suspension and brake system and had the bottom of the car painted and looking beautiful!. If only the top of the car looked as nice as the bottom does! Then again another life thing and into storage went the Chevelle for another 10 years. Pulled it out about 2 years ago and had it in my garage and was getting things moving along pretty good and 4 months ago Hurricane Harvey decide everything I owned needed to go swimming. My house, shop, my 6 other cars, my Chevelle, everything I owned was under 15 feet of water and left everything covered in 6 inches or more of mud. The Chevelle got hosed off the best I could get it and it now sits at my son's house waiting for me to decide what to do with it. My one thing that I don't have to regret is I didn't get rid of it. I sold dozens of Camaros, Corvettes, Chevelles and many other cars, but I held on to this one. Soon I will get things back together in life and jump back on the 67 and get it back on the road!!!! Lots of other things and memories are running through my head but I will spare you. Book? I warned you!!! lol..
Wow such a similar story. My parents bought a green 67 Malibu while my mom was pregnant with me. It got totaled by a bus. The bought a yellow Malibu after that 283 3 on the tree. In1974 my mom got a new car and my dad started driving the Malibu. In 79 my dad bought an elcamino just like the one you showed. He sold the Malibu to his brother because we didn't have a place to store it. At 19 I found a Malibu with an SS hood with a power glide. I wanted a 4spd but bought it anyway. It turned out to look great on the outside and was fast but it was a rust bucket. I had to sell it a few years later. It was too much to restore. The roof had a vinyl top and was rusted through. One day one day maybe I can get one like yours.
@@ExtremeAutomotiveAddiction I followed you on Instagram. I have a picture of my old one on there. My dad had a bunch of Kool vehicles before he started driving the Malibu. 65 or 66 chevy pick up 68 or so pick up an old wyllis army ambulance. He traded vehicles all the time til he bought the elcamino which was a 350 4bbl and fast.
@@ExtremeAutomotiveAddiction saw the update video. If you have not already done it I would lower the front a bit. Mine was lower in the front. 70s on the front 60s on the rear. Keystones classics. 67 is the perfect car to be jacked up in the rear ole school street rod style.. What color is yours? Marina blue?
Love the 67 Chevelle with a big block and 4 speed. I knew a guy with the 396/375 solid lifters with 410 gears and 4 speed. That was a 12 sec car and he knew how to drive it. He sold the car to some pothead that was partying and wrecked it showing off.
Had one as a teenager in 73. To beautiful of a car for a teen, Loved it but beat it to the ground without having the money at that age to repair my stupidities. LOL. Bought it for 1000.00, sold it in 76-77 for 350.00. The Crager wheels I had on it were worth more than that. The 396 was a very fast motor and unless you have driven it you don't understand that kick or jump he is talking of. The torque in the engine was a monster. In comparison, I now have a 69 427 400 corvette. Sorry but that 396 would have kicked this vettes ass if we were racing first one to 100 mph. My Chevelle struggled to go over 110 mph, but got there faster than anything I raced. Wish I still had it, memories for sure.
@@ExtremeAutomotiveAddiction IMO if you are seeking comments on which rims to choose, I would consider the old school Cragers over a modern low profile rim and tire. They just don't belong on the muscle car era, IMO.
I ilke your story about your mum and dad..i exactly know what you are talking of...cause i did the same..i bought a german opel rekord my dad had in da 70's... yes ...its all about the memories...wish you a good time with your chevelle ... greets from a turkish enthusiasts living in germany
Just ran up on your channel . great video super car I have a lot of memories of Chevelle.s growing up .my dad always had some kind of old Chevy s around Mosley . Chevelle impala when you said .that about Fisher body.took me way back .will definitely subscribe .if .I could I'd give yea two thumbs up . like the Fonz. Use to do.haaay👍👍
LOL...you're speaking my language across the board. I love the little things like that which bring back those memories and the Fonz from Happy Days...great show!! Thabks for the support!!
When to Modesto High School with the Lucas brothers in the early 1970's. They had the baddest assed car at our school- a '67 Chevelle SS, 396, 4 speed, blue with black buckets. Motor was built by Rettig Brothers in Modesto, CA. That car was F.A.S.T. Don't know what happened to the brothers and that car after high school.
325 horse had hydraulic cam 10.5 compression oval port heads and qjet carburetor. 350-360 horse much the same except intake and holley carburetor.375hp 11to 1 comp rectangle port heads steel crank 4 bolt main solid lifter cam and big holley carburetor
Great ride! In 1972 I bought a red with black interior SS396 4 banger with a 411 pos-traction for $750 looked like new. I was so young (still in high school) and so dumb for selling it! I’m looking for another one and when I find the right one I will own it but it has to be red and a true. SS 138.
