Sam was really smart about how he conserved his energy as best he could in the first round, it paid off for him.
He had a pre fight adrenaline dump, happens especially for the first time and being in front of so many people.
I think that Short little beasting maneuver he did on him at first really intimidated and frenzied Thompson. Then he kept going frantically the whole rest of the first and second round while Sam just walked around him and kept his left arm up
That was literally the one thing he did bad

The fight I watched his hands were down almost the entire time he just used his height and reach advantage to keep Thompson at a distance where that one right haymaker he kept throwing missed most every time. His hands weren't even up in the 3rd round, they were at his waist lol

I'm so happy to see Sam happy, he's been entertaining me for so many years and it looks like he's done something for himself for once

Having only been a Sam Hyde fan for about 2 years now, I can honestly say that him looking reasonably happy and content was deeply disturbing to me.

All things considered though he stole the show any time they let him talk, won his fight and had a good showing. There seems to be an expectation that he should have bulldozed the guy in round one, but as you could see he tried and just burned his energy. Thank God he was hitting hard enough for it to be worth it but damn
