I was a Senior in High School that year.
Now I'm a Senior Citizen.
😁😁😁😁😁😁😁
Ha!
So am I. 😁
Thank you, Fred. It sometimes really makes me cry to see how empty our world is now... Your vids are needed as much as comfort food.
“The America We Knew” is so right on! I honestly don’t recognize America today.
The most memorable month in my life. On the 22d I married the love of my life and had 30 wonderful years before I lost her. Thank you, Fred for the wonderful memory.❤😊
You're very welcome, Richard.
Wishing you the best, richardgrimes4440.
49 years after that final scene in _Trilogy of Terror_ and I still feel a chill.
I used to listen to that song lonely people all the time back in those days. As a kid who was bullied and never fit in, that song really spoke to me. Thanks, Fred for the trip back to 75!
You're welcome, UVF. Many of us didn't fit in, but we had other gifts.
Thanks for taking me back to good times, Fred.
You're welcome, billyray.
Wolfman Jack was one of the people that influenced me to get into radio.
So how did you do?
I always enjoy watching your videos, Fred. As a child of the 1970s, I remember seeing many of the commercials and hearing those songs on the radio posted in this video as I was growing up.
Thanks, CM.
Wonderful show Fred, you really had me grinning at the end along with Karen Black 😅! Anyway, love me some Martini & Rossi with Burt and Angie, what a flashback. Thank you! ❤😊
I remember watching that commercial. Burt was a good composer but a lousy singer. He and his wife Angie Dickinson separated shortly after this commercial aired and divorced in 1985.
You're welcome, Doug. Glad you enjoyed it.
This brings back so many memories. Thank you so much.😊
You're welcome, l j.
You know Fred, it’s like you literally take my brain from my head and transport it to a simpler place in time, a time that I lived through, and a time that makes me what I am today…I look forward to your memories day after day. This one took me back to my senior year in high school, readying myself for college…the year I did so much of my growing up. May God’s blessings always be upon you. Thank you
Much appreciated, Dennis.
Lovely Susan Dey.
Her legs were skinny. I'll take Maureen McCormick in a heartbeat. But, to each his/her own.
Thanks for the video. March 1975 I was stationed on Okinawa at Camp Foster. We only had one American TV station, Armed Forces Radio & TV Stations. Semper Fi
You're welcome, usmc.
Thank you for your service!
@Nunofurdambiznez Thank you. I always tell people the same thing. It was an honor to serve our great Nation and beloved Marine Corps. Semper Fi from an old Marine Sergeant.
Thanks for the memories!
Gosh I feel like I'm back in those days again, thanks Fred.
That's my goal, Tom.
Now that made me smile, thank you Fred 😊! The ending of Trilogy of terror still holds as one of the creepiest for me!!!
Me as well, Bridget.
Seems like that was a very 70's thing, the twist bad ending. Being a sucker for happy endings I've always hated that.
@@JeffDeWitt Sorry you feel like that, I like happy endings as well but with a horror movie I want twists and creepy 👍
A pre-MTV JJ Jackson (RIP) doing the Robert Plant interview. Great video, keep'em coming!
I just can't stop, Rick.
Karen Black is now just a talking point for Svengoolie.
I miss this time period 😢.
Kiss,Tommy,the Midnight Special,and Olivia Newton John-awesome days!
That Chicago VIII album came with a T-shirt Iron-on of the cover logo. I had it ironed on a t-shirt and wore it all summer!
Three months before I graduated from high school and went into the Army. Thanks for the memories.
You're welcome, Dale.
Thank you Fred. I can still remember starting my fifth grade class at a new school and meeting new friends. The best.
You're welcome, Joseph.
1975 was a good year for music
Look to the summer of 75. All the world gonna come alive. 🎶 😊
Already have those videos in the can.
One of the best songs Jefferson Starship ever did!
Don’t comment much anymore, but I’m always watching great job Fred, thanks
Good hearing from you again, Liz.
When i had tickets to zeppelin
no trouble getting a date
and only $6.50
TY Fred
Now that was livin'!