Yes. Nice ride. I enjoy riding with the memories and attachments. We had a white 71 Chevelle SS. I can get away from you quick. Dad's. He didn't keep it long but I got to drive it. Yay.
Beautiful car. Keep the 3.73 rear and consider a perfect fit 5 speed overdrive upgrade. And if you want staggered torque thrusts, US Mags U102 come in 15x7 15x8 and 15x9. These look more like the original castings from the 60's, than the ARE's
I bought a 66 2dr. Mulibu 283 220hp 3speed on the colume maroon with black vinal interior for 1,600.00 in 1966 from a buddy. Still think about that car :)
Nice personal story I truly can relate! I have the exact same car... interior I'm changing but it's the same true by the Vin 138! Sentimental story thanks for sharing
My friend in high school had A Marina Blue 67 SS Chevelle 396 Muncie 4 sp 12 bolt 3:73 & i had 69 Z/28 Blue with wht. Stripes 302 cid with 3:73 , later on in life i bought A 70 SS 454 Chevelle realizing these full framed superior cars are better made than any camaro But the '67 SS Chevelle '67 L-79 Nova '67 427 Corvette & the 69 Z/28 & Hideaway lites , these 4 cars are where GMs Best accomplishments
It is most definitely a show car ! And the stance is LEGENDARY ! If it was mine , i would pull up a chair and just look at it all day ...there is no doubt if I knew you we could talk cars all day long , you definitely "get it".....great videos and peace to you and yours.
Listen brother you do what you want. I can see you loved your mother and making her happy. I would put a LS 1 in it and update everything like disc brakes front and rear as well as 6 speed manual. Make it where you can take that long trip.
Thanks...i have plenty of cars i can do that with. I want to keep the car as is basically. It would be nice to have another gear but for the money it would cost u will leave it as is and drive it 👍
That was my first car not an SS just a straight off the floor model I love that car was an automatic with bench seats Marina blue interior marina blue exterior I wish I had never sold it original engine original transmission I am a dumb ass but it had the same sound that same throaty sound from the engine not a super fast car in that if you were racing somebody in a Corvette you would lose but if you were getting on the highway you didn’t have to worry about getting into lanes really enjoyed your broadcast I’m sad now I wish I had that car again well no power steering I’d live with it. Thanks
All it needs is some black plates. I like it. A friend of mine in 69 when he got his license bought a 66 El Camino 327 4 speed. Midnight blue with blue interior.
Friend it late 80s had a candle apple red 66 with a pinkish flame on hood.He swapped out the 350 and put in a 283 I believe, a little under powered after.
Nice car Mike! the 375 horse motor was a solid lifter cam motor and would spin to the redline in a hurry! Infact they had a reputation for exploding clutches and flywheels at the dragstrip.
Pete McCarthy hello and thank you!! I am not all that familiar with the differences between the 325, 350 and 375 horse motors but they were all such beautiful cars. And there is nothiibg like the sound of a big block!
My 66 chevel S/S I put a 4-11 rear third member in. Highway speeds at 70 mph was 2:50 on the tack. Raising I could hit 95 mph and never red line in third gear in a quarter mile track . Fourth gear was never used on the track. Of course I went up to a 405 w/pop up pistons and a 850 holly carburetor with ground and polished heads and tighten up the linkage on the shifter muncey lockout with hooker headers and ran with hood off on track to let air go over the top because the blockade hood forced all air under slowing you down. Full cam on crank and Big Daddy Don helping me setting my dwell and tuning my duel points to adjust the flow of the double pumper 850 holly. Turned low 9’s Orange County raceway. SEMPER FIDELIS
L34 L35 and L78 were the engine types and differing horsepower differences. Different internal components and compression ratios. The 402 was bored .030 over
I had the pleasure of owning the 396/ 375 . What a bad ass , I had it balanced and blueprinted. I owned it for five years, and would turn it 7500 regularly. Solid lifters would drown out your radio if you got the 375hp.The 375hp was definitely not a family car.
They actually need little adjustment. And if done right you can't even tell its a solid.
Plus the 375 hp had 11-1 compression! Took higher octane gas like “Sunoco 260“ which was like 110 octane if my memory serves me right.
I own true 67 SS with 375 rated but much more closer to 430 hp. Comp Cams has a hydraulic lifter cam that mimics the solid lifter version. 3rd gear matted will get your attention.

I'm so happy you enjoyed the video and thank you for sharing your memory.
That GN sounds like a wicked beast...I do love those cars!!
Older 60s cars fever will always be in my blood.
Awesome Car, I have memories of a 67 SS 327 high school friend's brother car the same colors inside and out!
Rick
Thank you
Very nice!!
Lol.
