My favorite-ever DJ, Don Slack, retired last night after decades on KEXP in Seattle. He said that this was going to be the last song he played to kill off his DJ persona, but his wife convinced him it would be too intense or something like that. So, we're here this morning--whoa!
@@D3adToraX I dont think ive ever commented on any videos on this youtube account over a span of maybe 20 years. But I just had to tell you that you're wrong. Thanks
I was blessed to know Moris Tepper for a short time in my life. He did a lot of guitar tracking for Pixies back in the day as a studio musician. What he told me about working with them and the stuff he showed me sonically will forever be imprinted subconsciously and unintentionally on the stuff I work on, and I'm very happy for it. There's songs on this album and things about their sound that remind me of nights in LA with that gentleman when he taught me so much me about music, gardening, and life that today I'm starting to yet still don't understand. It's like this song was a part of my life before I ever heard it and at this point I've said too much tbh. This song hit different and this album is a record
That abrupt stop makes this song not only a banger, but a masterpiece. Hits different now too watching the video, wondering how many of those locations no longer exist.
They smashed the entire Shoegaze scene since ever one heard the Twilight at Carbon Lake by Deerhunter which has the same vibes. Just outrageous and beautiful. If you never heard about deerhunter, microcastle is so recomended
I've watched this like 20 times. This is a video I'm going to come back to again and again over the years. So unique, emotional, satisfying. Yay for art!
i haven't been able to listen to this song yet without tears welling up in my eyes around the 6:07 mark . so excited for this album, so love wednesday the band :'''P
I just realized that's when she quotes the video game verbatim. It's a bit ironic that the funniest and most emotionally intense parts coincide with each other.
I don't give new music a chance very much, I'm pretty picky and set in my ways ...but somehow this came on and it became one of those powerful musical tractor beam moments where everything else ceases to exist and I was fully enthralled by the surprisingly evocative magic here that I found to be a vibe I apparently needed in my life.... It snuck up on me. Thanks for the unexpected intense feels. Y'all have become the excitingly rare new addition to my very particular esoteric regular listening mix.
Been following this band for awhile but this song made me write a whole damn love letter to the person I’m talking to at 3am while she’s asleep so idk if that’s what these guys were going for but it worked so well, just wow
WTF how am I just hearing about this song? My best bud and I often joke about how much we love outros, and this is one of the best I've heard in a long time. Will definitely be checking out more by this band.
First time hearing this I'd fallen asleep with a playlist... nearly fell out of bed in fright! Now though, got to be my track of the year. Love all these musicians and their sound together. I feel like they are playing from the heart. Can't wait to hear what they do next. Thanks a million, Wednesday! x
I like everything about this. The creative purity, the trippy visuals. A lot of smart choices were made on all levels. Didn't think I'd make it through the full running time, but I was captivated throughout. Keep up the good work, I'm definitely going to check out your other stuff.
One of the most incredible songs I've heard in a long, long time. I cried at the end. Absolutely fucking amazing. I haven't heard pure, raw, unbridled energy like this since the 90s
Same!!! I came to the show just for them and was so happy, bought a cassette and a tee. Hope you're coming out to the see them again in June like I am 😉❤️
Just came on randomly. Im washing up in the setting sun here in Ireland and danced my ass off. Gave me that feeling I had sometimes in the 90s as a teen when I heard something I didnt quite understand but instantly knew I loved and would find out all the records secrets later on. First time ever hearing this or this band. Great stuff 👍
You guys really rock it out! That steel guitar is so mean! Love it. The screaming at the end is unsettling. Just fucking wow. Congrats on your success.. eagerly awaiting to hear what comes on the next album.
I just learned of them via another band’s fan FB page. I’m completely enamored! And seriously bummed that they have toured within a simple drive for me a few months ago, and I was unaware. Not anymore…
I remember years back hoping bands like Title Fight and Basement would revitalize grunge - now that time has finally come and it's better than I could have imagined
when i listen to this song when im out i can't wait to get home just to watch the music video..... something magical happened on this album its so blissful

I'm so happy a bunch of kids in the south are making music like this. All is not lost.
A lot of the greatest music out there come from places where there's literally nothing else to do. :)
Is the North Carolina the south? I think it's more of the Northeast. But maybe it's a mix of the two? Kind of like Virginia.

Can you imagine Wednesday and Thursday touring together? It would be awesome!
Saw them live last night and she performed it spot on to this and even better. It was amazing. Great new band. Hope for them to get more recognition
I just found out about this band the other day when my daughter invited me to go see them next week. This song is insane and I'm obsessed!!
Going to see them live in a few months time. Can't wait.
I have tickets to see them live in May and am really looking forward to seeing how Karly replicates that cascade of screams at the end.

How they pull off mixing Southern music and grunge, IDK. Bigfoot in the background kills me every time I watch this. Amazing tune!
hearing so many sounds pulled together and executed so perfectly is something rare these days, major respect, stunned

Who else started rocking back n forth while internally screaming with those last 2 minutes?
I'm in love with this one. Insane run... last 2 minutes are just a tour de force.
This song reminds me so much of Pixies and PJ Harvey in their Steve Albini era. It’s just so insanely good I’m obsessed 😍
I’d love for Steve Albini to produce their next record it would be so sick, but I’m also open to the new generation just doing their thing
I wouldn't be surprised if this was written after learning to play Bull in the Heather by the Breeders