Saw Tommy at the neighborhood movie palace that was down the block from my grandparents home
What a trip
Great installment again. Amazed at what I remember - and what I don't remember. Crystal clear memories of "Have You Never Been Mellow"....the studio version takes me right back to my school days....heard it a lot that summer and fall of '75. My favorite tune by her. I'm not a big hard rock guy....more of a classic jazz, vocal jazz, r&b and reggae guy....so the Zeppelin stuff doesn't do much for me. Do remember the heavy presence of the Ohio Players that year. Marvel Comics were simply terrific that year in the "musical chairs of editors" era. Surprised I have little or no memory of trilogy of terror - or the Tina Turner and Vincent Price ads. And DEFINITELY remember the end of Vietnam that year....watching the news and feeling very sad. One last note: I always have thought Sandy Kellerman was a underrated beauty - a very unique, attractive lady.
I'm sure you mean SALLY Kellerman, Chris, and I totally agree. Plus she had a very nice (long) waist to hips ratio!
@@FredFlix Sorry, yes… SALLY! 😆 And yes … a unique beauty. Just watched Trek’s “Where No Man Has Gone Before” and she’s quite striking in that one.
I saw Tommy when I was 13. I was blown away. It truly is one of the best musical experiences
Oh my god, that freakin doll scared the hell out of me. My stupid Aunt let her son and I watch the movie it came from called "The Trilogy of Terror." He would wake up screaming from nightmares of seeing that doll dance around him with a butcher's knife. I had nightmares too- but not as bad as my younger cousin. That freakin chatter he made- sound man should have gotten an Oscar.
I was working night shift, ZG, so missed the first airing. But my brother told me about it and his wife told him, so we talked about it the next night as if we had seen it.
The movie with Karen Black was pretty upsetting
I Was 16 In March, Sneaking Out At Night To Hang Out With Girls With My Best Friend, Who's No Longer Able To Enjoy Your Videos. Thank You. (#417)
Sure thing, Watcher.
OMG FRED, that ending spooked the CRAP outta me! Excellent job, yet again!!
I planned it that way, Nunetc.
@@FredFlix LOL!! well, it worked!
How I wish I could revisit the 70s
Great times. I'll never forget seeing Tommy - blew my little 10 year old mind. Heard all those Top 40 hits on the school bus.
We had a house fire in February of that year...so I remember it well. I was 14 so many memories
I loved Karen Black, she was one of my favorites.
I was in 8th grade in March of 1975. I saw 'Tommy' about a month after its premiere. They had the trailer for 'Jaws' when I saw it.
Always bringing the very best Fred, never a disappointment!!🤟Karen Black is one my all-time favorite actresses, although I saw most of her work, much later. I was nine when this trilogy movie came out, and I didn't see it until I was grown, and probably a good thing because it's still scared the the crap out of me! 😬 I can say now though that when I see it which I did recently, I can find a little humor especially in that shot at the end!😁 I do remember seeing Escape to Witch Mountain in the theater as a kid. Thanks as always for the wonderful trip Fred!
BRILLIANTLY DONE ,FRED
Thanks, Eli.
thanks again sir.
You're welcome, S&D.
Thanks for the memories Fred I was 24 in 1975 it was a great decade for me
You're welcome, Bob.
I was 10 years old at the time and saw "Tommy" at the movies! And that Trilogy of Terror was horrifying!
Hard to believe that America has continued to produce music through the decades
So many memories! Thank you Fred!
You're welcome, 5arge.
I love this so much I can’t even begin to tell you. I really appreciate this so much m. Thanks FredFlix.
Give me just one full day back then. Just one.
I'd go for that too, HLJ. Lots more to come in this series.
@@FredFlix thank you
Love these ❤
Good morning Fred 👍
Good morning Gerry 👍🏼
Good morning, Gary.
JJJackson...future MTV VJ
Karen Black was 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Take me back when life made a little sense😊
Great stuff, I was in high school in 75. There has been a picture of Olivia Newton-John taken around this time floating around Facebook the past few weeks, good LORD that woman was cute!
You said it, Jeff.
It's a bit of a shame that I never saw the last part of Trilogy of Terror until I was an adult! It was on too late for my brother and I to stay up and watch it, but we sure heard all of the noise from our room! My parents told us to be quiet when we called down about it! Haha!
Nice trip too memory lane thnx.
You're welcome, Rolf.
Thank you.
It's funny. There's stuff in this video that I'm nostalgic about, and other stuff that I'm not so nostalgic about. It wasn't a great time in my life. The extreme aversion to all forest fires turned out not to be the best policy. Controlled burns are actually good for the forest. Always appreciate the look back, Fred.
