To the guys not knowing why the 630 mm heat ATGM didnt pen but the 550mm ATGM did is bc the 550mm was a tandem ATGM first blowing of the grid then fusing the second warhead to pen the main armour
its still not supposed to work against slat armor because it destroys the warhead often without detonating the first charge which is needed to set off the second charge. it only works half the time at disabling the first charge.

I don’t think they work against most high calibre heat like the is2 because they were designed to stop handheld heat launchers like bazooka or panzerfaust

@@Lillspratt this is not about warhead reliability at all, its about causing a malfunction in the formation of the hypersonic copper jet stream and you do this by physically warping or destroying the copper lining inside the warhead. more modern munitions rely on more than just a contact primer like proximity based sensors and completly ignore slat armor by detonating before it contacts it.
War thunder does not understand how this armor works, the bars shred the warhead without letting the lining form a jet. this only works half the time, so either it doesn't work at all or a mostly effective jet is formed most of the time that still cuts through armor. any of these warheads should have worked half the time.
I have a question: Do the Panzerschürzen on some german tanks like the Panzer 4H or the Panther D also work against HEAT or can you only effectively use it against HE?
@@existanimal0 because some smaller caliber shells penetrate, yet some higher caliber shells do barely anything? its very opportunistic and it depends on alot of things. right conditions = youre fine. slightly wrong conditions, however = youre dead thats quite literally luck dont even get me started on the spotting mechanism. if youre lucky, youll get matched up with normal people who pay attention to one thing at a time, but god bless your soul if you come across the adhd-ridden sweatlord that can spot a pixel changing 1km away. normal, sane humans cannot both have fun in war thunder AND win. you can only have one though, tbf if youre playing war thunder chances are you arent having fun.

@llthk138 penetration of the warhead does not matter since the cage is supposed to shred the copper lining inside stopping any jet from ever forming.

Irl it wasnet only for like the rounds to blow up early, it was more effektive at just flatout destroying the shells, making them not blow up at all
the truth is that armor like this only works half the time and the other half it still forms a jet that can penetrate light armor.
