- Queen Elizabeth Calypso is a Caribbean calypso song by Trinidadian calypso artist Egbert Moore, known as Lord Beginner. Written in 1953, the song celebrates the ascension and coronation of Queen Elizabeth II.

Indeed, there are a hidden few caribbean royalist songs out there. With all the republican nonsense in the media and Caribbean politicians talking about becoming republics, it’s easy to forget (indeed, it’s often actively suppressed), that historically there has been a fierce loyalty to the crown in the Caribbean, a loyalty which still continues in parts of the region, even if not as loud and screamy as the republicans.