As I do the comments, Robert.
Dark Shadows Brought Me Into The Trilogy Of Terror.
One of the greatest TV shows even: Midnight Special
Ahh, good stuff there, Fred. Funny that you should start and end with Trilogy of Terror, I just watched it the other night on MeTV lol. 👍👍👍👍
I knew it was on, Robert, although I made the video weeks ago.
Talking about flashbacks I was in 11th grade The Tuesday night movie was one of my favorite horror movies The music was amazing Oh well a old man's memories
That was great.....I could look and listen to Robert Plant all day!!!❤😂
Kinda thought I had him on too long, Chantelle, but I'll defer to your wisdom.
@@FredFlix oh honey....he is the original golden God! Led Zeppelin was my first true love as far as bands go .....my dad may have been a buttoned up deputy state auditor but he knew good music! And my first real boyfriend was a huge fan. I've read all the books about the debauchery but they were really just babies when they started out! Teens! And still here today....except Mr. Bonham. You chose wisely my dear friend! Good content! Maybe sometime when you need an idea pick a year and go through all the bands that were hot at that time and songs, concerts, blurbs from interviews....just a thought! Not that you need any help!(Place deep respectful head bow here!):)
@@ChantelleBrown-fb7gy Nice idea, Chantelle. I would like to use more music in this series, but sometimes I can't get past the copyright cops! Also, I have to find clips that are dated for whatever month I'm on, and they're not often tagged by the month (just the year).
@@FredFlix And that would make it a pain in the butt!!! You work hard enough without having to do all that extra! I'm happy with watching the golden God! LoL! You did well sir, very well!:)
I was born a few months later…
Thx Fredflix 📺🇺🇲
Only thing I remember was Trilogy of Terror. That messed me up for years as a kid. That voodoo doll thing.
"Trilogy of Terror" was actually much more frightening than "Child's Play".

My 8 th birthday i got a new bike best birthday ever March of 1975
7:58 What a sweet voice!
On March 18th CBS aired the "M*A*S*H" episode in which Henry Blake was being discharged; but at the end Radar announced that he was killed. One of the biggest shockers ever on TV!
Trilogy of Terror scared the heck out of me I tell you. Will always love Olivia Newton-John (even though I despise "Grease"). The Yakuza is a fantastic film. Takakura Ken is one of my all-time favorite actors. Been trying to find a lot of his Yakuza films from Japan for a long time. I'd even take them un-subbed, just to see them. His portrayal of Golgo-13 is legendary. Have seen that entire appearance of Ronald Reagan on The Tonight Show many a time. Love him or hate him, he knew his stuff. That cover of Time Magazine is odd. Shows what appears to be an ARVN soldier, but he is carrying a Soviet RPG 2. *shrugs* That was a great issue of The Avengers, but I hated when they put the nose on Iron Man. Looked stupid. Still does, lol. I know there is tons more out there, but it doesn't matter. Everything you fill your videos with is gold and worth every second of viewing. Thanks Fred.
You're welcome, Doug. I have to find stuff that is specific to the month, and not all clips I want to use are dated as such.
Another great one, Fred!
0:34 - That's 1 ugly troll. I can tell that's from the TVG E. New England Edition, where ABC affiliates were on channels 5 (Boston), 6 (New Bedford), 8 (New Haven, CT), and 9 (Manchester, NH).
1:58 - Ann-Margret, who turned 83 last weekend, played a very adult role in "Tommy" compared to "Bye-Bye, Birdie"..
4:24 - ABC's early 1970s PASSWORD is the first version of the game I remember seeing. The later years seemed to have very complicated rules. ABC cancelled PASSWORD in June, and it came back as PASSWORD PLUS on NBC in Jan. 1979.
5:40 - I had to look up "A Boy and His Dog" on Wiki. I'm glad our 2024 isn't as bad as that was. I was surprised to see Alvy "Hank Kimball" Moore produced & appeared in this movie. I'm NOT surprised to see Harlan Ellison supplied the story.
I remember that movie, Jon. Well, I don't really remember it, but I saw it. I think I saw it. Maybe it was Benjy I saw. Come to think of it, I didn't see that either. (Acting like Hank Kimball.)
Excellent closing, I stil feel feel spooked for what Karen Blacks character went though.
She didn't mid it at the end, though.