LOL...gotta love those memories
I remember my little league baseball coach would take us to the Dairy Queen in his Blue 1967 Chevelle Super Sport. I loved sitting in the front seat and watching him chirp the tires as he banged thru the gears. My memory of his car is from 1969-70 so his car was a couple years old during this time. I have never been inside a 67 chevelle super sport since that time but its funny how some memories just stay with you. Always loved the lines on a 67 SS Chevelle because of that memory.
That is an awesome story!! Thank you for sharing and watching...I love how vehicles can bring back memories like this!!
That's what it's all about. Thanks for watching!
My friend had one back in high school same color....nice car and thanks for bringing back some of the best moments in my life also
Thank you for the comment cause that's what it's all about, bring back those memories and reflecting on those feelings. 👍
Yea kiddies this when they made beautiful fast cars!
Michael Cuff do you like this model or the 70 models more ?
Good memories, thanks for the comment
Thanks for your memories and the car is wonderful!! I used to have a 1967 Chevelle as well. 👍🏼👍🏼
Thank you
Awesome car, love it....wish I could afford one...
My dream car! My dad had a 67 ss 396 4spd bench seat.
I had a close friend who had one that he'd replaced the 396 with a 427. The car was a beast back then.
Love Chevelle my fav muscle car.
No such thing as too many cars.
Great video. Had me thinking about my own stories. Good taste in cars, man, you're definitely a connoisseur and you really know how to drive and give objective opinion on a vehicle.Very analytical. I'm subbed.
Thank you!!
I met my best friend about 30 years ago when I was driving my 67 Elcameno threw town when he past me like a bat out of hell, in the turning lane in his 67 SS Chevelle!
What a cool way to meet!!
Very nice I had one in 1977 wish I still have it
Michael Kaser sounds like you're going to have a lot of fun building that beauty. Thanks for the comment 👍
Pure time machine. Great color. Fantastic post. Thanks a lot.
Thank you
I owned a 1967 Chevelle 427 BB with a rock crusher M22 and a 12" rear end.
They are great cars for sure!
Thank you, so glad you enjoyed the video and I love that your car has been in the family so long
That's a beautiful car. It might not be perfect. But it's a great Cruise night car😊😊😊
Book? I warned you!!! lol..
Danny Wilsher you have an amazing story there. I hope you are able to restore the car and get it back to its former glory. Thanks for sharing!!
I've got a 68 3 4 ton camper special all original 318 and a 78 Z28 with a 454 around 600 HP will trade
I have the same memories just my dads was a 65 SS 4 speed 4.11. Last engine he had in it was a 427 out of a 67 impala.
Nice!!
That's an awesome story, I love it!! Yes one day you will find the right one and when you do I hope you share it with me
@@ExtremeAutomotiveAddiction I followed you on Instagram.
@@kenmorris6271 nice, I'll check it out on Instagram
@@ExtremeAutomotiveAddiction saw the update video. If you have not already done it I would lower the front a bit. Mine was lower in the front. 70s on the front 60s on the rear. Keystones classics. 67 is the perfect car to be jacked up in the rear ole school street rod style.. What color is yours? Marina blue?
@@kenmorris6271 I haven't done anything with the stance. I dont know that it is exactly marina, seems a little darker to me and from what I remember
Lovely Chevelle and no silly wheels and tires. Real nice wheels and tires. I have a SS 396 Marina Blue down here in Brazil.
Sweet...love it!
I had a 1966 SS impala 396/325 hp in 1966. Put a 427/425 hp solid lifter cam in the 396, wow, what a difference. Really woke up the 396
Very nice car you should be proud.
Joseph M thank you, I am 👍
Love the 67 Chevelle with a big block and 4 speed. I knew a guy with the 396/375 solid lifters with 410 gears and 4 speed. That was a 12 sec car and he knew how to drive it. He sold the car to some pothead that was partying and wrecked it showing off.
Very sad to hear!!
Thanks for the comment and so happy the video brought back good memories
@@ExtremeAutomotiveAddiction IMO if you are seeking comments on which rims to choose, I would consider the old school Cragers over a modern low profile rim and tire. They just don't belong on the muscle car era, IMO.
@@ckstaff thanks, I went with a set of corvette rallies which I'm really happy with.
I ilke your story about your mum and dad..i exactly know what you are talking of...cause i did the same..i bought a german opel rekord my dad had in da 70's... yes ...its all about the memories...wish you a good time with your chevelle ... greets from a turkish enthusiasts living in germany
Thank you and greeting to you!!
Great memories. Thanks.
Really beautiful car, when I was 17 I had a 1966 SS 427 L-88 but I do like the 1967 SS better
Dominic Petruzzelli wow, a 427 car??? Nice... really beautiful cars!!
I'm pretty sure that you are full of shit, 67 427 and on top of that an L-88 ! Hahahahaha Hahahahaha Hahahahaha.
What's wrong Zuckerberg? Calling someone out about a lie is wrong, but lying is alright with you?
