- We bought 2 of our dream snakes today!! One of which, as you already know, is a green anaconda. But the other one you'll have to watch to find out :) THEY'RE SO INCREDIBLE!! We can't wait to have them on display at our facility!!

NAME IDEA: The Black headed python should be named Quill because like a quill, her face is dipped in ink! Her pattern kinda looks like the feathers of a barred owl or Turkey also.

On selling and giving away animals on craigslist: never, EVER give animals away for free, especially cats and small dogs. These two types of animals are frequently used as bait animals for dogfighting rings, meaning that they'll probably end up being mortally wounded and left to die with no vet care or euthanasia. It's an absolutely horrible, vile practice, but it's unfortunately still a thing in the U.S. (this is also why you should avoid giving away "bully breed" puppies like pitties and mastiffs). A good, loving home will be willing to put in $25-$100 to get an animal they really want. If they aren't willing to pay an adoption fee, they probably won't be a good home. Don't let them trick you with sob stories and begging. When you adopt a pet, you commit to caring for it for the rest of its life or, if you can't, finding it a good home. If you choose not to spay your female animal, you make the same commitment to her babies. If you can't keep a dog or cat (or any animal) anymore for financial reasons, try to rehome it to a family member or friend, or surrender it to a shelter, or at least put a fee on it (dogfighters and other abusers look for free animals).
Yeah I hate when people say they’re looking for a free pet for their kid because they can’t afford it. I’m sorry but I’ve had many many different species of animals and pets and NOT ONE turned out to be “cheap” or a “one time purchase.” If you can’t commit your resources, then I’m sorry, you shouldn’t have a pet right now. People seem to act like having a pet is a right, and I get it, we all love animals, but it’s not.
Even people with money look for free pets too! My mom is plenty well off but she hunted and hunted to find herself a free kitten. And she still fights every time they’re due to go to the vet!

@@ohrats731 Yeah, it frustrates me to no end that people care less about pets that they got for cheap or free. Pets are more than their monetary value. I found a kitten behind a dumpster, but she's still my kitten, and she deserves as much care as a $1,000 purebred cat. I don't have much money, but if I did, you can bet I would be getting her the most high-end vet care I could find, because when I picked her up from a pile of trash and gave her a name, I made a promise to give her the best care I could.
Thank you for putting this info on to the web. I have rescued/ foster failed four loving dogs (from the Denver Dachshund Rescue and Transport) that have encountered serious abuse in there past lifes. One of my dogs, Sarge, was found in a horse trailer with a lot of other dogs (He was there for about four months). We took him in three years ago with a wound in his neck and scabs all over. We nursed him back to health, by then we already had three other dogs. But here I am now, sitting on my couch with all my dogs on my lap.

Anacondas are so naughty lol! My friend has one and when he was a baby he was super nippy!! But with regular handling as he grew up, he’s grown into a long scaled dog. He’s got his own room with a pool, just a super cool snake
The anaconda should be Amon (it’s Egyptian), meaning “hidden one” because he looks like he’s covered in camouflage!
And he's one of the biggest snake, as Amon is the God Almighty in Egyptian religion ^^

Thank you for such great videos. I have learnt so much about snakes since watching your videos. Growing up in South Africa snakes were always feared as there are a lot of venomous ones there. But you have really changed my feelings about snakes and I am totally in luv with them now. So much so that I am now a proud parent to a baby dwarf boa. He’ s brilliant and so glad I have him.

I don’t know if I’d ever feel comfortable buying an animal off of Craigslist, but I got a 4’ x 2’ x 18” PVC enclosure (with the glass and locks) for like $200. Still looks immaculate, and I can’t wait to have something to put in there. I’ve had the enclosure for over a year now, sitting in storage. I can’t get a snake right now for a few reasons, but the enclosure was just such a great deal and is one less thing I have to buy in the future

My fave in this video is the gray tree frog. I used to live in MN and I had a couple find their way into our home. I put them in a 20 gallon long sat up on it's side so it was taller and after a few days of watching them and listening to their amazing mating call I let them go. I so badly miss that sound.

Name for the anaconda could be "AMARUN." (AH-mah-roon). When I studied abroad in Ecuador for a tropical forest ecology class, I did my final project on the green anaconda. Amarun is the word for anaconda in Kichwa, which is one of the indigenous languages of the Amazon :) I am not Kichwa or part of that community so I would do some research to double check pronunciation and all that. There are interesting folk stories about anacondas in Ecuador!
Some other fun Kichwa words I learned (that could be names):
yaku (yah-koo) = water
Chicha (chee-chah) = traditional beer
Sapu (sah-poo) = frog
siki (see-key) = butt
sacha (sah-chah) = forest
iyarina (ee-yah-ree-nah) = memory/thought/love

Name idea: with his olive green almost camo color I'd call the anaconda "Sarge"
My town, drayton valley has a local reptile rescue that covers not only people from the town who can no longer take care of their animals, but they also travel to a few of the cities, including red deer which is 4 hours away just to help these reptiles out.
Omg Ed was so adorable when upu told him. He looked like a kid who was told he was going to Disneyland but that he didn't want to get too excited in case it was a trick lol.
