A friend of mine had a little kiddo who always woke her up really early. She put a drop of nail polish on the end of the hour hand on a cheap Ikea clock, and another drop near the "6". She told her daughter that she couldn't come wake mom up until the 2 dots were near each other. It helped Mom at least sleep til around 6am. 😂
As a teacher I love your idea for the clock! Telling time on a clock is a second grade math standard and elapsed time on a clock is a 3rd grade standard, while most people don’t even have old school clocks in their homes! This will set your kids up for success with that! I may have to steal that idea for blocks of time in class!
I wish that $Tree had the storage boxes on their website. I picked up 6 right before school started, loved them, but when I went back for more they were sold out. Tried to order them off the website but it lists them as "available IN stores ONLY". I've found so many uses for these. I'm on the lookout for them and will purchase a LOT when I find them again. I love the cupcake liner for the ketchup idea. My 6-year-old loves ketchup but I hate the cleanup (it usually gets everywhere). I WILL be using this trick!
YES! I took magnets off my freezer that my son had put there awhile ago and was devastated to find all the rust. I think water dripped from our water dispenser and got trapped behind.

I found when using it, it started eating through my clothes. They started getting little holes in them. That may not be the case with the DT oxi cleaner. You can’t use vinegar on natural stone countertops. I have quartzite island and counters. My recipe is 3/4 c water ,1/4 c rubbing alcohol, 1 tsp dawn dish soap and 15 drops essential oil of your preference. (I put more drops).

Wow, the clipboard idea for this time of year of getting the kids' "starting the school year" paperwork done - great idea. I have empty nest now, but I'm not so far removed that I don't remember that dreaded time when that paperwork rolls in, AND has a time urgency for getting sent back in. I only have two sons, but I had friends with up to 6 kids, and that clipboard system would have helped them tremendously. Note for others: what they did with that many children was they assigned each child (as they could do, based on age appropriateness) to fill in everything they could themselves on the paperwork to help the mom out. It helped them learn, and it helped her out, period.
I take the shoe organizer and magnetic hooks on my cruises. They add plenty of extra storage space in limited storage staterooms where most of the walls are magnetic. A full size shoe organizer is just too big.

Have to chime in on the ketchup...I'm with you, I basically never use it. Our pastor sings a song with the kids that says "it's okay if I like ketchup on my apples...cuz ketchup on my apples makes the whole world dazzle" My daughter now eats ketchup on her apples. Yuk!!
I love all the ideas ❤but one thing I would add is as a teacher please don't give us any physical items like mugs, bags, or knick knacks because people give us them all the time. Just stick with a food item (as long as there is no allergies or special diet needs) but nothing over board like a box of donuts or even a gift card if you can swing it. When in doubt a 5$ gift card for coffee is always great
I think gift cards to DT, Walmart, Target, Kroger, Staples, Office Depot, Big Lots, Subway (or any fast food restaurant if no allergies), or Starbucks would be great for Teachers. That way they can get school or craft supplies if they need specifics, or can have a treat or a need met when needed. 😊❤️

All awesome ideas, Thank you. On the 'Ketchup/Catsup front, there is only one occasion when I use it, and this is maybe a few times a year, it is on Onion Rings. Crazy I know lol.
That ketchup stories had ne laughing because i can relate 🤣🤣🤣🤣. So my oldest now is 16 but when he was little like toddler age he would eat basic everything with ketchup 🤣😅😅. I remembered him sitting in his high chair dipping his Cheeto puffs in ketchup 😅 i remember him wanting ketchup on his rice and beans img it was crazy lol. But i was like hey as long as hes eating lol its not hurting anyone. 😅😅😅😅. And both my boys LOVE sauces lol they are 9 and 16. We go through ranch in my house like CRAZY!

I did the magazine holder on its side for water bottles. Works pretty good. The lip around the edge messes up the fit but not so much that you can’t use it. Ikwym about ketchup. I don’t really care for it myself. My son use to eat a bologna and ketchup sandwich which was probably the must revolting thing I ever heard of. Dad didn’t teach him that one. We should be hearing some baby noises pretty soon shouldn’t we? So is this the end or are you shooting for your own baseball team? You have some pretty awesome tips and tricks (hacks sounds like what a cat does when they have a hairball)!

Did you know ketchup is actually addicting to kids/people? I didn't know that until recently 🙃 I've been meaning to make it from scratch but the convenience of it just being everyone is so overpowering! 😭
They're usually in the craft or toy sections at DT, but I know what you mean. Some stores don't have the same items. You could always try Dollar General or Family Dollar, since they carry similar items.

OMG the face clock has helped me as an adult. It helps with seeing a visual of how much time is available. Digital clocks don’t support “seeing time”.
When my son was little, we used a small 4x6 photo album and dry erase markers. We put morning, afternoon and betime checklists in it.
Don’t use vinegar on stone countertops, it etches them. Use alcohol instead.

Pro tip use wet erase markers on things you don't need to rewrite daily/weekly!

I didn’t think you’re supposed to use vinegar on granite…I use ⅓ alcohol/ ⅔ water, a squeeze of dish soap and some essential oils
If it’s well deluted….its fine.

Vinegar is NOT a disinfectant, look up the CDC's statement on this.