Talk about a dream garage!
Just ran up on your channel . great video super car I have a lot of memories of Chevelle.s growing up .my dad always had some kind of old Chevy s around
Mosley .
Pete McCarthy wow, you req lly know your history. Thanks for that, I love to learn
yup.....huge difference!
also the 400 was a small block
leroydog45 1971 Malibu 400 was a 300 hp big block.
u r very correct in your response
Great ride! In 1972 I bought a red with black interior SS396 4 banger with a 411 pos-traction for $750 looked like new. I was so young (still in high school) and so dumb for selling it! I’m looking for another one and when I find the right one I will own it but it has to be red and a true. SS 138.
Oh we have all had those we wish we would have kept. But what a fun adventure it will be to find another.
Best of luck and thanks for watching!
Yes.
A whole lot of people love to have that car. Trust me
I'm one of them...
My fav Chevelles are 66,67,69 and 70. I only owned 1 back in 1973 and it was a '64 2-door with a 283 2 bbl auto trans.
I'm with ya, 67 and 69 are my favorites but they all are great!!!
I bought a 66 2dr. Mulibu 283 220hp 3speed on the colume maroon with black vinal interior for 1,600.00 in 1966 from a buddy. Still think about that car :)
Thanks for showing this beauty car
Thank you!!
How could I not sub after watching this awesome video!!!! Thanks for posting it.
Danny Wilsher thank you so much!!
What a whip! Love your ride homz!..great video too, man, u were just glowing with nostalgia..
Thank you, I do love that car!!
Had a 66 chevelle in the navy sold it when I went to the fleet broke my heart gonna get another one someday
Nice personal story I truly can relate! I have the exact same car... interior I'm changing but it's the same true by the Vin 138! Sentimental story thanks for sharing
Thank you my fellow chevelle owner! You should drive it over to the valley some time when we have our cars and coffees.
Yes there was a difference in hp! 375 was 375 horse motor was the best steal crank motor !
Russ Kessler yes sir. Solid cam too
The 66@67 are favorite chevelles
Nice i remember the sound the trunk lid made when you closed it, sounds like a tin can
My friend in high school had A Marina Blue 67 SS Chevelle 396 Muncie 4 sp 12 bolt 3:73 & i had 69 Z/28 Blue with wht.
That’s my ULTIMATE dream car..
Just a convertible. 67 for sure!!! Beautiful ride sir!!
Pablo Cruise thank you
It is most definitely a show car ! And the stance is LEGENDARY ! If it was mine , i would pull up a chair and just look at it all day ...there is no doubt if I knew you we could talk cars all day long , you definitely "get it".....great videos and peace to you and yours.
Thank you very much! And I would love to talk cars with you any time!!
Beautiful car. I grew up around my dads, so incredibly sad when he sold it...😏😏😏
Listen brother you do what you want.
Tim Mitzlaff yes black plates would set it off and love the 4 speed of the el camino...good color combo too
Congrats for leaving the white knob on the shifter. Everyone puts some gaudy shift knob. Good on ya.
Thanks, that's the way I got the car and I have several others with the same shift knob...I like them!!
White ball of power.
Although I dont have a ss i do have a 67 chevelle Malibu with 496 dyno tested at 676 hp and 690 foot pounds of torque. Red on red. Love it
Sounds like one amazing beast! I would love to see it
At least you didn't have to convince Dad the SS was worth more than $2500.The dealer gave that on the El Camino for the trade-in.
Thanks for getting back to me - I did this on a 66 Chevelle and it did not effect handling. You do have a sweep 67.
Thank you!!!
I and my wife love chevelles.we own 64, 65, 66, 67, and 68 chevelle. All ss cars.
Awesome collection of chevelles!!
That is beautiful..
Great video!
The mid year Chevelle’s are a beautiful design.
I’m a Mopar guy... 70 Cuda, 70 Charger... but I like all the cars from that era.
Thank you! I love mopars as well. I would love to get a 70 challenger or cuda someday
Great car! Would love to on a ‘67 some day soon.
Thank you and good luck in finding your 67
I owned one of these from 71-82 . Wish I still have it.
I hear ya my friend, I think we all have a few we wish we hadn't let them get away
My first car was a 67’ Chevelle I purchased in 1976 for $450 cash. I purchased it from one of my old grade school teachers. I miss that car.
They are beautiful cars!!
beautiful piece of american machinery
Nice car and enjoyed the stories.
Thank you!!
Love the colour and blue interior.
Thank you!
Wow, that sounds like a bad beast!!!👍
12:44 you can see the engine just lifting the car up. Love it
Thanks for the ride!
Anytime!!
L34 L35 and L78 were the engine types and differing horsepower differences. Different internal components and compression ratios.
The 402 was bored .030 over
