Just my opinion, the Andy Griffith Show is one of the greatest shows of all times. That is of course until Barney left and it went to color. Those old black and white seasons will never ever be topped.
FACTS!!
@Logia SD Well yeah, it happened at the same time basically. Other than the few episodes Barney stared in, by then it didn’t feel the same though.
Well you're right but the Jack Burns who played Warren was not too bad he wasn't as good as Deputy Fife of course
Back when Color TV first came out it was like being in a fantasy. We were kids and dad just bought a new set with tax refund. The colors were unreal (literally) now they are much more natural but it was really neat, However, I agree the old Black & Whites were great and now i prefer the Andy Griffith show in Black & White. Somehow seems more true to those times and makes it feel older and back to a time when things were slower and values were more pure.
Does anyone know why Barney left? Not on the show but in real life?
It’s just heartbreaking to see these iconic characters old. I watch the AGS once every couple of years and this is just sad.
How I miss these shows! They were so good, that;s all I used to watch at night after work.So relaxing!!
Beautiful Ford Galaxy!
RIP
Harold Smith 1/28/94
Don Knotts 2/24/06
George Lindsey 5/6/12

Thank you for always making me smile
For those who don't know, this episode of "Nashville Now" first aired September 18th, 1991 on TNN.
This may have been filmed as part of a Griffith show reunion that they put on at the Opryland theme park around that time. Nashville Now was filmed at the park.
We took a turbine airplane out to Nashville for heavy maintenance back in the late 80s to Nashville Jet Centers . When we arrived their manager of the facility gave us tickets to Nashville Now for 2 nights anytime in the 2 weeks we were scheduled to be there . Man oh man did that turn out so perfect for us.We went 1 night the 1st week and luck had us to see " The Gambler " - Kenny Rogers . Then the 2nd week we used the second pair of tickets to see "Dolly Parton " .I'm not a great big fan of her singing but absolutely Love her and all because of how she talks and tells stories about even her Personal life , in other words she is funny as can be.Pulls no punches nor does she bite her tongue .A real hoot .Everyone says i like her because of her big uns ( Boobs ) .Well i hate to tell you this , i do like em.Hell i ain't dead.
I wish Nashville Now was on still . I would have Loved to have been part of that audience . When they did the Commercial breaks they would at times mingle with the audiences. They did with us but Kenny Rogers couldn't get past the 1st 3 to 4 rows because the women Loved him and too much then .
I would have Loved to have been there the night they did this show. Not only were the shows live but recorded also . I used to just assumed all singers sounded good as they did and it was because of better production and equipment .NOT what you heard thru your tv and stereo at home , well , it sounds a lot better there .Even when they cut off the mic's on stage.Mr Rogers prior to the show always liked to come out and do some fine tuning with the back up singers.( at least when i was there and when he came to our fair city also )
Sorry i got off of the subject .I want to say though that Thelma was still very pretty . I could easily have fell in Love with her.
You look at all these characters though and you'll notice what i did about them. They all look really really good.Wasn't Otis a hoot and Goober who i watched play a bad guy role in Gunsmoke just this morning and it was hard to watch. .
Thanks for posting all of these videos. It takes a lot to do it so many parts.

Bless your little heart. I'm not the one who posted this video. It was some guy named "Bill Aa."
I just watched one of the epsiodes with the Darlings! So funny!...and Otis...um no one will ever play a drunk guy like Otis! Just the best!!
John dunsworth play a good drunk and never drank a drop of alcohol in his life
It must stink to be stuck in the role of a drunk for all time.
Best show EVER on TV.
Mayberry was a classic. There needs to be more clean shows like that.
Check out The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet. You might enjoy the values of family and raising children back then...
If they remade the show today then Andy would be a black jewish Russian transgender single parent raising a gender neutral child while facing the adversity of living thier life in a racist backwoods town filled with Klan members.
InstaBlaster...
Nashville Now was a great country music variety show it’s too bad Nashville Network is gone.
Andy you gave me so many good hours of enjoyment where no worries followed me. RIP.
it was a network owned show and emery was a great host that is very well respected in the music & entertainment industry to this day
RIP Ralph Emery
These video are priceless...thanks for posting.
Too bad Andy, Warren, Gomer and Howard weren’t present.
Wow, the darling boys grew up!!!!!, still sound good
Thank you for sharing this with us.
George Vreeland Hill
I wish Andy and Gommer were there too.
I love the music! I loved Mayberry!
It’s me it’s me it’s Ernest T.😂😂👍👍
Good singing
Thanks alot for the post! I had never seen this. Glad they did it. :)
Thanks for posting.