6:25 saw this in a theater.
Trilogy of Terror was on the Movies channel on Saturday. I tried watching it years ago but I got bored with it. That movie " A Boy And His Dog" was a weird one , but I still liked it. Thanks again, Fred 👍.
That was a creepy movie, but the ending was perfect. Early Don Johnson
_A Boy and His Dog_ starred a pre-Miami Vice Don Johnson as "Vic" and the former _Brady Bunch_ dog Tiger playing "Blood".
Trilogy is not great except for the doll segment.
If i were selling something I'd want Vincent Price as my salesman.
I would, too, besides, I had a crush on Vincent Price at that time, from late 1973 to mid-1978.
Lots of good stuff and people: Burt Bacharach (I thought him so attractive), David Frost (same), ONJ glorious voice (a tear for my lost soprano range 😢) and *that* ending that still gives me the willies. I mean, who says the 70's were this or that? They were *great* or maybe I was plain lucky. 💜🤟
We were all lucky, Mercedes, but maybe we didn't know it at the time.
@@FredFlixHm. And I wanted even more and went for it. ☺️💜🤟
Best part of the video- Robert Plant of Led Zep!
Trivia: What are two Canadian groups that had songs with Wolfman Jack in them and what are the songs? Another nice trip down memory lane; thank you, Fred.
I used to feel really special when Smokey told me that only I could prevent forest fires but then I found out he was running around telling that to everybody.
You want me to Guess Who, fest..us? (Clap for Wolfman Jack) But I don't know the other one.
@@FredFlix The trivia is for anyone who is interested and because Wolfman is in your video. Great going with The Guess Who and the other is The Stampeders with a cover of Hit The Road, Jack.
@@festidious2644 But is Hit the Road Jack about Wolfman Jack?
@@FredFlix No, Fred: After 'his baby' tells him to hit the road, he calls up the Wolfman (who is supposedly his friend) and asks him if he can stay with him. You then hear Wolfman call out to Ray (Charles) who is already there asking his advice and then he tells the singer that they just can't take him at the moment. The Stampeders had about 15 hits and this is a fun one.
@@festidious2644 Thanks!
So which Karen Black character is scarier? Trilogy of terror ending or the ending of Burnt offerings? I'll never forget her line " I've been waiting for you Ben" .
I wonder if Charles Band was influenced by the Trilogy of Terror given his long running Puppet Master series on Full Moon
Karen black was amazing in trilogy of terror
Me and my first girlfriend must have seen nearly every movie (at least the ones that were at the drive-ins), bcuz after we parted so I could spend my paltry earnings on building a car to race at the drags, I believe I didn't see a single movie until 76! That year I was given am ultimatum by my German Catholic mom.
No 'shacking up'!
I'd have been better off with the first girl....waah, waah!

Time to bring back Smokey the Bear
SMH. Elton John was the biggest pop star in the world in 1975 and his album Captain Fantastic was number one for 7 weeks and he had three number one songs that year. And yet he doesn’t get a mention.
You need to watch the entire series. He was featured in the last episode (Feb. '75), on the Cher show, which was posted just Thursday. He was also featured at a concert with John Lennon an episode or two before that. Plus a son of his will be featured with a photo montage this Thursday. But I can't mention him in every episode. And even if I wanted to, I'm limited by clips and images that are available from that month only, and not every clip I find is dated as such. Then too, sometimes YT will not allow a clip due to copyright issues. Anyway, I'm trying my best. Are we OK now?
The single "Philadelphia Freedom" was released on February 24th and shot up the chart during March. The only video performance I recall was when Elton appeared on "Soul Train" sometime in April or May.
RIP beautiful Tina Turner! I never knew she did a commercial. Was Ms. Turner selling sex or toothpaste?😂RIP Burt Bacharach, he sure was a silver foxx. RIP beautiful Oliva Newton-John, you fought a long battle. Salute to the American soldiers who fought in the Vietnam War. That's interesting in 1975, Coronet magazine states breast cancer with one shot, and to this day, no cure with one shot. The times when people had the freedom to smoke anywhere. "Smokey the Bear" The classic film, "Trilogy of Terror" is scary.
Karen Black still scares me.
5:19 RiP Burt Bacharach
Okay honestly who came here to see the beloved vincent price sponsoring candy?
Omg Karen Valentine was sooo hot . I was 14 then