They got the drunk guy driving...a police car.
They are letting Otis drive ?
i loved Otis
"He's a drug store truck drivin' man. He's the head of the Ku Klux Klan." You know who i mean.
Yes..Ralph Emery is a staple in Nashville for sure. I think he used to do radio back in the day and that is how he got that gig. They say people reach their level of incompetency and ol' Ralph has done just that. And your right the the whole pony act was so wrong but that is typical grand ol' opry style of cornball comedy at its worst. Poor Don he was embarassed I think and Ralph! Sorry dude! Its like you just woke up from a nap and your trying to be engaging half asleep.
I didn’t know when this was made that Andy passed away. 😮
Thank you Bill Aa
Excellent videoclip!
Why isn't Andy Griffith in any of these reunions?
Of all of the
Andy Griffith shows, I think the ones with the Darlings were the best.
Mike Bouchard 9 8 I was ? What
They stunk...I couldn't stand them, or that idiot Ernest...
I'm going to have to edit all this together. Why wasn't the whole thing posted as one?
This was from September 1991, according to a Feb 1992 issue of TAGS Newsletter.
TAGS = The Andy Griffith Show Appreciation Society if I'm guessing what you mean correctly. 😏
Great show and great cast of beloved characters, but the host is straight out of the bush leagues.
@mcfrdmn: My guess is Andy's association with Matlock perhaps prevented him from participating in a lot of the reunions that took place in the late '80s and early '90s. He hosted a reunion program for CBS in 1993 called "The Andy Griffith Show Reunion" and has appeared in other Mayberry-related reunions, too, but not as many as the large supporting cast.
Hal Smith looks like he needs a hot shower free meal and a bus ride out of town
It's a bit irritating that the actors are mentioned by their character names rather than their own names. This looks like fun though.
is that Kenny loggins on piano
Singer reminds me of Les Claypool
@mcfrdmn Great question!
He says "what a sketch"
when was this interview?
Would be nice if we knew what year this was from.
1991.
Ralph was a dope
Don’t you take this down RUclips or so help me
where's Andy Griffith
ryan stout he never gave a shit, had more important things to do
He was filming Matlock at the time.
And gommer
Boy do I MISS good ole wholesome truly entertaining TV programs.
99% of today's TV is just pure 🐂💩.
I loved the Mayberry cast, but the host left a lot to be desired. Yuk!
🤩💖👍👍
Probably because he owns the show..
We need more good shows like the Andy Griffith instead of the crap that's on now
Cameron holbrook
Strange reunion show.
Too bad they didn't have a reunion of the sketch writers too....
Not being disrespectful..
But i dont see how George Lindsay ever landed a role on Andy Griffith or any other show
Why, he was perfect as the dopey Goober! A little annoying at times, but I thought he was funny.
Even though this was made in 91 I find it sort of offensive that they get these Andy Griffith actors to act like show ponies. It is a little bit disrespectful to these classic actors. Shame on this show Nashville Now. No wonder the main cast of the show didn't participate in this charade.
The only one I know who is alive now Is Thelma Lou
Thelma Lou, Opie, and Charlene Darling and the Darling Boys.
How did Ralph Emery keep his job? Terrible host!
Think he had just gotten old. Sort of worked as all the others were getting old too.
No, he says "What a sketch." "Sketch" sounds nothing like "dick." Guess you heard what you wanted to hear.
I have seen this before and it was a wonderful show.....except for Ralph Emery. He was awful here and almost cringeworthy. Calling the actors by their character names and asking silly questions. I know Emery has been around forever and has done good work but he fumbled the ball here for some reason.
Looks like old Logan Paul
host blows..he should work janitorial instead
Red Skelton
This was weird.
The skits appear to be nothing more than cheap parody of the actual series' plots. Sort of like Sarah Palin taking Tina Fey's place in an SNL skit about ....Sarah Palin.
Omg I hated the darlings and that other stupid guy Ernest....otherwise I loved the show
Gem 11967 what is wrong with you you must not under stand small town southern American and a great Americana past time r.i.p the ones past before us God bless bless and help save good ole southern Appalachian American bluegrass music
They were the best ones
Ernest T. Bass was the best character actor in the show, Otis was special too. Of course Bernie and Andy were fantastic, doll! The fun girls were fun too. Howard Morris was a co-star on Your Show of Shows with Sid Caesar But you probably don’t even know that is.
@@bobbyjohnson9814 I thought Ernest t was annoying that’s all.
